hi there, i am on the hunt for an affordable beauty advent calendar this year, and I thought you might have some recommendations. Ideally, I'd like to keep it under £100. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help!

kerstina · 14/10/2023 21:53

If you buy a beauty advent calendar over £160 from Fenwicks you get a free switch beauty bundle free . Seems a good deal to me ?

kerstina · 14/10/2023 21:55

Or any spend over £160 I should have said . It doesn’t have to be one but encouraged me to look at more beauty advents !

There’s a pretty good round up of the £100 and under ones here. After, that it depends on what sort of mix you want - skincare/makeup/bath stuff etc and if you want a multi brand calendar.

Best Beauty Advent Calendars Under £100

Here are the best beauty advent calendars under £100 for 2023. With calendars from M&S Beauty, LOOKFANTASTIC, Rituals and lots more!

jocelinne · 14/10/2023 22:23

Thanks for the list, however i was hoping for some specific suggestions - I'm into makeup and haircare products. Any advent calendars you think I'd love? Thanks again

hollyblueivy · 15/10/2023 07:29

clary · 14/10/2023 21:05

@monpetitlapin I think this is this year's listing for M&S?
M&S Advent Calendar 2023: What's inside and how to buy - mamabella

The only duds for me are the two nail varnishes and the lipstick - apart from that I'd love to try all the other products

£40 seems like exceptional value too. I know you have to spend £25 but I could do with some new underwater so two birds, one stone and all that.

Anyone else going for this one?

How quickly does it sell out as I can't buy until November?

Branster · 15/10/2023 08:23

@jocelinne
Off the top of my head mixed calendars around the £100 mark or below
M&S
Glossybox
You (Beauty or similar can't remember the exact name but they also do a beauty box subscription so can google)
OK Beauty (there was a £25 I think off voucher code around)
Naturismo
Holland & Barrat
Look Fantastic

Mixed ACs usually have some makeup of some sort, or stuff you wouldn't necessarily want. You just need to find one with a higher number of skincare and haircare and just ignore the rest.

I'll add more if I find my scribbled notes on a piece of paper I missled. Possibly thrown away!

I didn't see any hair specific ACs for £100 or under but they may well exist on brands' own websites

12 days ACs are a bit cheaper

Skincare own brand at the lower spend Nuxe and Avant, Clarins 12 days

My memory might be a bit wrong but the above is more or less correct.

pinkchampagne1 · 15/10/2023 09:09

I have bought the ok calendar which is £95 but I got it cheaper as there was a code if you preordered. It is very good value for money as it contains over £600 worth of products including a £130 Kate Somerville moisturiser. It has a combination of make up, skin care and hair products, quite a few of which are full sized.

Possimpible · 15/10/2023 09:29

@hollyblueivy try this link too as it gives sizes. Still good value but some duds - what's the point of 20ml of shampoo! I had M&S a few years ago but won't be going for it this year. It's hard to predict how quickly it will sell out. Last year I think it hung around for a while, but given CoL people might be more keen to snap up a treat for £40. I'd say you'd likely be fine into November, but don't leave it too late.

@jocelinne Branster's list is pretty comprehensive, I'd add ASOS. Nobody can really tell you which would be best, it's very subjective. Lots of us have been on this thread for months researching the contents so it's worth putting the work in to get the best calendar for you.

Emmmmz9 · 15/10/2023 09:51

@pinkchampagne1 oooh, the OK one looks gorgeous. Where did you get the code please?

I found the code on here. The code I used was 20SPARKLE which took it down to £75. Not sure if it is still valid as it was a preorder code but worth a try.

LadyLapsang · 15/10/2023 10:09

Hello @jocelinne and others looking for an affordable beauty Advent, I’ve just spotted TK Maxx online has the Zara calendar reduced from £159.00 to £39.99. Looks to have lots of nail polish / make up.

pinkchampagne1 · 15/10/2023 10:10

Just checked and that code isn’t valid on the ok advent now but the code 100k takes £10 off the price.

I think that is last year's calendar so I'm not sure if all of the products will still be in date? But TK Maxx can be really good for the previous year's calendars - last year I bought the previous year's Acqua di Parma calendar for £90, which I think had previously been about £400z.

TragicMuse · 15/10/2023 13:46

The first half of my Look Fantastic order has arrived! I only ordered it yesterday. The beauty chest is brilliant. It's a fabulous box and the contents are going to be brilliant for the stockings!

Stoic123 · 15/10/2023 15:06

Dee1224 · 13/10/2023 18:08

For some reason the White Stuff Xmas sock calendar appears to be included in their two for £10 sock sale. It may be a mistake or a deliberate attempt to clear stock.

You have to put it into your basket and get to checkout before it says ‘promotion’ applied.

I have ordered - hopefully it won’t be cancelled.

Thanks for flagging White Stuff socks. The calender had been removed from 2 for £10 offer (just as well - really didn't need it) but I did get some lovely Llama socks for socking fillers (now also removed from offer).

I ordered the llama socks too, @Stoic123 . Had to read twice, as at first I saw them as made from llama wool😹

Dee1224 · 15/10/2023 15:29

Hi all,

I am finding conflicting information about the M&S calendar- some sites are saying £40, plus £25 purchase, others £45 plus £35.

Anyone know for sure?

Possimpible · 15/10/2023 15:33

@Dee1224 ReallyRee and beautyadventcalendar.net both say £45 with £35 spend, and they're generally reliable sources

Dee1224 · 15/10/2023 15:36

I suspected it would be so. Thanks @Possimpible

Emmmmz9 · 15/10/2023 15:42

@TragicMuse oooh, I’ve got my eye on this box but just bought the calendar last week. Are they beautiful products?

Doubleraspberry · 15/10/2023 15:55

The M&S calendar is usually in stock in stores after it sells out online if you can get to one.

Q question - are the TK Maxx calendars available online?

MavisMcMinty · 15/10/2023 15:56

Yes, I covet LF’s beauty chest too!
