Help me. I feel like shit

I’m a mid 30s mum with a stupid amount of animals and live in the country. I work too much and money isn’t an issue but prefer to avoid stupid expense. I am a size 14:16, often flitting down to a 12-14. Big boobs, generally hour glass but short at 5’2. Stumpy.

I want simple- high end classic vibe but also don’t give a fuck- will last and tolerate being thrown in a washing machine and then tumbled endlessly. I want to be comfortable without it making me look like a sack of spuds.

I do keep up with my eyebrow wax and tint, keep my nails short and natural, keep a pedicure topped up when not hiding my trotters in winter months.

i Live in supermarket pick ups right now and just feel overall a bit unkempt and crap but don’t really know where to start to smarten up without the unrealistic approach of turning into someone who reallllly cares 😂

That’s a nice bag user! I prefer a softer feel/look but that looks very smart:

honestly and truly I’m dealing with CPTSD and somewhat crippling depression though you probably wouldn’t know unless you were one of the extremely few people who know. I’m pretty numb right now. Used to love the thrill of a new purchase - my love for interiors has all but disappeared. I have no creative thought process anymore. I’m not really myself right now so I’m just relying on general consensus of you guys guide me here and I’ll just roll with it until the part of my brain that makes me, me again, kicks back in and decides if I like it really.

I thought smartening myself up a bit might go away to helping me feel like I’m still in the world a bit.

Danger zone of just buying luxury pyjamas and never getting out of bed again except to see to my wonderful pets. Kids could probably fend for themselves 😂

bought some wool socks in various neutrals? I can’t seem to bring myself to take them out of the box until I’ve bought the Birkenstock clogs which for someone reason I’ve decided is the one, and yet seem unable to actually decide what ones to purchase so the socks are just staring at me from the box they came in.

Oh I'm sorry to hear that. Are you having any help with your CPTSD? If it helps, everything on this thread is lovely and it would suggest that you do still have some creative process even if you know that that side of you isn't firing on all cylinders.

I've seen people in those clogs and I think they are much cooler than me! I'm currently in either chelsea boots or chunky lace up boots that I'm very glad to have back out from last year. Maybe tomorrow just pull a pair of socks out without giving any more thought than 'these new socks are going on' - I bet they'd be good with a range of footwear not just the clogs.

Oh yes, I am currently in therapy biweekly. It is hard and I hate it but am also aware necessary. Thank you for asking 😊

yes, tomorrow I will just wear the socks. They do look ever so cosy.

I don’t think I’m cool enough for clogs either but have become weirdly obsessed with the idea of them, possibly because I live in birkies in summer so seems like some kind of obvious seasonal match to me by default.

i have just found a lovely camel coloured wool coat on Vinted. Rrp 230, she had it listed for 80 and I offered 60 so I feel like an immense bargain as it says it was worn once or twice only. Looks in great condition. So now I have the trench (the other one still hasn’t arrived, I’ll need to find the energy to chase that and then return because two trenches seems excessive, the green puffy Barbour and then this new wool. I bought an equidry for the yard so I think I’m suitabley restocked on the coat front.

I have the new bag, and hopefully I’ll find a purse I like soon.

im going to order new Chelsea boots, and some white trainers I think. And the clogs.

I have bought 4 pairs of various “mom” jeans that are high rise. I think I’d like a belt?

am yet to figure out the top half which seems more pressing now we’ve established that I’m not allowed to button up the trench 😂

I’m being stalked by a pretty butter dish online that I think I will also buy. I don’t need a butter dish but I think this all got a bit out of hand quickly anyways so yolo.

Haha get the butter dish as well!

I also like a mom jean. I think they sit well on my waist to give my a bit of shape - I'm a similar size to you. I'm quite predictable on tops. Plain tshirts tucked at the front. I've got a couple of nice jumpers that I also tick at the front. Quite fine knit and square in shape. My favourite is cream with pearls on the front from h and m - getting a bit worn so could do with an update. I think I'm also after a striped jumper this time. If anyone has suggestions I'm open to them. Trying not to spend too much at I'm on mat leave.
