That’s exciting @dudsville, I have an unused pod of intense black that’s waiting to redye my jumpsuit and jersey dress and maybe a garment dyed shirt! How did you find the clean up?

Countmeout · 02/11/2023 08:31

I like the jumpsuit on you @ScottishMouse . I think it looks as if it could be comfortable.

Glad you’re pleased with the dye @dudsville .

Very comfortable @Countmeout , but I had another good look this morning in better light and it is just too big. At certain angles it makes me look huge around the hips - and I have no hips at all! It’ll need to go back.

Hi, I’ve a couple of Toast pieces to sell. Do people think Vinted or Ebay is better? Thanks.

Hi, I’ve a couple of Toast pieces to sell. Do people think Vinted or Ebay is better? Thanks.

I've have had a big clear out recently and I have sold a lot of things on ebay. I'm happy with the prices I got, I think I was fair with starting/buy it now prices. Most of my things have sold quickly. I only had a couple of Toast items, one sold within minutes!

It's a few years since I last sold on ebay, and it feels as though their fees are quite high now, but on the other hand I have had no hassle. I've never used Vinted so can't comment on that

redfacebigdisgrace · 02/11/2023 12:55

Brilliant, thanks @MsDastardley

Stoic123 · 02/11/2023 12:58

@redfacebigdisgrace

In my view:

The Facebook selling group (set up by @ilovecherries) is best for speed (if you price keenly- gone in under an hour) and eBay is best for making money as can price high if good stuff. If I've got something popular, I auction. Otherwise use 'Buy it Now' only and disable offers.

For eBay- register for seller offers. Won't be long before you get one. My first batch was sold for £1 eBay costs.

Others will need to tell you about Vinted.

I've just had a delivery. I got the straight denim skirt, which looks really nice. However, a few of the reviews mentioned the dodgy buttonhole on the side fastening, and they are not wrong. I think it is quite poor, it's cut almost on the edge of the waistband and is a bit frayed. I've ironed it and it looks better. I'm going to keep the skirt because it looks so nice, and is unlike any others I have. I love a denim skirt and wear them for work a lot!

I also got the Fracap green monkey boots, and I love them. Again, not like anything I already have. I tried them with the denim skirt and also my Annie jeans, and they look fab. Not sure if they slip a bit, so will try with different socks later.

I'm really enjoying this thread, and inspired by what you are all are wearing. My pocket not so much! I've justified my latest buys by having a big clear out!

dudsville · 02/11/2023 13:42

The clean up was fine @Snowyowl78 , after the initial wash i did run a cloth around the rubber and door bits, then did the 2nd wash with laundry detergent, the took the trousers out and a 30 min empty cycle. I've since washed a duck egg blue towel and it was fine. I don't think the pic captures it as its so dark here, but here are my "no longer whinsical" ordinary trousers!

applecatchers36 · 02/11/2023 13:52

They look great dudsville I am inspired to attempt the same with some cream PJ's that don't work with my lifestyle involving small children and pets!

dudsville · 02/11/2023 14:06

They look pale or medium grey in that pic but they're actually dark and slightly blue.

I know what you mean @applecatchers36 , I have the pets but not small children, and a fabulous pair of "clay" coloured trousers that I kept for dry events out of the house! Of course with your pj's you will have the thread issue. Someone on here once said they didn' mind that, maybe it was you?

I like the sound of your skirt (minus the dodgy button hole) and boots @MsDastardley !

MsDastardley · 02/11/2023 14:49

Thank you Dudsville 😀. Its good to have a change

Now if I keep the boots I’m going to have to busy some nice socks. I like the Japanese ones

PretLea · 02/11/2023 15:14

Just catching up on the thread now. Hope things get easier for you @ScottishMouse.

@MsDastardley those boots have been on my wish list for so long, absolutely beautiful. I have the Nishiguchi Kutsushita socks and they are incredibly warm and comfortable.

I have used Vinted for my more recent sales, since someone here recommended it, and I’ve only had good experiences on there.

Snowyowl78 · 02/11/2023 15:20

Good job @dudsville !

ooh @Countmeout is that the only new thing?

MsDastardley · 02/11/2023 15:34

Thanks @PretLea I’ll try some socks soon.

Nanasueathome · 02/11/2023 15:48

I just checked my order history
i bought a couple of items, reduced, on 28th November last year
was there a sale then?

Countmeout · 02/11/2023 15:49

Not my post @Snowyowl78 but had a quick look before going to the PO. Couldn’t see anything else. Those are the ones with the very dropped crotch did someone comment before?

OP posts:
Snowyowl78 · 02/11/2023 15:52

Ooh sorry @Countmeout it was @Theteapotsbrokenspout :)

Countmeout · 02/11/2023 15:54

I see win your wish list is back.

OP posts:
Theteapotsbrokenspout · 02/11/2023 15:55

@Snowyowl78 I was just looking at ordering the black and the sage green popped up - I don’t know if there’s anything else new.

The green appear to be a few cm longer than the black, now dithering over which to order.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 02/11/2023 16:26

Couldn't make up my mind - have ordered both Smile

PretLea · 02/11/2023 17:03

@Dee1224 I’d be really interested in some knitwear and coats at SM, if you’d still be happy to post pictures.

Dee1224 · 02/11/2023 17:20

No problem @PretLea - which sizes are you interested in?

Dee1224 · 02/11/2023 17:25

The trousers look good @dudsville
J like the look of those in the green @Theteapotsbrokenspout / may add them to my huge wishlist.
