I'd quite like headscarves, as worn by most women in the 50s/60s. Rather useful as well as glamorous.

I also think a shawl would be nice.

Shorter hair styles. Every single woman under 40 seems to have long hair in a messy bun; it's boring.

Melroses · 27/09/2023 21:13

I have a headscarf in my coat pocket for emergencies. It is flat and takes up very little space, and is silk so actually quite warm when you hit a gale force wind.

I'm not waiting for it to come into fashion.

Are legwarmers currently in or out? I bloody love them.

Broaches

BandicootCrash · 27/09/2023 21:18

Really chunky platform trainers. I've seen loads of 90s style jeans around recently, but a) they still don't have quite enough pockets, and b) they just don't look quite right without the 90s shoes.

ThelmaBorden · 27/09/2023 21:20

/oops, I wore them when I was expecting my son, in winter, my lower legs cosy,
had stripey ones, another item of clothing I wish I had kept

MillenialAvocado · 27/09/2023 21:22

Ponchos! Awkward with a bag, though...

Loveatortie · 27/09/2023 21:25

Cheese cloth shirts.

Houseplanter · 27/09/2023 21:29

I love these.

My headscarves could be happily joined by hats. I loathe my hair. I'd happily see hats come back as the norm.

This won’t be popular but low waisted jeans, I’m so fed up of high waists on everything.

ThePoshUns · 27/09/2023 22:44

Bootleg jeans

Bootleg jeans

Both of these. I’ve managed to avoid buying high waist anything so far.

Reach9kat · 27/09/2023 22:50

Chunky, colourfull, bedazzled statement jewellery. Sick of the dainty, understated gold or silver pieces in the shops.

Kind of with you on this. I cut my hair into a pixie and it was NOT well received by anyone! There is no variety in hairstyles. Lest to say I am now growing pixie out. I am a little bit old for it and need hair to cover my neck, but if I were younger I’d keep it. You never see girls with anything but long hair.

Holdmysunhat · 27/09/2023 22:59

Brooches. Bobs. Ponchos. Undereye liner. Bright, bold colours. Big patterns Brazilian style like Farm Rio. Adventurous dressing as opposed to all the tasteful ‘quiet luxury’/‘coastal grandmother’ muted beige/tan/black stuff in the shops. Massive handbags 90s style in gold. Maximalism. Handbands. I’m with you on the shawls!

Bootcut jeans on all ages, not just teenagers recreating our nineties look! Bootcut jeans aee the most flattering jeans ever, i used to love wearing mine.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 27/09/2023 23:07

LadyHester · 27/09/2023 23:10

I have started wearing bootcuts again, and am not a teenager! My age is in my username... They are in all the shops, so fair game as far as I am concerned.

I would like (and I’ve no idea what is in fashion these days) a couple of pairs of corduroy flares. One in grey, one in heather purple.

I’m with you on headscarves. Sometimes I’ll use a sarong for the purpose on a scorching day. With dark glasses. So my neighbours have to wonder who the mysterious famous person is.

Massive shaggy perms and enormous dangly earrings. With a wool beret or one of those not-quite trilby hats like wot I wore in the late ‘80s.

Biiiig long woollen coats.

I realise the flares aren’t quite right with this get up.

ChelseaGem · 27/09/2023 23:26

Ok I’ll go with slim/skinny cords and tall leather riding-type boots.

minipie · 27/09/2023 23:30

Silver “fun” jewellery. 95% of what’s on sale is gold. There is silver, but it’s all dainty classic chain necklaces rather than the more fun stuff, earrings etc.

Normal shaped heels rather than fugly block.

Wrinkles.

Safxxx · 27/09/2023 23:30

Anything modest ❤️
