@OftenOrange yes, so loving the themes this time round. The Annie ecrus look lovely—and I’m noticing many full length trousers in the new drop which is really appreciated. I am also very pleased to see a few lilac pieces too.

neveradullmoment99 · 11/01/2024 17:10

So the Toast live..
Allotments and cabins mmm... all a bit Toast mushroom in pocket for me.
I'm not sure I like 'themes' Just all a bit too pretentious and I really hate that.
As for the clothes. I liked the A-line waistcoat but mostly worn as a dress. Online I like the blue but live I think I preferred the green!
Disliked the cream skirt that seem to balloon out. Didn't much like the £400 jumper. Really loved the red dress at the end with the gorgeous shoes and fairisle socks in red. Gorgeous.
I like the slim fit of the dress but it looks totally unforgiving for anyone with boobs and a tum so think that is out for me. Think there was a new Bryn? Not fussed for the print in either the cream and the green.
Loved the knitted fisherman tunic. Love the green and the length.
Loved the lovely knitted cream jumper she was wearing but I was put off by how she had styled it. I didn't like the dress and jumper combo.
The long annie's were nice but nothing that special.
They were the things that stood out for me.
Was a bit sad they hadn't shown the denim pinafore dress [ the new one with the 70's vibe] That and the a-line dress will be my future purchases. Oh and perhaps the knitted tunic jumper.

Dee1224 · 11/01/2024 17:12

😂@MiracleToast -secateurs! I heard it as ‘flowers’ and have been thinking ‘how weird!’ ever since. I am not sure secateurs makes much more sense, but we are in Toastworld after all!

Re: The live. I liked the ‘bone’ jumper the host was wearing and the effect of the jumper over the check wrap dress, but not much else.

I can’t abide short, boxy jumpers and tops, as they cut me in half and make me look shorter and wider than I am. Toast’s current obsession with this style has therefore pretty much ruled all jumpers and tees out for me for the last few seasons🙃. (For example, I loved the thick grey fluffy jumper from the autumn collection, but it landed on the top of my waist and looked dreadful.)

I was taken aback by some of the pricing - at this rate I will be sticking to cut rate baubles…

neveradullmoment99 · 11/01/2024 17:13

Oh and wasn't sure about the jumpsuit. I received the denim pinafore with the v-neck style today. I really love it and it is very flattering but not really sure about the pleating that even bunched on the model at the front.

neveradullmoment99 · 11/01/2024 17:14

Sorry meant to say not sure about the pleating on the jumpsuit in the same design.

Dee1224 · 11/01/2024 17:16

Oh I really didn’t like that jumpsuit on the live @neveradullmoment99 - I can appreciate the quality and I am sure it would suit some people, but it just really emphasised that particular model’s crotch area.

I have remembered that I did like the stripy tank tops.

whinsome · 11/01/2024 17:29

Ok, having watched the Live am off the deep v trouser suit. 😅

Also v interested in the new denim pinafore dress and like the sound of the Fishermans tunic from someone else who contends with Scottish weather!

whinsome · 11/01/2024 17:30

Thought the Bryn looked a lot nicer on the live model than on the website. Not so keen on that print but might try it another colour way/pattern having seen it on her.

Totally!

ScottishMouse · 11/01/2024 17:55

Just watched the live and there is nothing at all in it I particularly like. Thank goodness!
I did spy a few things this morning in store when I made me returns, but I was in a hurry so didn’t look in detail or try anything. I’m interested in the olive green crinkle skirt and dress perhaps. I also love the look of the navy & green Japanese trainers, and the reviews suggest they are good for wide feet, but they are so pricey. Does anyone have them in the other colour from last season?

Noeggsontoast · 11/01/2024 17:59

I watched the live and like the blue shirt and dress and then the two striped tanks best. I've already bought that shirt but thought the dress was much nicer in real life than on the website and I liked the two together.

The v neck jumpsuit is no longer on my list.

I did like the ecru and red jumper but I'm holding off on knitwear as I've bought a few pieces recently.

I agree re the Bryn looked better on the live, but not sure the colours are for me.

Looking forward to seeing other items drop in the coming weeks.

Noeggsontoast · 11/01/2024 18:05

@ScottishMouse I have that brand of trainers which are in green, black and rust. Bought elsewhere. They are very comfortable and some of their styles are suited for a wide foot. Uniform research has a good sale on them for women right now, you might see a similar colour palette on their site. Not meaning to enable....

ScottishMouse · 11/01/2024 18:17

Thanks @Noeggsontoast, much cheaper than on Toast’s website (even at full price). Not sure I love any of the colours as much as the navy/green ones though sadly. Plus I don’t want to spend on them at the moment, will think about it for later in the spring.

Stoic123 · 11/01/2024 18:27

Nothing on the Live was of interest but that often happens with first few viewings for me.

I've bought the new striped neat jumper in red shades to try. I also like the look of the longer loopback trousers in the green ('Puck') colour.

sonjadog · 11/01/2024 18:33

Nothing appealed to me on the live today. I thought I might like the checked skirt, but I didn't like it so much on the model as I thought I would. I have a checked skirt from last summer that I like the colour and pattern better. The Scandinavian cabin theme is going to amuse me, as someone living in Scandinavia with extensive experience of cabins. I look forward to seeing what Toast considers "cabin style"...

Alpacasoft · 11/01/2024 19:07

@Countmeout pretty sure Manos will have done an exclusive colourway for Toast but they also have an extensive range of yarns.
As a knitter from the age of 9 I've cycled through yarn fashions and handspun bright colours isn't particularly what I go for.

I jumped on the Live , nothing interested me but I often find I need time to adjust.
Amused at the allotment theme.
So worn out trousers and shabby boots then ?
Perhaps Geoffrey and his dibber...

Alpacasoft · 11/01/2024 19:09

I'm pleased about the Annie trousers in a longer length though 😊

faustina · 11/01/2024 20:21

I couldn't see much on the live that appealed - can see the draw of the full length trousers for people who aren't short, but that's not me - also the Annie style doesn't suit my body type. The khaki crinkle dress is nice - maybe on the non-kindred live next week? And as a keen gardener I can totally identify with having big pockets in my parchment coloured skirt in which to keep my secateurs - I keep a skirt by the garden door for that very purpose. Thought everyone did! 😀

Do you mean these trainers? Blue and brown? Wonder what the sizing is like...

I've ordered the loopback trousers in that lovely green colour. And I like the look of the new denim dress...

mizu · 11/01/2024 20:57

Thanks for the link @Snowyowl78 not much I liked but the first dress looked nice, I liked the movement of it and the length on the model - wonder how tall she is? Not sure what size I would be in it though, so used to wearing dresses that are a looser fit.

Soandsoon · 11/01/2024 21:22

I thought it would ‘nip’ in. And maybe would on some shapes… it’s almost too low.

Soandsoon · 11/01/2024 21:24

Thank you for the boob related dress sympathy!

JustforToast · 11/01/2024 22:27

I bought this Green canvas jacket at the shop today. Almost certainly do not need this right now but it’s so lovely - and it’s lined, which a lot of the Toast canvas jackets haven’t been in recent years.

I tried on the v neck jumpsuit but am too short in the body and straight up and down. Didn’t suit me. I also tried the cord jumpsuit as I love that style and have the indigo one. Need to think about it a bit more.

Like a lot of the new drop. Blue and green are my favourite colours so there’s a lot of temptation. Mind you, I also watched the Live but I didn’t like how they styled the clothes - some of it was just baffling!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 11/01/2024 22:55

I love that jacket @JustforToast it's on my wish list. What is the sizing like ? I was a bit thrown as the studio model is wearing a S/M and I have been recommended the same size, and I am definitely not that shape! I’m a busty 12.
What season would you say the jacket is for? I couldn’t tell from the description. (I don’t need another jacket either but it is very tempting).

JustforToast · 11/01/2024 23:33

@Theteapotsbrokenspout I am
a 10-12 and I got the S/M. It’s a nice roomy fit. As it’s lined there’s a reasonable weight to the jacket so I’m thinking Spring and Autumn.
