Continuing the discussion ...will there be some good discounts?

I’ve decided I am going to swerve M&S. I know it is great value but there is nothing in there that excites me . I have got OK Advent and I think that might be enough for me unless the SpaceNk fragrance advent is amazing Or there are some great advent bargains later but even then I am not sure if any would tempt me
@Jellycats4life Harrods did reduce last year to £175 but they didn’t release their advent until really late so I think they missed a lot of the market. This year they were first out of the blocks so who knows

@Jellycats4life the Harrods calendar did eventually get reduced last year at the end of November - to something like £175. I seem to remember it sold out very quickly once reduced to that level. Note the 12 day Fenwick’s calendar also has the EGF serum. Not sure if their GWP is still going?

Interesting but not surprising Space NK sold out. It was definitely much better than last year, and they obviously decided they’d rather shift the calendars by offering a GWP than a discount. It will be interesting to see what the fragrance calendar has to offer - they have a relatively limited number of fragrance brands.

CB normally do a GWP at the end of October. It used to be really good, but it’s a while since we’ve seen a really great GWP from any retailer.

If SpaceNK have a great fragrance once AND keep the gwp with it then I’ll go for it.

SpaceNK stock Diptyque… Although I’m not sure they’d be including that given the brand’s own offering.

It will be interesting to see. A lot of the doors on the Space Nk fragrance advent look quite big so I am wondering if it will be quite candle heavy

Thanks for the Fenwicks tip @AprilLady. I’ve just scanned the contents and I see it contains the Emperor’s New Perfume (Escentric Molecules 01) so I’d probably have to give it a swerve. I don’t need another bottle of magic perfume that smells like absolutely nothing 😅

Oh interesting @Puravida23 , I hadn't considered it might contain candles (my weakness!) as well as perfumes. Think I'll hold off on M&S after all and wait and see what's in the Space NK fragrance one. If I miss out on M&S I won't be upset, as you say it's good value but not exciting.

It might be because it's only just gone midnight but it's saying on the M&S website that the advent calendar is no longer available 🤷‍♀️

The M&S AC has now gone live & I've ordered it.

I've been trying to buy it but it's showing as £340 for some reason on my app!

No it's ok now, the reduction is being applied now - it wasn't showing up before.

You have to add £35 worth of purchases from full price clothing, homeware or beauty to your basket to be able to buy the advent calendar for £45.

I just bought it - very pleased. Have been checking since midnight and it's only just become available.

Yea, I had done that. I had over £100 of jumpers in my bag and the discount didn't show up for ages. I emptied my basket and started again, and the discount appeared.

I bought the M&S one, I don't wear a lot of makeup apart from nail varnish and it has a lot of creams in it which I will mainly use. I have used up my previous calendars creams now as I didn't buy one last year as I had a bit of a backlog, looking forward to it. I bought a cardigan I had been looking at and hadn't yet had a sparks voucher for.

Just ordersd the m&s one and also have the John Lewis one this year, although the JL one does look suspiciously similar to last years.

I've had a rush of blood to the head and bought the most beautiful (hugely expensive) trouser suit I've ever seen so I won't be buying anything else for a while (maybe the M&S one).

CB Goody Bag is out today. It’s okay but nothing amazing. It does appear to work with the advent calendar (but not if you use ADVENT10 to get the 10% off).

Just bagged M&S calendar. I had my bag ready last night with a few bits I needed!

I think it will sell out quickly. I'm not hugely excited by the contents this year but none of the other calendars have been that inspiring and/or affordable!! DD and I will share it and she'll like the bits I'm not interested in 😄

I’m still not tempted by anything. Which is good! I would just be buying for the sake of it. I have way too much stuff still to use up. Might just get a nice chocolate one!

The Fenwicks gwp still shows up if you search ‘beauty box’ and it says the promotion is from October until December but for some reason it doesn’t add the gift to your bag anymore when you add the calendar. 🤔 There is a code (FENDM23) that knocks 10% off the price of the Fenwicks calendar and you get to choose 2 free items if anyone is tempted by that advent.

I’m toying with the m and s one! How long do we think I have to decide before it sells out?

I have just looked on the CB site but didn’t see any mention of a gwp.

@pinkchampagne1 - it’s called the Skin Saviours Goody Bag. It’s showing for me and says Early Access. I’ve also had a notification on my phone.

@pinkchampagne1 It is on the site here but isn't showing up when I add the advent to the basket (or anything else over £250 actually, just tested it). Hmm wonder if there's a glitch. It's better than the Space NK GWP IMO (much prefer fewer items but larger sizes) but still not enough to tempt me.

@Ilikeviognier Who knows? I don't personally think it'll sell out that quickly, I get what PP is saying about it being a decent affordable one but I think for all the people who go down a price bracket for advent because of CoL you'll also have people not getting any at all this year. I also think it's a popular product for them so they'll make plenty. Saying that, I wouldn't wait more than a week or so.
