I have a gig lined up for the beginning of next month - I need something to wear

It's quit a big folk gig (normally do ones on a small scale and am there as background noise)

This time I am part of a band and all eyes will be on us

Anyway, I want something nice to wear. Not trousers because they make me look stumpy.

I am 5ft 1, built like a badlt tied sack of spuds, reddy, blondey browny hair. Have big bazookas. I am playing the cello, so it needs to be something that allows me to, ahme, open my legs.

Will see a lot of old faces there - I don;t want them to think I have gorn off.

NO HEELS WIHT WIDE TROUSERS
oh no no no

nailpolish · 08/03/2008 15:45

if you must wear a skirt go to monsoon and buy a long one - you dont want grampa bert in the front row having a coronary

JackieNo · 08/03/2008 15:46

I've had those M&S trousers - they're good. You need a long top/good control pants/very toned tummy to carry them off, imo (or certainly needed numbers 1 and 2 of those in my case).

nailpolish · 08/03/2008 15:46

yes heels

she is short

even just wee ones

hoxtonchick · 08/03/2008 15:46

those fatface dresses are rather nice .

SheikYerbouti · 08/03/2008 15:46

I def can't do loose fit trews because I wobble in them (honest)

God, I am so clueless.

nailpolish · 08/03/2008 15:47

oh PMSL at the mushrooms ones ha ahhahhahaha

JackieNo · 08/03/2008 15:47

Plus, heels can make you feel more powerful and confident (or is that just me?)

SheikYerbouti · 08/03/2008 15:48

Wore full skirted 50's style dress last time I did a Big Gig

But that was when I were 2 stone ligetr than now - putting that on would be like getting toothpaste back into the tube

nailpolish · 08/03/2008 15:48

SheikYerbouti · 08/03/2008 15:50

Yes, have to wear heels, or I look even stumpier

BoysOnToast · 08/03/2008 15:50

am highly sceptical of this velevet trews thing ??? are you all sure? [not convinced]

but yes, black trews under a button through dress, itself over a nice cami or whatever... then with a cropped cardi thing to cover arms.

trews would not be scary over things coz the dress would cover them...

SheikYerbouti · 08/03/2008 15:52

No, I'm not convinced of velvet trews either, sorry

I will try some though, because naily told me to
