I have the three of them as well, and regretting I only brought one. I had two in my case as well, and took one out at the last minute.

Snowyowl78 · 04/10/2023 10:22

@ilovecherries have you got the harlequin one? That’s my fave
i might have to try this new one!

Snowyowl78 · 04/10/2023 10:22

Or is it old?!

Alpacasoft · 04/10/2023 10:26

Thanks @AmethystMoonShine and@Saurus72

Will investigate.
I need to be dressy but CBA with heels at all these days.
Hasn't that Tulip dress been around for ages?
I'm sure I've seen it on Vinted recently.

With regards to Cupro the whole risk of staining would be too high for me.
I love my lotions and potions and as a daily makeup wearer I would get greasy spots in no time.
Interestingly there is that cupro orange dress from last season on Vinted at a bargain price but with greasy marks that won't come out...

Snowyowl78 · 04/10/2023 10:30

@Alpacasoft i think you might be thinking if this one, same print different style. Longer sleeve and more fitted I think?

oddandelsewhere · 04/10/2023 10:39

Snowy Owl, I have Plumo polder pants they are really nice on. I'm definitely a high street 14 and they feel like a really good fit on me, still quite baggy. I do suspect however that if you like Toast trousers which are definitely more fitted and with slimmer legs you might find them a bit much. I never wear Toast trousers, I prefer Oska or Plumo.

Snowyowl78 · 04/10/2023 12:13

@oddandelsewhere thanks that’s helpful! I wonder what they would be like on a size 8!

Snowyowl78 · 04/10/2023 10:22

Or is it old?!

Pre-pandemic certainly. None of mine were bought new though

Snowyowl78 · 04/10/2023 14:32

@ilovecherries thats strange, I’ve never seen it before. I think I got mine around 2021-22, most new or sale

Dee1224 · 04/10/2023 14:42

How’s it going with #staingate @faustina ?

faustina · 04/10/2023 15:43

@Dee1224

This is what it looks like now, it's much better than it was, but it's definitely still there and as you can see, a bit lighter. I'm not sure if I can be arsed to do it all over again - think it might be heading for the bin. It's very annoying! Big thank you to everyone for the advice

dudsville · 04/10/2023 15:50

That's a really weird effect of deodorant and i guess it being set by sweat? It's like the fabric is warped? That's a shame @faustina.

I learned the lesson, just bought second hand jessa dungarees and checked all the areas!

faustina · 04/10/2023 16:15

@dudsville - I'm very pleased it made you double check - I certainly will in future. I honestly don't know how they could have let it get that bad, it's kind of caked on. I mainly wear t-shirts and use a spray deodorant and I've never ever had that problem. Some of mine are very well loved and I use the extra holey ones for gardening etc, but even those don't have marks.

Dee1224 · 04/10/2023 16:20

It’s a lot better @faustina It looks like the Vanish has removed the awful stain but taken out a bit of colour, (that happened with my Dhuggie and the tomato stain!)

Could you dye it as a practice dye job? If it doesn’t go well, no harm no foul!

If not, I would donate it, it’s now clean, so someone would probably give it a home.

Such a shame you got landed with it. I hope it wasn’t too expensive.

faustina · 04/10/2023 16:30

@Dee1224 it does still have some of the caked on whatever it was. I don't mind the slight bleaching, but can still see the extra layer of gunk. If it weren't for that, I'd probably wear it, it was about £18 so not expensive- but very annoying. Not sure about donating in its current state? If anyone else wants to have a go at it, I'll happily post it if they pay postage

Dee1224 · 04/10/2023 16:43

I see @faustina - how annoying, (and still yucky 🙃). I agree that you can’t donate like that. What a shame.

I have a couple of eBay purchases en route, (bid without any real expectation of winning- then I did 😱). Hopefully mine are ok.

faustina · 04/10/2023 16:45

Fingers crossed for you Dee. Almost everything I've bought preloved has been fine except this and once before, so that's quite a good hit rate!

Alpacasoft · 04/10/2023 18:42

Snowyowl78 · 04/10/2023 10:30

Yes that's the one.
No idea why they do similar styles in the same fabric?

I think I’ve mentioned before that I really took against them for awhile as one of the deputy CMOS wore one to a lot of the 5pm covid briefings. Shallow, I know 😳

Snowyowl78 · 04/10/2023 19:52

@ilovecherries oh really! Which one??

clowniform · 04/10/2023 20:16

plays taps for @faustina 's Stained item I'm a bit scared off Vinted now, though probably it's just a consequence of them being the hottest platform right now. I've had only excellent experiences on Vestiare/Thrift+ but much slimmer pickings.

Though I did find this Toast skirt for £10 from a Real Life charity shop so never say never 😮Does anyone remember it? Seersucker-ish material and has one of the current white tape labels. I've never seen it but given the odd goings on maybe it's another random sample. I learned a new waistband construction technique from dismantling this to alter, very cool. Just need to finish up the gathers now

faustina · 04/10/2023 20:20

@clowniform - it's my own fault really. I should have looked more closely before leaving feedback, and if I had, I could have returned it. I like that skirt! Haven't seen it before, but what a bargain!

ilovecherries · 04/10/2023 20:30

Snowyowl78 · 04/10/2023 19:52

@ilovecherries oh really! Which one??

I can’t remember her name now. Not Jenny Harries so probably an assistant CMO rather than deputy. She was rather partial to the teal and black version of that dress, and I think she also wore that one I had on today sometimes. But it led to me packing them all away for a couple of years, even though she did actually look very nice in them!
