How long does it take you from when you get out of bed to when you leave the house. doesn't matter what you're doing or where you're going. X

Around 1hr 15mins.
Alarm goes off at 530, get up 545.
Boil kettle to make tea and fill thermos to warm it up.
While kettle is boiling load up the slow cooker with pre prepped dinner, use kettle for stock if necessary.
Put lunches (premade) together, pour kids juice and get milk/bowls out (if I don't do this my teens won't eat!!)
Go upstairs for shower, wake kids up.
Get out of the shower and call the kids again.
Get dressed... come downstairs and wait for youngest to physically get out of bed!
Put lunch in microwave to heat up.
While lunch is heating up put in contacts, mascara on, hair brushed and put up.
Make another tea for the journey and While kettle is boiling again brush teeth.
Shoes and coat on.
Say bye to the kids.
Out of the door at 7am.

I have a cup of tea and breakfast on the bus. Usually texting kids to make sure they remember everything!

Where is the hair drying in these posts? I've got thin, not long hair that dries straight, zero styling and that takes at least 5 mins.

I wash mine the night before (well about once or twice a week) if necessary i will stick some dry shampoo on in the morning.

HappyCamperTent · 07/12/2023 22:25

3 and a half hours. Breakfast, shower, hair styling, full face of make up, dressing…. No dc, no dh, no dog. I get up at 4:30 to princess myself

mdinbc · 07/12/2023 22:31

I always woke up 30 min before kids to give myself time to shower and eat. Now children are adults I still take my time. I give myself about 1 hr 15min

shower 10
breakfast/coffee with magazine 20
dry hair, do teeth, makeup, 15
make bed, tidy room, tidy kitchen 15
take vitamins while i throw ball for dog 10-15 min

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 07/12/2023 22:52

I’m slow! On a day in work my alarm goes at 7.07.

Get cat’s breakfast, make a cup of tea while she eats then let her out
Shower, including wash hair
Makeup, dress, dry hair
Make another cup of tea, possibly one for DP if he is WFH (if he’s in work he’s out before me and sorts the cat)
Make/eat porridge. Get lunch out of the fridge
Brush teeth, lipstick on, cat in, coat on
Out at about 8.20, walk to work, grab another cup of tea, start work at 9

Mincepiesrus · 07/12/2023 22:58

About 1hr 45, shower, hair, makeup, breakfast and rounding up kids

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 07/12/2023 23:32

About an hour and a half - and half of this time is spent drinking tea and staring into space/ checking my phone. I can't rush in the morning - I would feel sick . Actual grooming doesn't take long as I don't do makeup outside of light foundation and don't really style my hair. I always eat breakfast .

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 07/12/2023 23:41

Add on another half an hour if I was to wash my hair.

KThnxBye · 07/12/2023 23:46

I’ve got it down to 9 minutes but can’t seem to get it any lower.

Leisurely mornings are a a holiday treat.

MrsCharlieD · 07/12/2023 23:48

2 hours. In that time i:

Get up
Have breakfast
Empty dishwasher
Get kids up
Sort kid's breakfast
Shower
Make beds
Get dressed
Do makeup- I do a full face everyday if I'm leaving the house
Get kids clean and dressed
Feed pets
Shoes and coats on
Our the door by 8am fir school run

IntheSnowySnowyMountains · 07/12/2023 23:48

When I was younger and I worked I could do it in 45 mins. Including shower m breakfast and makeup. I'd add an extra 15 mins if washing hair. Wasn't an early start but I am useless at mornings. Now I need to allow at least an hour (ideally 1hr 15 - and I don't even have a shower, I have one the night before!) I have no idea why it takes so long, except I am old and the cats are intent on killing me!

EeesandWhizz · 07/12/2023 23:49

3 minutes from leaving my bed until getting in the car.

I only need to roll out of bed, go to the loo, jump into some clothes, shoes and the car is about 6' from the door. It's a bit of a cheat though as all I do is drive DD to the bus stop and I'm home again 12 minutes later, then feed the dog, myself and horses and the day starts.

kitsuneghost · 07/12/2023 23:58

15min.
I shower the night before. Clothes are out, lunch is ready
All I heed to do is stick on my clothes, brush my teeth, put lunch in a bag, make coffee and go

OnlyCorrect · 08/12/2023 00:04

I CAN do it in 10 minutes flat, but prefer 45 to allow breakfast, coffee and properly enjoying my morning skincare routine. Easy enough as I'm an evening bather, always sort clothes/bag/lunch the night before and have no kids/pets to wrangle.

AllRoadsLeadHome · 08/12/2023 00:11

I like to work out in the morning so if I do that, don’t rush getting myself ready and sort the animals, it’s at least couple of hours.

TheChosenTwo · 08/12/2023 00:18

In theory it could be about 5 minutes (WFH 4 days a week and tend to log on at 8:30) but I have to get the youngest up at 6:55 and 3 days a week I go swimming and am up at 5:45 so I can do that before getting him up! - if I didn’t have him to get up I would swim at 7:30 and be back in time for work).
Generally when I wfh I need a 2 minute shower to wake up, 2 minutes to brush teeth then throw clothes on and be at my desk. I don’t do breakfast or hot drinks.

mondaytosunday · 08/12/2023 00:55

Half an hour. Though I can do it in 15 if really up against it - this includes shower but no breakfast.

ithinkthatmaybeimdreaming · 08/12/2023 04:30

I usually get up at 6.30 am and when I worked started at 8.30, leaving home around 8.15 to walk there. However, much of that time was spent on the computer - I could actually get ready and out the door in half an hour (including breakfast and a shower) if I needed to.

useitorlose · 08/12/2023 05:51

Get up at 5.20, dress myself, walk dog, back home at 6.20, shower, wash hair, brush teeth, body lotion, perfume etc, dry and straighten hair, make up, get dressed, earrings in, say goodbye to DH and dog, grab my packed breakfast and lunch, in the car by 7.15 and at my desk by 7.35. I work flexible hours so can arrive anytime before 9am.

santasknackered · 08/12/2023 08:01

Surely these 10 minute routines can't involve proper skincare?? I'm so slow in comparison! 45 mins feels a rush to me!

No, I cheerfully have no skincare beyond washing my face in the shower.

What's proper? I use a face wash in the shower then moisturise after.

silkyfilament · 08/12/2023 10:22

Too long. I try and get most things done before I head to bed the night before too.
So I get up around 5.30, have a coffee and check messages and email. Tidy around and put laundry on, feed dog, unload dishwasher etc. Have a shower and get dressed. Wake kids at 7. Get them dressed and do their breakfast. More coffee. Put face on, do hair, galvanise kids to leave house by 8.20 and walk the dog on the school run to save time.

How long are you taking to wash your face and stick some moisturiser on. It takes me a couple of minutes
