@RockaLock yes I think a dark olive would work, also the slate brown they have a lot of cord in

faustina · 13/12/2023 19:42

I got my card in the post today (very late - it was already dusk!). I heard on the news that actual cards are being delayed by Royal Mail to prioritise parcel deliveries so that could be why some of you haven't received yours?

RockaLock · 13/12/2023 19:42

Yes, @Snowyowl78, that would also be lovely. I just really suit all the sludgy colours Grin

Countmeout · 13/12/2023 19:46

Well they’re not doing a very good job then @faustina as my return parcel is in limbo somewhere 😬🤣

Is it just me that thinks that calling something a ‘knitted jacket’ is just a way to charge more for a cardigan?

I really like the ones mentioned upthread, but imo, they are cardies!

HoldingOnForAHeron · 13/12/2023 19:51

@Dee1224 , no. A knitted jacket is usually a bit thicker and more structured.

Dee1224 · 13/12/2023 19:52

I hear you @HoldingOnForAHeron but if it looks like a cardie…🤣

Countmeout · 13/12/2023 19:55

Is it not like a coatigan just being a long cardie @Dee1224 . And costing more.

lordloveadog · 13/12/2023 19:58

Thanks Snowy, I reckon I'll try that jumpsuit!

HoldingOnForAHeron · 13/12/2023 20:02

@Dee1224 , was it Boiled Wool Knitted Wrap Jacket | Navy | TOAST

Snowyowl78 · 13/12/2023 20:11

It’s thicker than a cardigan that ‘jacket’ and more structured around the cuffs/hem/neck. Sort of a bomber shape. Cardi-esque though for sure!

OftenOrange · 13/12/2023 20:11

@HolidayAtNight I have washed cupro with good results , items from Toast and Humanoid .
My Toast cupro skirt doesn’t say dry clean and looks awful when wet , but irons beautifully and still looks perfect .
I have several cupro tops from Humanoid , but had a horrible incident with a pale blue one :it was a hot Summer’s evening and I was performing in a music event ,on arriving after a tube journey I had swears dark blue armpits ( and I’m normally like a dry lizard !) It was really horrible, I had to think WTF and
go for the music 🎼 but the awareness of the malfunction was still there.

It’s put me off man made fibre tops however ‘natural’ !!!
These textiles are not breathable.

Dee1224 · 13/12/2023 20:23

I’d not seen that one @HoldingOnForAHeron - I’d think of that as a wrap.

I am with you @Countmeout - my DH howled when I asked him if he’d seen my coatigan the other day. He then pointed me in the direction of various cardigans in the vicinity!

I do like the thicker blue one that’s £225 - maybe it will be in a future sale 🤞

mizu · 13/12/2023 21:57

@Saurus72 oh that dress is just up my street, absolutely gorgeous!

Brillenbar47 · 14/12/2023 07:07

I ordered the new blue cord wrap waist jumpsuit at 930 last night and it's already dispatched! Maybe they have extra elves working this Christmas?

lordloveadog · 14/12/2023 07:08

I really like this dress that Saurus posted, but fear it might be one of those that only works on narrow shoulders, like the beautiful ikat one. If anyone tries it, could you give us the lowdown?

They're really trying to make those knitted ponchos happen, aren't they?!

Has anyone actually tried one? I can't think how I'd get anything done without it getting all bunched up and in the way of my arms.

I like the new ones they’ve got, not too sure about the first ones they had this season, but I don’t know how I’d get any use from them, the last drop has some good pieces I’m liking, I’ve not found much since summer I’m really loving …

card arrived yesterday, it’s nice enough to frame I think

applecatchers36 · 14/12/2023 10:35

Some nice new things in the latest drop. Love to see pics of the jumpsuits when they arrive ladies!

Feeling toasty today got my belted trews and alpaca buttoned jerkin on today, which has been a good investment as worn so much already ...

Countmeout · 14/12/2023 10:40

I agree @applecatchers36 the alpaca buttoned vest/jerkin/waistcoat was well worth it. And provides so much extra warmth.

I thought the poncho was worth a look after seeing it styled on a video over a coat as a sort of scarf thing .

card is nice mine arrived this morning. I think it would look lovely in a frame @Firesideknitting .
Here’s mine offset by the £2 Sainsbury’s lights 😬

I tried the knitted poncho in store - it’s lovely and soft - I was expecting the fabric to get in the way of my arms but it was fine. It sat beautifully over the gingham dress and I had full range of arm movement. I didn’t buy it because I’m saving my pennies for a cropped jumper, but I was sorely tempted.

Oh My - the Solovair Mary Janes in olive😍

Dee1224 · 14/12/2023 10:58

Like the lights and card combo @Countmeout

Day four of raging Covid here at DeeTowers, unfortunately, so I am wearing an old nightie and a temperature 😾.

Enjoying looking at new stuff on toast site , but not ordering.

Saurus72 · 14/12/2023 11:04

Love the card in situ!

What’s on everyone’s sale wish list this year? Mine is very short and very focused:

The Greta floral dress - I tried this on back in September and really liked it but I had bought 2 toast dresses in the previous month, and had the tiered crinkle one on my list for the festive season. I hope I can buy this in the sale - it was far less bright in the flesh and I think I’d get a lot of wear out of it.

Chie Mihara flat sandals. I’m looking for a pair of the very flat navy/tan/red sandals Toast seems to stock every year. They were in last summer’s sale and I’ve regretted not ordering them then.

And that’s it! I’m also planning to buy this black cashmere jumper - I already bought the ‘mole’ colour which I’ve worn so much. I saw it on Ruth Crilly’s Instagram and love it. Followed her recommendation to size up and it’s been a staple wfh jumper.

And that’s it - after a Toast sock buying frenzy I really don’t need any more for a while, let’s see if I can keep my resolve.

MrsCat1 · 14/12/2023 12:13

@Saurus72
I too am potentially interested in the Greta dress. I have one in that style (wore it last night) and think I might try a companion for it. I'd like to try the linen silk jacquard dress and see if I can alter it to make the skirt stick out less. And that's it.

But I do really fancy the painted daisy shirt that has just come in.

I don't buy Toast knitwear any more after a bad experience with a jumper that pilled incredibly badly. I spoke to customer service and they said that was just the way it was. So I've never risked it again and now buy from Johnstons of Elgin, Finisterre and others. Should I re-consider Toast knitwear- am I missing out?
