The Perfect Grey Jumper

I have spent the last 20 years it feels, trying to find the perfect grey jumper, but they always end up not being quite right in some way or being poor quality and looking like dishrags after a couple of washes

I kind of want it to feel expensive and casual and slightly oversized, the kind you can throw on and look effortlessly stylish (in my head anyway).
I've seen this one by White Company, wbich isn't oversized but looks nice. Any other recommendations?

I love Navygrey knitwear - they are a fabulous company. Fantastic quality and they last. Worth the extra investment imo

The White Company one looks perfect to me. (Eyeing it up myself now)

I'm contemplating this one though a bit sceptical given the price. They have a 100% cashmere one too (even more of a stretch)

I have a grey slouchy 100% cashmere one from JCrew, vneck, long line with ribbed cuffs and waist. I love it, hasnt bobbled and is so warm. Think it was £200 though....

I prefer v neck and found this the other day that's currently sitting in my cart. Never heard of the brand before

If you want oversized OP, have you ever tried a menswear jumper...? I always wear mens jumpers as I'm athletic build and women's jumpers are never oversized on me (and if I go many sizes up they go boxy). Inexpensive option is Uniqlo, their mens jumpers are great.

The Whistles one is nice, but not quite the right colour.
The Rise & Fall one is lovely, but I find rollnecks a bit claustrophobic.

@ScreenPrinting I have looked at mens jumoers, but because I'm quite scrawny and they tend to swamp me, but not in a just-wearing-my-sexy-boyfriends-jumper stylish way.
I have a teen boy cashmere jumper which is almost (almost!) right but the arms are too long.

@PinkTonic That is a nice one - are the cuffs turn ups? It is a bit pale for me - I think it would wash me out totally, but I really like it

@NancyStStacey The cuffs do turn up but I’m the same, I need a grey without yellow undertones, so charcoal or silver. Poetry have some beautiful knitwear but the colours rarely work for me.

@littleburn I do really like that uniqlo one. It feels like a perfect everyday jumper |(and i dont mean in a derogatory way). i want something a little bit more luxurious I think, but that would be a decent backup option.

I get the M&S crew neck ones in a size bigger than normal so they look slouchy but still smart

Have you tried Eric Bompard? I've had some really well cut oversized cashmere from them. Otrium often have them on offer down to £100 to £120.

I think the white company jumper looks beautiful though I would say I’ve bought an expensive cashmere jumper which was equally beautiful, however, it was incredibly uncomfortable and I could only wear it for an hour at a time it was so itchy….so if it’s not a material you know suits your skin it’s something to keep in mind (trust a bitch who has already made that mistake 😂) xx
