Beauty Advent Calendars 2023 Part D- waiting till December?

Stoic123 · 31/10/2023 22:18

Or will you start opening in November?

Either way, it's not long now......time to make your choice (s).

I’ll be gutted if I don’t get one this year so maybe I should stop being stingy and buy one. My beauty stash is very much under control having sold/ used/ gifted lots. Then again I was going to sign up to the beauty drop so maybe I’ll just wait for that.

Not to be an enabler, but if you genuinely feel you'd be sad to miss out come 1st December I think you should get one. It brings me such enjoyment to open my calendar and read all the threads throughout December, so worth it for me and I'd be sad not to be able to join in (I appreciate it's a massive privilege to be able to afford to).

I complained about the lack of serum as well, but they ran out of it, so instead they surprisingly refunded the entire £40. Hadn't expected that! I think I was in the minority on that resolution, though.

Wow that's amazing. You definitely got the best deal.

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 19/11/2023 15:17

JL will only refund if you bought it within the last 30 days before the price drop. Sadly I bought mine at the start so no refund for me. 😢

pinkchampagne1 · 19/11/2023 20:35

I think you are covered for the JL refund for 35 days from your purchase.

It might be worth emailing them and saying how disappointed you are that you’re just outside the window for a refund. I did this last year and they sent me a JL voucher to cover the difference

The Bonne Maman jam AC is down to £18.99 on Amazon. I may have succumbed....

itsalongwaybackfromsorry · 19/11/2023 23:02

Oooh, we'd all actually enjoy that @Housewife2010 ! I've just succumbed as well.

pinkchampagne1 · 20/11/2023 08:26

I see there is 20% off the Sephora favourites box now but no discount on the advent calendar yet

Peridot1 · 20/11/2023 08:26

Thanks for that @Housewife2010! I’ve just ordered that and a jigsaw one! That’s me sorted. The jams will obviously get used and I love a Christmas jigsaw so an Advent one is perfect! I will be happy and not feel I’m missing out and won’t be adding to my stash.

Me too.
It arrived a few days ago and is beautiful.
Will be a Christmas decoration unto itself!

Housewife2010 · 20/11/2023 09:09

So far we have Liberty, Anthropologie, Degustabox, Bonne Maman and I've filled an old Liberty AC with Lindors. I bought the Style LIB one for £101 on tiktok and I've already opened it. The items I sold almost paid for the items I kept.

Housewife2010 · 20/11/2023 09:11

And the brilliant offer of the White Stuff 12 day sock AC which will be a Christmas present for my son for the 12 days of Christmas.

Lilothblos · 20/11/2023 09:19

The big Hotel Chocolat advent calendar is now reduced by 20% (£75 to £60) for anyone interested.

@Housewife2010 that is a great deal for the LiB one! I’ve been keeping an eye on Tiktok but haven’t seen it reduced anywhere near that much.

Watchingpaintdrying · 20/11/2023 09:27

Latest in beauty advent looks good but not reduced. I have no idea how to use tik tok either!

FinallyFinalGirl · 20/11/2023 09:55

I caved and bought Jo Malone. It was the only one I was pining for and so I did it. I will not be spending any more money on myself for the rest of my life.

Puravida23 · 20/11/2023 10:10

Anyone interested in LIB get on TikTok I just picked it up for £98 It may go lower who knows with TikTok.
Already bought one but having split it up and used some of the items DD decided she wanted one!

Lilothblos · 20/11/2023 10:31

@Puravida23 on mine its showing for £122, I guess it jumps up and down then? Unless there’s a discount code somewhere?

Could you give an idiots guide to buying on tik tok please?

Puravida23 · 20/11/2023 10:51

@Lilothblos you get TikTok vouchers which you can apply which reduces the price further. They also have a TikTok live shop which if you buy from when LIB is featured reduces the price further. (Think it is insight or something ) . The vouchers change all the time . I had 3 higher prices before I eventually got £98 ( I only wanted to buy it for a two digit number!). Just make sure you are buying from Latest in Beauty as there are a few scam sites on there

Housewife2010 · 20/11/2023 10:54

Also mute your phone before you open Tiktok.

Puravida23 · 20/11/2023 10:57

@Watchingpaintdrying to be honest I just put what I want in my basket and then apply the TikTok vouchers and just keep refreshing and applying new vouchers if they are better the price seems to move quite a bit depending on those. I think further discounts can be gained through buying through the TikTok live stream shops as well as they have their own vouchers which can be applied as well. I am quite a novice though myself as I have only bought from LIB there seems to be a lot of messing around until eventually by magic you suddenly get a lower price

Lilothblos · 20/11/2023 10:57

Ah I think it’s the vouchers I’m having a problem with, there seems to be a 20% off one but it won’t work for me for some reason. I’ll keep trying!

Puravida23 · 20/11/2023 10:59

@Lilothblos possibly try a different device too. I sometimes get better deals on my phone than my iPad . no idea why!

Great choice! I was torn between Jo Malone, Jo Loves and Diptique but Diptique won this year. Next year I might get Jo Malone or Jo Loves.

FinallyFinalGirl · 20/11/2023 11:30

Thanks @SwordBilledHummingbird I might go for Diptique next year as it always looks so beautiful. I have seen women on this site say they get so much happiness from opening it, so I'll return the compliment.Grin

I'm so excited about it. I have never owned a Jo Malone scent before, apart from a few little samples that I have loved.
