Beauty Advent Calendars 2023 Part E - Last Buying Thread Till Doors Open

Stoic123 · 22/11/2023 20:57

Roll up, roll up for bargain spotting and anticipation.

This is a thread to discuss the buying of beauty calendars and not the opening of them. There may be general discussion about contents of a calendar but please do not share information about what is behind a specific door you've opened. Thank you

Can't believe there aren't any better discounts on the calendars by now. Ugh.

When someone opens their bridal mystery box could you put some spoilers on here? I'm so tempted but scared haha.

ArtfullyCrumpled · 25/11/2023 22:17

Ha! Purchased HN with order confirmation at 13:19 and then an email came in at 16:55 saying NN beauty advent calendar no longer in stock please accept a free delivery on your next purchase as an apology.

Looking at Plan C..... and it might be just buying a luxury candle, luxury bath oil and luxury moisturiser and forgetting about the whole advent drawer novelty!

ArtfullyCrumpled · 25/11/2023 22:20

HN I meant to type not NN. So I think Harvey Nichols is definitely out of stock now.

Stoic123 · 25/11/2023 22:44

So - just trying to get a sense of what is still showing in stock (multi-brand) online.

Sold out: Selfridges, HN, Harrods, Fortnums, JL, Space NK, Sephora, Boots Premium, Anthropologie, M&S, Debenhams, Flannels, Glossybook, H&B, Liberty, Look Fantastic, Macmillan, Naturismo,

Still showing in stock: Fenwicks 12 Day (£148.50), Cult Beauty (£200), Vogue (£350), Next (£80)

I think if Vogue reduced price, lots would pounce and Next seems a good price to address FOMO (small sizes but good brands). It's a fall from grace for Cult Beauty this year and EGF lovers will probably go for Fenwicks if they reduce to under £100.

Have I missed anything off?

Thoughts?

My Elle calendar arrived today and it's huge. I'd have loved a more expensive one (Vogue...swoon) but this looks great for £99.

Stoic123 · 25/11/2023 23:03

Thank @Snowplop

Elle also looks like sold out as does LIB.

Am pondering Mac. As I did last year. And the year before...

Fenwick AC 30% off in store? Where? Only 10% off at Fenwick Bond St two hours ago

Edited

Was in the Canterbury store. The advent was behind a glass case with a 30% off this product label inside.

Dee1224 · 26/11/2023 00:24

Thanks for the round up,@Stoic123

Clarins 12 day a/c is still available. The 24 day calendar is sold out on their site, but available from Selfridges with 10% off if you are signed up with them.

L’Occitaine’s calendars seem widely available instore and online.

Theraffarian · 26/11/2023 06:21

I walked past Rituals on Friday and the AC in the window looked beautiful, above my price point , but two are still in stock .

KevinDeBrioche · 26/11/2023 08:19

NaP still in stock. And still over priced IMO!

Stoic123 · 26/11/2023 08:20

Thanks. The Ritual ones have been very popular in the past. I've gone for a single brand calendar this year and there still seems to be some good ones around.

My aim is a low/no spend in 2024 (clothes/beauty/candles). If I've stuck to it by September, I'm hoping my beauty backlog will have gone down enough for me to be excited by the multi-brands (and to justify buying one) again. I will be rubbing some expensive (non-HG) face serum into my buttocks all year 😂

@KevinDeBrioche - ooh missed that one - thanks

LiB still showing as available in TikTok., lowest price £108 for me. Still not tempted.

Looking back I think OK and Elle were the best value, accessible AC, for decent products. It's a shame the quality of the OK packaging is poor - the feedback on here indicated that to be the case.

Stoic123 · 26/11/2023 08:29

Gosh NAP at 30% off is still £192.50 - 15 items in an LED lantern for their version of a calendar. Agree too expensive.

OP posts:
Stoic123 · 26/11/2023 08:30

@Branster - that's interesting. It's not showing on the LIB website for me.

Maybe they allocated some stock just for TikTok? Or maybe the tiktok shop is incorrect and they need to update availability?
LiB had a strange approach this year with their discounts.

Ilikeyoursleeves · 26/11/2023 08:57

@Grimchmas is there a MAC discount code? Anyone else know? I've been pondering it too

kerstina · 26/11/2023 10:14

I do think Fenwick is overpriced considering it’s only 12 days .

pinkchampagne1 · 26/11/2023 10:57

The Fenwick calendar does have some pricy items in so I think the value of products is worth over £700. Strange that it had a 30% off in Canterbury yesterday but only 10% online.
They had a few calendars with 50% off in Fenwicks. I picked up the Lindt one and Lego Harry Potter for half price but they also had a popcorn one and a tea one.

Greenrabbit · 26/11/2023 11:04

The Accessorize calendar is down to £21 on ASOS when you use the code HAUL.

MotherofTerriers · 26/11/2023 11:14

I'd pounce on the vogue one if the price dropped

Chouxpastryishard · 26/11/2023 11:27

Harrods is the only one I wish I’d bought.

Dee1224 · 26/11/2023 11:49

Not an a/c, (and nowhere near as good as in previous years), but Estée Lauder’s blockbuster gift (£85 with £50 purchase), stacks with their current BLACKFRIDAY code.

This code gives a free mascara if you spend £60, and a free advanced night repair eye serum if you spend £100.

There is also 25% off most items, (not the bb set, unfortunately!)

The site is glitchy atm due to traffic - it’s a fantastic deal - but worth persevering if you ‘need’ some EL stuff.

Yes, the last couple of years their products size-wise don't compare to other multi brand calendars. It's a shame, too, as their boxes are always so nice.
