On another topic, here is Princess Leonor standing alongside her dad for Spain’s National Day. I love that she is getting the opportunity to have a proper military training.

(have you also seen the very cute videos posted by eagle-eyed royal watchers in Spain? It looks like one of Leonor’s fellow cadets might be her boyfriend. He was spotted tucking a stray wisp of hair back underneath her beret just before their parade, and then later when he formed part of the receiving line meeting and shaking hands with the King and Queen there were wide smiles for him from Felipe and Letizia plus Felipe then looked straight at his daughter after shaking his hand, still grinning broadly. Very cute).

I would love to do that course, pesky work is going to get in the way though…not sure how realistic that would be as one of my learning and development goals.

I'm not sure about CPV's dress but her diamond necklace is STUPENDOUS. Estelle looks beautiful, as does Elisabeth in that gold dress.

The caped purple dress also really suits Amalia.

I'm afraid it's a hard no from me to Marie's pink dress and also Mette-Merit's peppermint coloured satin. I don't understand what the strip of lace around the shoulders/upper arms is all about.

Victoria rewore a dress I have always loved on her - It’s very “Empress Josephine” in style, and looks stunning paired with the cut steel tiara from the same era.

I was just thinking she looks straight out of a Georgette Heyer regency romance! Victoria does of course descend from Josephine, and Desiree too who was once engaged to Napoleon.

(As an unrelated aside I am thoroughly annoyed by the casting of Vanessa Kirby as Josephine in the new Napoleon film as she's at least 10 years younger than Joaquin Phoenix and Josephine was famously older than Napoleon!)
