Nigella Lawson's secret

Just watched Nigella Lawson (filmed in 2017): At my Table, and I have to say that she looks great! I haven't seen her recently, but what's her secret? Other than being incredibly wealthy. How can I get her look? Is she still looking fabulous at 60??

I rather enjoy her cooking programmes even though I find her incredibly posh accent a bit off putting.

PosyPrettyToes · 28/09/2023 10:54

Money, cosmetic surgery, cosmetic procedures, not having to work full time, a decent body fat ratio to hold up her skin, vast quantities of expensive skincare and regular facials.

Hair extensions I suspect too, her hair is very thick for 60+

I am near 70 with naturally thick, shoulder length hair.

TheMurderousGoose · 28/09/2023 11:29

My mum is 80 and her hair is mega thick. Rudely, she did not pass her hair genes on to me.

crochetmonkey74 · 28/09/2023 11:37

she really is not bigger - I have met her many times with work and she is very small. Also very very striking! and lovely too. I'm a big fan!

I’m ordering that GOW prickly pear oil.

Just ordered! my skin is good with oils, and I was looking for a new one.

renovationheavenandhell · 28/09/2023 12:00

She’s bloody gorgeous, excellent bone structure that coupled with incredibly bloody wealthy is the winning formula.

MissHarrietBede · 28/09/2023 12:04

I have very similar hair and cheekbones but there the similarity with Nigella sadly ends! 😆

Bored1000 · 28/09/2023 12:28

Good genes
Naturally beautiful
Slightly plump
Good nutrition
Looks after her looks as her livelihood depends on it
Lots if money for treatments/ products
Professionally applied makeup when on TV

SeptemberSky · 28/09/2023 12:35

Great genes. Google her mum (Vanessa Salmon), she was also strikingly beautiful.

She is also a genuinely lovely person, one of life's thoroughly kind people.

I doubt her kid's friend's parents think that when she was doing Coke with them around her kitchen table. I would hate her.

greenhydrangea · 28/09/2023 12:44

She's a naturally beautiful woman - but plenty of wealthy, beautiful women have totally destroyed their natural beauty well before they reach any age at all. Nigella has preserved hers, and I think a good diet with real food and natural oils in it has helped her, as opposed to starving herself like so many contemporaries.

I hope this doesn't sound catty, because it's not meant to be, but one factor is that she is a bit heavier than 90% of female celebs. And she looks so much better for it.

100 per cent true.

A healthy body weight (not underweight as most celebs are) makes people over 50 look younger. It's so easy to become drawn and pinched when the collagen starts to ebb away.

Ippdippdoo · 28/09/2023 12:46

Money.

flutterby1 · 28/09/2023 13:13

Money

flutterby1 · 28/09/2023 13:13

Snap ! Didn't see your reply! But yep... money

LakeTiticaca · 28/09/2023 13:14

She looks a sight lot better than Carol Vorderman who is around the same age ......

Justwrong68 · 28/09/2023 15:08

Cash

CinnamonBear · 28/09/2023 15:19

I've met her in person. She's very beautiful and has a magnetic personality.

I would also hazard a guess that stress shows up as white hairs instead of fine lines. She obviously takes care of her skin and stays out of the sun which makes a massive difference.

TheMurderousGoose · 28/09/2023 15:25

Lots of wealthy people end up looking like a melted welly (Madonna) so cash isn't always a guarantee the chosen work will be good work.

itsmylife7 · 28/09/2023 15:27

So Women 60+ can't have thick hair or a hourglass figure 😂

It is common knowledge that her sister and mother died young from cancer. When her children were small her first husband, the journalist John Diamond, died from throat cancer. He was ill for a long time and wrote a weekly Times column on his treatment which included having his tongue removed. His work was later published in a book. For a while in the Saturday Times magazine there would be Nigella's makeup column and his cancer column. Her late husband John could be seen in the background of her early series, but he was so ill that he was unable to eat her food.
I would argue that all the wealth and position in the world wouldn't protect her from the heartbreak of the premature deaths of her husband, sister and mother and leaving her small children without a father. I think she has had more worries and heartbreak than many of us.

Well said.

ThomasHardyPerennial · 28/09/2023 21:29

Her eyes have a real sparkle to them, she's captivating.

Xeren · 29/09/2023 02:46

She’s simply a beautiful woman.

Yes, I’m sure money helps maintenance to a certain extent, but there are plenty of wealthy women her age who have the same access to beauty treatments she can afford, yet chances are, they’re more likely to look like Sarah Vine than Nigella.

Likewise, there are plenty of young 20 somethings who aren’t a patch on her. Those Made In Chelsea lot or the Royals /Aristos (bar Kate and Meghan) all seem very thin, average looking, dripped in designer gear and gloss. Yet, you wouldn’t notice them twice if you passed them on the street.

Nigella is just a gorgeous woman. She always was.

BeginningToLookALotLike · 29/09/2023 10:38

I think she has maybe got her good hair genes from her dad. She is beautiful.
