How many jumpers do you own?

I have 4, of which one is too small but is a cashmere roll neck, so can wear under coats, if sure not to take the coat off.

One is new £25 viscose and I never want to take it off. Just ordered the same in 2 other colours and a little embarrassed by this frivolity.

I have a lot of jumpers! Very thick, only used when v cold, medium thick general cold weather, thinner for autumn etc, and thin for going out. Lots of grey, dd says step away from the grey mum!

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 09/12/2023 23:25

Loads! Probably about 12. Maybe more.

Temporaryname158 · 09/12/2023 23:25

Loads, probably 15 in different colours and styles but I live in jeans so always wear one

Toesaresoweird · 09/12/2023 23:31

3 jumpers (boxy), 1 poncho style checked jumper,1 bell sleeve jumper dress, 1 bodycon knitted dress, 1 mohair sleeveless jumper to wear with shirts, about the same number of cardigans and a long cable knit grey cardigan. Plus 1 vintage Christmas jumper.

Finful · 09/12/2023 23:34

Lots tbh I like the new M&S ones this year as they’re cheap so can’t help myself but buy all the colours! I find if you follow the wash instructions they last well so you can never go wrong with too many jumpers.

Stressybetty · 09/12/2023 23:34

Not many, currently swapping between 3 woolovers lambswool v necks for warmth.

Sequinne · 09/12/2023 23:41

Not sure exactly - about 15.

I rotate about 5 of my favourites regularly. Then wear a few of the others every so often. I’ve probably got too many.

hexsnidgett · 09/12/2023 23:44

I think about 8 plus a million cardigans.

Wallabyone · 09/12/2023 23:46

Erm, quite a lot-maybe 30 or so? I've collected them over the years, and look after them.

SleepingisanArt · 10/12/2023 00:18

None! Hate them! Think I last wore one in the 1980s!

Morewineplease10 · 10/12/2023 01:00

Maybe about 6?
Bought 2 new ones last year. The rest are quite a bit older I think.

4 is definitely not many op and glad you've treated yourself!

mm47 · 10/12/2023 01:10

If you don’t wear sweaters, what do you wear for a warm layer?

MarieStellaMaris · 10/12/2023 01:11

About 5632 I think. I only wear 3 or 4 of them.

Tangelo · 10/12/2023 01:21

4 cashmere v-necks
5 slim merino crew necks
2 polo necks (1 merino, 1 lambs wool)
2 cashmere mix sleeveless jumpers
2 lambswool ponchos
4 cardigans

Two of the crew necks are new (in lovely colours) but everything else I’ve collected over probably a decade. If you buy quality you can wear it for years (I don’t have similar numbers of jeans or dresses because they wear out or no longer look modern).

I prefer a warm jumper and less heating, and good wool is smart enough for work. I wash it all in the machine on a wool setting with woolite and expect to be wearing the same collection for yearshh

TheDandyLion · 10/12/2023 10:16

4 sweatshirts which I only wear in the summer
5 fine knits
3 heavy knits
2 cardigans, 1 fine knit 1 heavy knit
1 jumper dress

lindyloo57 · 10/12/2023 13:00

I have around 10 cashmere that I buy every year in the m&s sale, and 8or 9 marino wool, also from m&s a mix of neck lines polo's and round neck, I slowly replaced all my acrylic jumpers, now I have none.

ThereSnowLimit · 10/12/2023 13:02

I have multiple fitted knit roll necks and loads of hoodies, but I don’t wear proper jumpers. I don’t find them comfortable and I don’t wear jeans so not sure what they’d go with.

I wear the roll necks with skirts l, and the hoodies with leggings at the weekend.

PickleSmith · 10/12/2023 13:19

Sorry but I'm laughing a little bit at the frivolity of owning 4 jumpers. That would be a completely and utterly normal amount to own. And you can pick them up for a couple of quid in the charity shops I should think.
Vinted too

PickleSmith · 10/12/2023 13:20

But to answer the question - I have loads but tend to favour sweatshirts

Bicorne · 10/12/2023 13:21

Loads. Some big sloppy ones I wear with jeans out for walks etc at the weekend, or around the house (draughty old house), others light cashmere or other fine wool that I wear tucked into leather or denim skirts or with wide-legged trousers.

Darklane · 10/12/2023 15:16

MarieStellaMaris · 10/12/2023 01:11

About 5632 I think. I only wear 3 or 4 of them.

Nearly as many as me 😂

Seriously far too many to count. Can’t resist a nice jumper especially when in Scotland near the outlet shops. Plus knitting is not so much a hobby as an affliction according to my DH.

luckylavender · 10/12/2023 15:18

0 & 0 cardigans either.

OnlyCorrect · 10/12/2023 15:23

Also loads.
People who don't have m/any jumpers, what do you wear 9 months of the year in the UK?

MarieStellaMaris · 10/12/2023 18:14

luckylavender · 10/12/2023 15:18

0 & 0 cardigans either.

Whaaaaat? Do you live in Rio de Janeiro?

Waitingfordoggo · 10/12/2023 18:15

None at all 😂

If the weather is cold, I’d wear thermal vest + long sleeve T-shirt + hoodie.
