Don't know if it's been mentioned but just looking on the boots website and the skincare advents are down to £43.96. Don't know how long for.

Boots one looks excellent

PomRuns · 26/10/2023 12:27

I just had a closer look @ M&S and it’s really good if I ignore the 10 things I don’t want. Which means I’d probably need a back up cake see (Liberty!).

TooningOut · 26/10/2023 12:28

I also pulled the trigger on the M&S one, I'm quite excited about it, I think the stuff looks lovely this year. I never buy nice cosmetics so this is a real treat for me. 😀

Also included in my purchase was a pair of suedette leggings and some wool socks for my DH for Christmas. Not very exciting but I know I'll get loads of wear out of the leggings.

PomRuns · 26/10/2023 12:31

*back up calendar- although I do like cake too.

Nowtbettertodo · 26/10/2023 12:35

@greengreengrass25 it does! I have got the lift and luminate one, excited for it.

Just pondering on the M&S one too 🤔

MavisMcMinty · 26/10/2023 13:06

What I want more than the M&S calendar is a really good 12-day one, that I can open on the spare days between the 25th of each month and the 1st of the next, as I quite like the idea of stretching out the advent-opening joy for three whole months - November, December and January.

PomRuns · 26/10/2023 13:10

I might get a calendar if any on sale and open 2-3 times weekly on Jan/Feb

QueefofSheena · 26/10/2023 13:33

@Houseplanter thanks! DS has really dry skin on his arms & legs so I'll persuade him to use it. I have a few in my stash.

Nowtbettertodo · 26/10/2023 13:36

Well I've done it! M&S ordered Think I will use most things so a no brainier really. That's it now, should have enough to see me through to next December 🤪

capabilityfrowns · 26/10/2023 14:05

I've just got 2 of the m&s ones , one for me and one for dd !

Branster · 26/10/2023 14:05

I am very keen to order the Boots Beauty Awards Box and Winter Skin Edit as these have practical products I know I'd be using. Trying to keep an eye out for when they come back in stock.
But, oh my, their website and app are absolutely shite! I know it's always been like this. Still annoying though. Boots stores have also become very unpleasant to use as well. I don't know if I should be buying anything from them after all. The recycling scheme, although a great idea, is impossible to use.

Pinenu · 26/10/2023 14:11

I’m not tempted by M&S or any of the GWP on offer.

Last year, Space NK kept doing those annoying ‘drops’ after the AC had “sold out” where they’d release a few that would sell out quickly and garner further interest for the next drop.

I can’t be doing with that again. Just sell the blooming things.

I wrote this at 09:43 then bought the M&S calendar at midday. I don’t even know what happened.

I've used the recycling scheme quite a lot

Is it the QR code that doesn't work or something?

Peridot1 · 26/10/2023 14:14

Oh well @Pinenu! Could have been worse!

Ha ha, same here! Just this minute bought 4 pairs of socks and a pair of gloves to qualify.

WEAK WEAK WEAK.

But actually quite a bargain, as I will also have socks and gloves, and just at the right time of year.

BlowingAway · 26/10/2023 14:23

I've also bought M&S. I was about to buy a load of thermals for my kids anyway which made the minimum spend so I figured might as well.

Anyone know of Philip Kingsley stuff is good on curly hair?

Also, does anyone actually use clear brow gel? So much of it about and I don't really get it.

pinkchampagne1 · 26/10/2023 14:24

The M&S calendar seems to have been popular. It is a good price if you are buying bits from M&S anyway.
We are home from our holiday tomorrow (another reason not to weaken and buy more calendars) and am hoping my Boots box will be waiting for me.

Branster · 26/10/2023 14:30

@greengreengrass25 Yes!
It doesn't scan the QR code.
I am using the web version of recycling scheme as I couldn't find an app for it.
And I set location to work with Safari.
It just goes round and round without doing anything.

I appreciate it might be me being useless but I couldn't find any other way of doing this, any other settings/ procedures.

Pinenu · 26/10/2023 14:37

I saw you all talking about knickers and socks which reminding me I needed tights then before I knew it, I’d bought the calendar.

Surprise buying seems to carry far less guilt. Would recommend.

@Peridot1 have you still not caved on anything yet?

Yes, PK is good for my curly hair (which is much less curly since it grew to waist-length during lockdown).

Does anyone know of a calendar with Skinceuticals or IS Clinical in it? Thank you 🙏🏼

This one from The French Pharmacy had a few skinceuticals products. But it looks like it's sold out.

Peridot1 · 26/10/2023 15:08

@Pinenu - I bought the Caroline Hirons Non Advent Advent Kit. I’m a sucker for her kits. It’s all full sizes. I’ve already decided to sell a few things I won’t use. Still have way too much stuff.

Dee1224 · 26/10/2023 15:26

Hi, I went instore and bought the M&S calendar too! Unfortunately, instead of buying underwear for DS x2 and DH, I bought two tops without trying them on.

Back at the homestead now, only to find that they both make me look like a beached walrus, so that’s another trip back to do a swap😖.

On a related note: Lots of excitement round the advent calendars in Marks today!

Branster · 26/10/2023 15:32

I completely forgot about French Pharmacy - this was my most favourite this year but I put it out of my mind as it seemed too expensive for what appeared to be small size items.
They may well still have it in stock at the shop in London?

This is a good idea. Maybe I'll open one door a week of my Stylevana calendar from January
