How long does it take you from when you get out of bed to when you leave the house. doesn't matter what you're doing or where you're going. X

20 mins. Up, down a shot of ACV in warm water, followed by a hot strong coffee. Wash face, clean teeth, tinted moisturiser, dressed and out the door. I have an active job so shower before bed (and when I get home from work). Always have clothes pulled out ready the night before.

How do people manage to do everything in 15 or 20 minutes? Are you actively rushing?

The days I leave home that quickly I’m going to the gym. I literally get out of bed, clean teeth, put on gym kit, take lunch out of the fridge and leave. Clothes and everything else are packed the night before.

Doggymummar · 07/12/2023 20:28

About 10 mins from getting up to being at work. WFH

Burntoutbetty · 07/12/2023 20:31

1 hour. Up at 6.10.

Coffee, get 3 kids dressed and fed with husband's help, iron uniforms, shower, full face of make up, hair, shove everything I need for work in my big bag and out the door at 7.10.

DinosaurPotato · 07/12/2023 20:31

It takes me almost an hour too and I don't eat breakfast at home or make my own lunch (husband does it). That's just getting up, showering, drying hair, make up and getting dressed!

somethingisnotquiteright · 07/12/2023 20:33

I've just had this conversation with DH!
Up at 5:30
Leave at 8:00

2.5 hours to shower, dress, coffee, make up, hair, sort kids lunches etc, more coffee.

Despite have all that time, I still end up running out of time and rushing out the door at 8:05!

LolaSmiles · 07/12/2023 20:34

Around an hour, which includes breakfast for DC and getting them dressed and washed for the day.
I like sitting down together to have breakfast.

An hour as i hate rushing in the morning… straight in the shower, wash my hair dry and style, skincare no make up. Coffee, feed the cats and get the train!

SecondHandFurniture · 07/12/2023 20:46

I mean I leave the house 2 hours 30 minutes after I get up, but that's not really up to me given my 5 year old gets up just before 6! If he wasn't in the house, 45 minutes for a non-hair-wash shower, dressed, cup of tea, breakfast, bit of eyeshadow/mascara/perfume.

wendywoopywoo222 · 07/12/2023 20:50

About 25 minutes.
Feed the dog and take my tablets. Shower and brush my teeth. Get dressed. Put on some mascara and lippy. spray of perfume, coat and boots on. give the dog a treat and out the door.

Hedjwitch · 07/12/2023 20:51

15 mins max. No DC. Dont have breakfast. Short hair that doesnt need fussing with. Minimal make up. Easy.

TheClitterati · 07/12/2023 20:53

About 15 minutes.

Usually get up, loo, teeth, put swim stuff on, have a drink of water, feed cats, grab beach bag & dryrobe & go.

In my mind it takes 5 minutes but it's more like 15.

Cocothepoodle · 07/12/2023 20:57

30 mins if its just me, or 1 hour if its me and the 5 year old for school.

Lovelydovey · 07/12/2023 21:01

Depends where I'm going - 30-45 mins normally to get ready for work. Lower end if I've got everything ready the night before.

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 07/12/2023 21:03

Personally - 30 minutes.

In the days when I had to wrangle 3 DsC- about 7 hours.

Swirls346 · 07/12/2023 21:14

I allow myself an hour. It generally takes a little less.
Coffee first , then shower , get dressed, breakfast, make up, hair.
Have to be at work for 8 and generally have to leave at 715.

JamSandle · 07/12/2023 21:15

15 minutes.

Shower.

Moisturise.

Deodorant and teeth.

Clothes on.

Earrings in.

Mascara and lipstick.

Kwasi · 07/12/2023 21:33

I like an hour if it's just me (which it never is) but 90 minutes-2 hours for me and DC 5yrs.

I need a cup of tea before I start my day. Then we do reading and spellings, followed by laundry, making packed lunches then eating breakfast together at the table before getting ready for school and work.

I don't shower in the morning in winter and I never wear makeup.

My washing machine is always loaded at night and set on timer to finish at 6.30 am.

In case you can't tell, I am definitely a morning person.

5 mins for a shower (inc drying)
5 mins to do make up.
2 mins to put some clothes on.
1 min to put hair in a pony tail.
1 min to brush teeth (I never manage 2 as I get bored)
1 min to grab bag, put coat and shoes on.
done.

Strokethefurrywall · 07/12/2023 22:08

40 mins from 6.30am alarm to leaving the house with the kids at 7.10am.
Thats a non rush amount of time that allows coffee, general phone review and a leisurely amount of time in the bathroom...

Clingfilm · 07/12/2023 22:19

Where is the hair drying in these posts? I've got thin, not long hair that dries straight, zero styling and that takes at least 5 mins.

The night/2 nights before, after I wash it.

I make food, prep my bag and outfit the night before.

I wake up earlier than I get ready, but just to relax and wake up.

The getting ready part takes 15 minutes because all I need is a shower, pop on my clothes (which are already out) and some very light makeup.

I never do my hair (it's wavy so I wash and air dry) so that doesn't take up time either.

CormorantStrikesBack · 07/12/2023 22:21

I wouldn’t wash my hair in the morning.
