Continuing the discussion ...will there be some good discounts?

I don’t think the cult beauty gwp is anything special either. GWP’s are nothing like they used to be when there would be a mini diptyque candle and full sizes. The cult beauty and space nk ones used to be fantastic. Liberty are still good on occasion. I have the feeling advents will take a long time and discounts to shift this year.

beguilingeyes · 26/10/2023 09:36

I have bought the ASOS one as a gift, partly because of the Charlotte Tilbury palette. It was a toss up between that and Looks Fantastic as the best value reasonably priced one.

beguilingeyes · 26/10/2023 09:37

Really ugly box though (ASOS).

Emmmmz9 · 26/10/2023 09:39

@beguilingeyes I bought the ASOS one too yesterday as 20% off. Hate the box! CT palette and few other bits made it worthwhile as gifts for my dd

Pinenu · 26/10/2023 09:43

I’m not tempted by M&S or any of the GWP on offer.

Last year, Space NK kept doing those annoying ‘drops’ after the AC had “sold out” where they’d release a few that would sell out quickly and garner further interest for the next drop.

I can’t be doing with that again. Just sell the blooming things.

RedRiverShore4 · 26/10/2023 09:45

Ilikeviognier · 26/10/2023 08:59

I’m toying with the m and s one! How long do we think I have to decide before it sells out?

I think it tends to sell out online quicker than in store if you have a store you go to, I generally get mine online as our local store doesn't usually stock what I want for the additional £35 spend

pinkchampagne1 · 26/10/2023 10:02

Didn’t CB have a gwp that you got alongside a 10% discount recently?

Theraffarian · 26/10/2023 10:02

I’ve ordered the M&S one , I’m not going to lie it’s more in the price bracket I feel comfortable with . I’ve had H&B for a couple of years and McMillan last year , but neither of those appealed at all this time . Also I’ve ordered jeans with it that aren’t available in my local , which I will keep if they fit as they are about the same price as next lift shape type ones so they don’t feel like a frivolous add on .

YorkieTheRabbit · 26/10/2023 10:26

I’ve also ordered the M&S calendar. Last year I had the JL one which I really enjoyed but this year it doesn’t really appeal this time. Previous years the LF had been fine as had the Next calendars but less so this year. I’d possibly go for the Boots premium if reduced but other than that 🤷‍♀️

Stokey · 26/10/2023 10:35

@Ilikeyoursleeves I was tempted by Harvey Nicks but Cosmetopia released a video yesterday slating it that put me off!

I've yet to succumb but am interested in the Space NK fragrance... As long as there's no more Escentric Molecules!

I'm going to relook at M&S and Boots Premium, see if there's enough there to split between me and the DDs.

MidnightMeltdown · 26/10/2023 11:05

Yeah, I think M&S usually sells out fairly quickly online, but is available in stores for several weeks. I've ordered two, one for my mum. I stocked up on tights and got a few bits from the men's department for Xmas gifts.

Doubleraspberry · 26/10/2023 11:09

When ordering two, do you need a total spend for both of them or did you have to do two separate orders?

MidnightMeltdown · 26/10/2023 11:12

@Doubleraspberry I did it in two separate orders

Doubleraspberry · 26/10/2023 11:13

Thanks. Still considering whether to get M&S for myself/kids but definitely getting it for MiL so order one can go in now!

Houseplanter · 26/10/2023 11:19

I've ordered the M&S one and I'm ridiculously excited Grin
I've looked at them for the last few years and never had one. I always buy advents for my adult children, their partners, my grandchildren and my husband usually gets a beer one. But no one EVER buys me one.

HA! NOT THIS YEAR 💪

GB888 · 26/10/2023 11:41

Does anyone know of a calendar with Skinceuticals or IS Clinical in it? Thank you 🙏🏼

Nowtbettertodo · 26/10/2023 11:49

Don't know if it's been mentioned but just looking on the boots website and the skincare advents are down to £43.96. Don't know how long for.

MavisMcMinty · 26/10/2023 11:50

I have a feeling I’m gonna get the M&S calendar, the contents list isn’t quite as DODy as I’d remembered! And I do need gloves, and always need socks as my dogs are obsessed with them and are always stealing and/or chewing them up.

Not a single one that's I've seen.
Face the Future would probably still have offers on these.

TheWeeDonkeyFella · 26/10/2023 11:59

Peridot1 · 26/10/2023 08:38

I’m still not tempted by anything. Which is good! I would just be buying for the sake of it. I have way too much stuff still to use up. Might just get a nice chocolate one!

Same here. I had bareMinerals last year (only 12 days and I saved it for January) but did still enjoy reading the daily threads for the calendars I'd considered. Some days I felt I was missing out but most days I didn't and felt quite pleased/relieved that I'd gone with my judgement and not bought for the sake of it and it's also helped manage the fomo this year (that and some of the teeny sizes!).

MidnightMeltdown · 26/10/2023 12:05

For me, the only DoDs in M&S are the nail polishes, although I'm not sure about the pixi lip product. It appears to be different shades in the different images that I've seen of the calendar. I hope that I don't end up with the pale shade.

It says sheer rose in the image of the contents, so hopefully it's that one, although in image 6 they appear to have shown
Honey Sheen.

PomRuns · 26/10/2023 12:17

I don’t think there’s enough in M&S that I actually want.
I really don’t need;
nail polish
Philip Kingsley
brow tamer
Percy reed

but I do like this works, l’occitane, origins, murad.

Feels like I wouldn’t use enough …

QueefofSheena · 26/10/2023 12:18

Does anyone actually use the Nuxe oil, and what for?

I'm a huge fan and actually have all 3 varieties. The pink bottle is my favourite but this little one will be great for travelling.

Best body moisturiser ever. It's the only thing that deals with my lizard legs. I also use on my face sometimes if it's feeling dry. Once I've finished applying I run my fingers through my hair.

None greasy, easy to apply.
