General “waifs and strays” beauty advent calendar opening thread

As in previous years, this a thread for those opening Beauty Advent Calendars not covered by specific calendar opening threads (though also happy for contents of those to be shared here too).

As previously, it will also be fun to hear about other calendar openings - food, jam, socks anyone?

Please do not include spoilers before 7am on the relevant day. Please also avoid dropping hints or spoilers about future contents if you have opened the calendar in advance.

I’ll be opening the Vogue and Selfridges calendars this year. Really looking forward to Day 1.

Day 12 Harrods is the BioEffect EGF Serum. Very happy as this is one of the main reasons I wanted this calendar. Have heard rave reviews about this product so will be interesting to see if it lives up to the hype!

Day 12:

Vogue: Ironically after my comments yesterday, today is two samples - a Sisley face cream and a Sisley face mask. That said I have used and liked the face mask previously, and a full size of the cream apparently has an RRP of £390 (!) so will be interesting to try in any event.

Selfridges: 111Skin Rose quartz mask. Not a brand a particularly rate, so not a great day for Selfridges.

Diptyque is another candle. Santal , which is a lovely one that I have often had a sniff at in shops but never bought!

SpaceNK today is a Bread hair oil (which smells amazing!) and a travel size color wow dream coat. I love a double door and will definitely use both products so very pleased!

Excited for today’s tights reveal!!

I like the Boots Premium calendar so far. It has a bit too much skincare but the sizes are very generous. I’ve used the shampoo and not very keen on it, find it hard to lather.

It’s mostly been lovely though.

@Dogsitterwoes I somehow wish they had put the most sensible pair somewhere in the middle and put one of the more eccentric pairs at the end.

I am disappointed that you are at the end of yours now, but I have really enjoyed your calendar.

Day 12 Diptyque: Santal votive.

Not one of my favourites but I do like sandalwood and similar scents so it'll be used and enjoyed.

Oh, those tights are a bit of anticlimax. I think they should have put the crotchless ones as the final day surprise! Grin

They're unexpectedly sensible @Dogsitterwoes! Have you actually opened them up fully, as there could still be a pair of big Santa and Rudolph faces across the bottom cheeks!

Thanks for entertaining us with your tights, I hope you manage to get wear out of them even if some are strictly reserved for WFH days!

I do think the snag calendar could be great for teachers who have to participate in world book day each year. I mean not the crotchless ones...

Sad to see the end of the tights.

By Terry drawer today contained a travel size bottle of makeup remover. Will be used but isn't exciting.

Handcream in OK Advent today. Looks interesting scent (Bergamot and Ginger). Quite a good day for me as always need a handcream

Thank you!! I'm happy with it! I got to try the scent and I have to say, Rose from Fenwick Customer Service was soo lovely.

I don't think I'd buy it tbh...it has so much Oud which seems to be the in thing, even among cheap perfumes.

I'm also disappointed the tights are at an end - also surprised at the staidness of the final pair... but what fun @Dogsitterwoes thank you for the reveals.

My F&M homemade one had a Barbara Sturm Vit C serum which is rather fancy.
