Here they are. I want a glass bowl to display them as this 1930s black/pink vase doesn’t match our colour scheme but at least it’s getting some use after years of languishing in a cupboard!

Lovely- the two are the Firles and I have the Olive one 😍

Dee1224 · 13/01/2024 15:01

Ah, thanks @Stoic123 !

Dee1224 · 13/01/2024 15:03

Thanks @ScottishMouse ! I just wish I could sew, because the space between buttons is too big - imo it really needs another button.

I am going to try them on again tomorrow.

Dee1224 · 13/01/2024 15:05

Btw, this is the drawstring dress, seeing as I am playing dress up!

Those Christmas baubles! I think if it were me I'd just be stroking their shininess the whole time!

@Dee1224 - I agree with the person who said the blue dress needs to have a button or two undone - and though I prefer the print of the other, I'd always go for the one with sleeves as it's more versatile and I dislike my upper arms

@Stoic123 those are two very different shades aren't they - but I bet they look great together, better than if they matched perfectly!

Stoic123 · 13/01/2024 15:18

@faustina - yes, they look really good together.

Dee1224 · 13/01/2024 15:19

Thanks @faustina. I do enjoy looking at those baubles - too nice to save for Xmas imo. I always wanted to be the sort of person who could have non-essential decorative balls in a bowl and now our front room has been decluttered and redecorated, I think I can!

Delaying my returns whilst I ponder the dress situation further! TBH, I really need to empty out my wardrobe as I don’t wear 90% of it 🙀

Stoic123 · 13/01/2024 15:20

@Dee1224 - I love the drawstring dress (own it) but not sure how well it photographs. How tall are you?

Stoic123 · 13/01/2024 15:22

@Dee1224 - also, have you tried pulling the drawstrings to give the collar height? Thought looked better that way on me.

Dee1224 · 13/01/2024 15:23

Hi @Stoic123 - I am 5’4”. I like it too, but that front pleat put me off. I think if it was further reduced, I might risk it.

DH hates it, but then he also hates my new WS dungarees that I am wearing with my Toast jacquard socks and bargain SM long sleeve stripy tee😹

Dee1224 · 13/01/2024 15:26

I must give a shout out to my dungarees- WS reduced to £26! I found the black more flattering and comfy as they have a bit more stretch than the blue. Size 12 fits beautifully.

DH persuaded me to send back the WS dark blue cord dungarees last year, and I have regretted it ever since, so am ignoring him on this one!

Dee1224 · 13/01/2024 15:27

Ooh no, @Stoic123 - I had forgotten about the drawstring. Will give it a go.

Am I right in assuming that the front pleat needs ironing back in after a wash?

Thanks

Not had a good look- heading out now but will look this evening.

Stoic123 · 13/01/2024 15:30

PS- not washed yet so I'll be guessing a bit.

Dee1224 · 13/01/2024 15:32

Thanks @Stoic123

The gorgeous check linen trousers arrived today, my niece was here and she’s taken a very big shine to the red and I’m loving the green. Also the new colours in the garment dyed linen trousers are wonderful. Willing my summer trouser weather to arrive… I mostly wear dresses in winter and trousers in summer. Also picked up a couple of pairs of socks whist making an order.

frustratingly I’ve had a refund that’s just not processing through PayPal… may have to give them a call at end of next week !!

OftenOrange · 13/01/2024 16:52

@Dee1224 Glad someone else has a DH who doesn’t love Toast !
I’d be dressed in pastel florals if I followed DH taste ; whatever I buy he says ‘ not bad but it’s a bit dark ‘ .
I do like both dresses but find it hard to pick between them as they’re so different . I like the Selma, it gives a low key chic vibe , and the Maeve a more extrovert one , to my eye.
I love the Maeve fabric and also have the skirt from the previous sale . I’d love to know @Stoic123 how you pair it . It works with neutrals in the ecru spectrum , and looks. OK with a blue chambray blouse , but I think I’m going to find it hard to be more creative coming as I do from a generation who used to shop for shoes that exactly match a certain shade in an outfit ,ugh!

OftenOrange · 13/01/2024 17:02

@Dee Your curated sale purchases make me look like a shopaholic , gulp.
My tally is : Olive Donegal cardigan/coat
Embroidered brown skirt
Emerald green alpaca jumper
Blue stripe and check thin cotton dress
Bryn tie neck 2 fabric dress
Breton

Any misgivings were quashed today , having returned some size doubles to Toast Shoreditch, I went into Sessun which seems to be a similar price point , though a more European style .
The items were so inferior in fabric quality , construction and colour , I did like a couple of tanks but otherwise it was just dull to my eye.

Edit to say I’ll be returning there on Tuesday to visit the optician and plan to try on some new Season . Any requests for info/ photos I’ll certainly try to oblige.
I did like the blue green check skirt, it’s soft colours but I think in Spring light it will look lovely .

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 13/01/2024 17:14

@Dee1224 I have that drawstring collar dress too, and I’m 5' 4”. I really like it with a Breton underneath to break up the dark. I roll the sleeves up too.
I must admit when I went to see my brother he said 'why don’t you take your coat off' 😆 and I hadn’t seen it like that before then.
I haven’t washed mine either so can’t help with the pleat issue.

MrsRadichio · 13/01/2024 17:16

lol my dh doesn’t like toast either, but his animosity is more due to the fact he has a vague idea of the prices!

Agree that both maeve and Selma look nice @Dee1224 and quite different so hard to compare them. I think the maeve will reappear in later sales as it has already been in the last few. In case you prefer to buy it more seasonally. I love the print too.

Dee1224 · 13/01/2024 17:27

Thanks for the feedback @OftenOrange and @MrsRadichio

My DH says pretty much exactly the same as yours @OftenOrange and has similar taste in women’s clothing. This from a man who wears huge tracksuit bottoms and his ‘I love my husky’ hoodie day in day out. (Tbf, the hoodie is my fault- a joke Xmas present that backfired on me spectacularly as he now won’t take it off🙀).

I am jealous of your Donegal coatigan - was tempted, but I have one from the pop up that I rarely wear, so seemed silly.

How are you getting on with the Bryn? Is it tts? It was on my list but in the Navigation Bryn I needed a Small, but it seemed as if I’d need a Medium in the two tone.

Dee1224 · 13/01/2024 17:29

😹@Theteapotsbrokenspout - I also thought the drawstring dress would look nice over a Breton. Might try that tomorrow, (although I don’t have a blue/cream one - mine’s beige/purplish).

Alpacasoft · 13/01/2024 17:49

I would tell my DH to knock himself out and wear pastel florals if he wishes 😎
My money,my choice!

I prefer the Selma on you @Dee1224
I've got the Drawstring collar dress in a medium I'm 10/12 and I rolled the sleeves up and flipped the collar up, chunky silver collar or with a long sleeve stripe tee under.

This sale
Blue leafy Bryn
Denim jumpsuit

I've ordered the Selma in a 10 in both colours 🤞 for stock.

I love the Olive crinkle dress and the similar skirt , I bought the Black crinkle cotton skirt with Christmas money and it's perfect.
Also like the Organic Jersey stripe shirt, the Japanese flat front trousers, all the garment dyed trousers, the Asawa shorts and trousers, all the Loop back jersey stuff and the Stripe neat sweaters.
I don't think they showed the nicer stuff on the Live
In the photo of the Stripe tee there is a very nice pair of tan pumps , not credited
Does anyone know where they are from?

ScottishMouse · 13/01/2024 17:52

I spotted those tan pumps too @Alpacasoft. I love them.

Dee1224 · 13/01/2024 17:53

Thanks @Alpacasoft
