I need to stop buying clothes.
I have far too many.
I feel overwhelmed deciding what to wear every day.
I wear a uniform to work.
I have deleted all shopping apps.
I am unsubscribing from shop e mails.

Anyone else ?

That sounds fun if we can share ideas and inspiration from our own wardrobes. My outfits are often quite boring, but I don't care if ppl criticise - that says more about them than me - I'm too old now and I know what I like, even if others don't agree!

Has someone made a 2025 thread that I've missed...?

I was wondering the same, a 2025 thread with shared ideas from wardrobes sounds great. Anyone planning on starting one?

There's already a 2025 no clothes buying thread and I don't know if you've seen the long running "what are you wearing today" thread? There's no harm in starting your own threads if you prefer though.

Just popping in to give my end of year report.

I failed fairly spectacularly to keep my incoming items to under 5 but I did manage to stop buying clothes and accessories for "occasions" and other people, and only buy things I need for the way I live my life.

My perimenopausal body and my priorities have changed. I have more belly hip and bum than I did a few years ago but don't hate it. I always had kind of a flat bum so having curves is nice. I feel sexier if anything. But having gone up more or less two sizes has required new clothes.

Last year I decided not to buy any more polyester. This year my hot body decided to stop wearing it. It just feels clammy to me now. Ditto acrylic.

I've switched over to big pants. It took me a while to find a shape that suits my new shape, and it's not really done to try on a pack of pants before you buy is it?

One day on a country walk something went wrong with the soles of my walking shoes and holding up my foot like a horse to be shod my husband declared that the rubber had rotted so I had to replace those. And I hated the replacements, so sold them on and bought another pair.

I bought some crisp new cotton work shirts, a big billowy cotton summer shirt and trousers set and a denim shirt (I've always wanted one Grin)

Plus (oh god Shock) two bras, two sun hats, two pairs of shoes, one pair of slippers (my first) and a pair of sandals.

So 20 new purchases in all.

I'm still going to aim for 5 in 2025.

Perhaps this year I'll actually manage it?! 😁

I started last year with buy less but better attempt, I think I done ok, nearly everything I brought was reduced or on sale, and only one item from primark , a lace dress cost £7. I stopped shopping in newlook, h&m, mainly m&s next online and john lewis online as they both do lots of brands, when I added my spend, it was around the same, so must do better this year, went sale shopping today, and did buy a velvet waistcoat, 2 cashmere jumpers , a knitted with tassels waistcoat, leather ankle boots and the only full price was a tassel scarf with sequins, I couldn't resist from m&s, I had some Christmas money so that paid for some.
