As in previous years, this a thread for those opening Beauty Advent Calendars not covered by specific calendar opening threads (though also happy for contents of those to be shared here too).

As previously, it will also be fun to hear about other calendar openings - food, jam, socks anyone?

Please do not include spoilers before 7am on the relevant day. Please also avoid dropping hints or spoilers about future contents if you have opened the calendar in advance.

I’ll be opening the Vogue and Selfridges calendars this year. Really looking forward to Day 1.

@TragicMuse the Origins lotion is for the face. I’ve had it before. It’s basically like a toner. I just poured a little into my hands and splashed onto my face but you could apply on a cotton pad. I can’t say I noticed it ever doing much!

AprilLady · 10/12/2023 09:13

Day 10:

Vogue: Full size Murad Hydro Dynamic moisturiser, which looks good.

Selfridges: Malin and Goetz travel size candle in dark rum. Like the scent, so happy with this too.

Day 10 Harrods Elemis Pro Collagen Overnight Matrix. This is more like it and is one of the products I’ve been wanting to try. Very happy with this.

Day 10 Diptyque: Feu de Bois votive.

This is another household favourite so very happy with today's offering!

snowfootsteps · 10/12/2023 10:16

By Terry was the Baume de Rose Crystal Mini- a travel-sized tinted lip balm that sells for £16. Used this one before as has appeared in another advent. It's a good product but a bit heavily scented for me.

lookingforMolly · 10/12/2023 10:20

My advent calendar made by my sister:

Day 8 - a Czech crystal posy basket

Day 9 - a 'crazy cat lady' (me??) earring dish

Day 10 - a snowman tree decoration

My sister collects Czech crystal glass so I suspect day 8's present was from her collection, it's pretty though.

I do have a cat that I spoil.. so day 9 not wrong.

I'm going to put the snowman on my tree.

REN face oil in Boots Premium.

Quite pleased with this. I like a face oil. REN can sometimes be unpleasant smelling so hopefully not the case with this one.

I was pleased with this one too, I am currently burning a Feu du Bois in my sitting room, so happy to have another one ready. It really does smell like a wood fire, but in a not getting in your clothes or hair way.

Falalalalaa · 10/12/2023 13:03

I have a LF advent calendar and I’m on the thread for that, but I’m just here to see all the lovely things in other advent calendars.*

I love the advent calendar your sister has made for you @lookingforMolly, how thoughtful!

*really just here for the tights.

Salt. I got salt.

Degustabox - not a great few days.

The Baileys salted caramel sweets were delicious though.

I got this lip balm one year in an AC and it's absolutely the best if you have really dry cracked lips which I don't often get but this is the only thing that sorts it out

Mirrormeback · 10/12/2023 15:54

@Nowtbettertodo yes DD said she'd happily use it in the bath

I'm really liking my No 7 AC so far with decent products I'll use.

So pleased I decided to buy an AC at the last minute after all

It does bring joy in these dark wet months

Mirrormeback · 10/12/2023 15:57

@Nowtbettertodo your lift and luminate had sold out so I went for the restore and renew during Black Friday.

I've tried protect and perfect before but not so keen on the moisturisers as I recall but my skin is drier now I use retirides so the heaviness of it might suit now.

Pinenu · 10/12/2023 15:58

The salt has become a Degusta staple, very happy with it.

But not as happy as I am with my refill. Today was a bath bomb and a ‘get out of an event with the in-laws’ pass. So that’s my Boxing Day sorted 😏

CinnamonCoffee · 10/12/2023 18:35

Day 10 LIB and another diy drawer. Rare beauty liquid eyeliner and an hourglass lipstick.

@Pinenu If you were going to put any of your products on the sell or swap thread I'd be interested in the ‘get out of an event with the in-laws’ pass please.

Ooh, thanks @Peridot1! I'll give it a go!

Winter spice oil in H&B today. Will add it to the shower collection!

Mirrormeback · 11/12/2023 03:34

My internet is going down for the day so I'm posting day 11 Boots No 7 R&R

It's the day moisturiser that I want to try out

Penguins are just above knee-level I think.

Missed yesterday's so Snag day 10. Good if you have a chap for ooh-la-la, or thrush, but I have neither.

Snag day 11. Photo doesn't do the eye-watering limeness of the green justice - I Iike these.

TragicMuse · 11/12/2023 07:42

Ah, the mock garters. I've seen those @Dogsitterwoes and I don't think they're for me...

LF is a shampoo and conditioner duo for coloured fine hair. Since my hair is both newly dyed and fine these will be really useful and I do love a bit of haircare!

Ciate is a pale...orange? Pink? Orangey-pink? Not sure it's for me. Maybe I'll like it in the summer!

Today's By Terry drawer is the CC Serum in Sunny Flash, which I've been looking forward to trying. It's teeny sized and has 'Free Sample' stamped on the back of the tube. Value £0.

I am getting a bit bored of 'By Terry' which was always the risk of a single brand calendar. If I get one next year, will be a multi-brand.
