Yes, a hideous vote from me too. What was Kate thinking when she put that outfit together! She usually does casual beautifully as well.....

I think the problem is that she’s trying to be more trend-driven in her dressing (which I definitely like!) and she’s not yet found what works and doesn’t for her silhouette - the trousers hit all wrong as they were too long to look good. At the length she picked they would have looked better not being skinny, as well. I don’t mind a fail here and there with Kate - she always, always gets points for trying something new. In this instance it just wasn’t quite right.

If you’re reading, Kate, the cropped jeans need to be shorter! And you might be better off with true denim in a more relaxed fit rather than skin tight.

Also I don’t think I was here at the time but oh my heart when she wore red nail varnish at Easter!!!

Loved Anne wearing her Mum’s old cloak! The Beaton portrait was taken in 1968, so it’s at least 55 years old. Probably a record, even for Anne (though Charles wearing his Dad’s old overcoat may beat her, I think Phillip was wearing it in the 1950s).

Speaking of Princess Anne, she was out for dinner in the City of London last night for a dinner with the Engineers Livery Company (Guild) - wearing a fairly modern evening dress, although I’m sure it’s not! She wore some lovely aquamarines with it, too.

I love the idea that a couple of times a year the royal ladies and their dressers all get together with tea and cake and go through their schedules and work out the dresses, jewels etc. they will wear.

Oh no you can’t have the Vladimir on the 15th as I need it on the 18th in New York etc. plus Anne going do you remember Mum’s cloak from 1958 I finally have the right event.

Anne's dress reminds me a bit of one Meghan wore at Invictus recently. Similar colour and lacy fabric.

I absolutely love this grey dress with black boots on Leti. It's the kind of thing I'd gladly wear to work. Sorry @Maireas I know your views on grey but I love it.

In contrast, I do not like this high-neck floral dress of CPM's. It's very Kate, though that's why I don't like it. I just really dislike those dresses, popular as they seem to be.

That's a "softer" look than we usually see on Letizia.

You're quite right, @MotherofPearl - grey should be banned. However, I think it's a nice dress and I like the way that it drapes, although I'm not sure about the hemline.

I loathe grey. School uniform memories. But I think this dress is really pretty.

I'm sure that I saw a picture of Princess Anne in a green dress wearing aquamarine gems last night or this morning. It was an evening do in London I think. Can I find it, I've googled myself daft this evening searching for the article and picture.

CPM - I quite like those floaty print dresses, but something is off about it - maybe too long, or high necked, or teamed with the wrong shoes?

Well Leti certainly does more for that dress than the model does. Fashion is styled so unattractively at the moment.

More and more I find myself wanting to get good and boozy with Princess Anne.

I like Letizia’s grey dress and think it would be a perfect base for some stunning accessorising. Worn just by itself seems a waste of potential, and terribly bland. Imagine what Max would have done…
