I think she wore that on Christmas Day. I like it!

Sidebeforeself · 22/01/2024 18:11

It looks like she’s saying “Oooh!” In that photo!

abc73 · 22/01/2024 18:17

Have name changed to say my friend was there!

LadyEloise1 · 22/01/2024 18:34

I like Camilla's coat too.

KnickerlessParsons · 22/01/2024 23:00

Camilla and Joanna Lumley are looking more alike every day!

Do we like Leti in red? Of course. I think it's a lovely, vibrant colour and she wears it a lot. I'm glad the trousers aren't baggy and it's well tailored, although the jacket has quite a long fit.
Carolina Herrera, natch.

Queen Letizia attended the opening of Girona CongresFest in Lleida

Queen Letizia wore a red longline blazer suit by Carolina Herrera, and a Cylani silk shirt by Hugo Boss. Patrizia Pepe pumps. Talent Tour 2024

I like the red trouser suit but I don't think the strappy shoes go with it

Maireas · 23/01/2024 20:48

Yes, I can't quite see them in detail.

GrouchyKiwi · 23/01/2024 20:52

I like the suit, but something about the fit seems off. Agree about the shoes.

Maireas · 23/01/2024 20:57

I think it's the jacket, @GrouchyKiwi - it's a bit of an unusual shape.

Really. I've zero ideas with three of our royals poorly. It's a blah time of year all round.

Maybe I'll put some tiaras, jewellery on the dogs to cheer myself up.

I'll have a dig into history maybe, we've had some amazing tales of historical figures who've lived interesting lives.

Maireas · 23/01/2024 21:11

Go for it, @justasking111 !

The habit of afternoon tea was promoted by Anna Russell the 7th Duchess of Bedford. Before then it was breakfast and dinner, no lunches so one was somewhat famished. That is until the Duchess came along. So the next time you treat yourselves raise a cup to her.

The History of Afternoon Tea

How did tea drinking become so popular in England? Believe it or not, Portugal was probably the most responsible. In 1662, when Charles II married a member of the Portuguese royal family, Catherine of Braganza, she brought tea with her as part of her d...

Thanks - interesting. Also thanks to Catherine of Braganza for bringing tea as part of her dowry.

As a very long-time lurker, (who absolutely loves the calm, generous spirit of, and knowledge shared within, the threads), may I be so bold as to suggest something along the lines of ‘Looking forward to spring with tea and tiaras’

Yes who'd have thought that the Portuguese introduced us to tea 😊

I like this suggestion. Tea and tiaras should be in there somewhere.

Also maybe the No Woman Left Behind motto from the start of this thread (iirc).

Eaumyword · 23/01/2024 22:27

I like it @Somewhereoverthesea!
Love Leti's red trouser suit. She looks fantastic in that glorious red shade.

Yes, I can't quite see them in detail.

The shoes have double straps (ankle and cross-foot) and a chunky heel. I think its both the style and the dark beige (mushroom?) colour of the shoes that don't really work with vibrant red

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 24/01/2024 07:06

I’ve started to have to wear straps with heel as it helps my foot pain. Maybe Letizia is similar?

Maireas · 24/01/2024 07:30

I think you're right, someone upthread reported that Letizia has been having foot problems.

Maireas · 24/01/2024 07:35

Thanks, they look nice. Leti recently wore some flat ankle strap ballerina shoes which I thought looked lovely.
