But if I bought anything, it would be that dress @PretLea ❤️

dudsville · 14/09/2023 20:24

@MiracleToast , living the sound of your wedding outfit!

@OftenOrange ,i wish i looked better in the socks and bostons, i do it, but my calves are so much bigger than the model's!

So have i@Snowyowl78 and @Theteapotsbrokenspout , i just went back and ordered some plain tees!

@Dee1224 , that green version of the pond looks great and i hesitated and decided not to buy it, but I'm sure I'll be kicking myself.

They're both delightful @mizu !

PretLea · 14/09/2023 20:24

I might just have to @mizu 😬 I’ve never actually considered it before, but it does look lovely.

MiracleToast · 14/09/2023 20:28

@dudsville I’m hoping it’s suitably mushroom-in-a-pocket

Dee1224 · 14/09/2023 20:30

I’ll report back @dudsville !

OftenOrange · 14/09/2023 20:40

@faustina It’s crazy that we only get one chance to get the sizes right , I don’t have a clue about the boy t , just went for my old money size , fingers crossed.
@Dee1224 Thanks, the treatment isn’t nice but it was fine , ’m grateful that I get it even though the Toast sale excitement was somewhat thwarted , I took a chance on the Pond dress, I know you love it and hope it will suit me.
@dudsville Laughing at the multi purchase ; all par for the course with Toast..
I was reading that knee ( and even over yukkkk)boots are all reappearing on the fashion scene , they really used to make wearing dresses a cinch . I want to try to reinvent that look for myself ,but not sure if it will chime with Toast,I do have my eye on some knee boots from Studio Nicholson…
That’s why my wardrobes such a patchwork affair!

AFingerofFudge · 14/09/2023 20:41

Thank you for the tip off - lucky me was on a day off. I managed to order a comprehensive selection given there wasn't a huge amount in the sale Grin

I have ordered the mill pond trousers, a couple of T-shirts and linen swingy shirt. Now dithering or is it swithering over the trapeze check dress, the reeds shirt and the fracap Lina sandals.

Stoic123 · 14/09/2023 20:45

@AFingerofFudge - did you like the Tu Ochre Check Midi Dress?

I am pleased with mine. Not quite Toast quality but really nice and a bargain at £25.

mizu · 14/09/2023 20:47

@PretLea if you were to buy - I'm not, I'm not - what do you think the sizing is like?

dudsville · 14/09/2023 20:57

Damn that trapeze dress, I'm fearing a bout of fomo coming on. Why is it £20 more than the pond? Love that it has the standard back pocket. I tried to slip my phone into a non existent back pocket on today's old toast dress.

PretLea · 14/09/2023 21:13

@dudsville I purchased the trapeze 🙈

@mizu I just bought it in one size, so really hoping it’s the correct one. I think it’s an easy/roomy fit (and I have quite a small chest), so went with the smaller of the two sizes I usually bounce between with the new sizing.

dudsville · 14/09/2023 21:22

I succumbed @PretLea ! My mind did its usual "Well really the sales are just a chance to try things, so why not just get it and see?".

SmaugMum · 14/09/2023 21:24

I rarely access these threads now but a sixth sense made me look today and I was delighted to discover the sale alert. Thanks so much to @ScottishMouse !

I have been eyeing up and coveting the Ikat jumpsuit for months but not at the bonkers-silly presale price; it’s still super-pricey but I love it and I know that it will be an all-year-rounder and will be worn to death. I also bought the short wrap/gown to wear over the jumpsuit as a jacket plus the pink linen shirt I should have bought for the past two years as I love it so!

I bought one too. I’m really pleased with mine but as you say, the quality is not there. Trying to resist the sale as I bought a denim pinafore and a check summer dress at Shepton Mallet on Tuesday and also paid the Mulberry outlet a visit.

The design and look is good but you can definitely feel the quality difference between the Tu material and Toast.

I suspect the Tu dress will wear out in a couple of years' time whereas some Toast drresses seem indestructible!

PretLea · 14/09/2023 21:37

That’s exactly what I thought @dudsville 🙃 Hope you managed the right size. I’m also hoping the colours are not not too bright.

AFingerofFudge · 14/09/2023 21:38

@Stoic123 Yes the Sainsburys dress arrived but it went back! It was a lovely dress and a bargain at £25 but I don't like brushed cotton and that's what it felt like, I have a real aversion to the feel!!

I don’t know whether you saw the Tu green cord midi last year. It was very similar in colour to the Toast dress and the assistants in my local store were amazed at the quality of the material. It helped that I was wearing it under a Toast coat! Smoke and mirrors.
@AFingerofFudge Totally get that. I can tolerate brushed cotton but not the crinkly polyester so many retailers are addicted to.

Firesideknitting · 14/09/2023 22:26

so I’ve gone back and done 4 orders in total, got some tees for myself and hubby some more trousers, I shall resist checking again now as I really do not need anything else(not that I needed anything to start with). Also got the £35 too for my SIL.

Snowyowl78 · 15/09/2023 04:39

@AmethystMoonShine beware that the copper shorts are a completely different size to the chocolate ones- the copper ones are much smaller so you may need to size up

Snowyowl78 · 15/09/2023 04:41

I’m happy as I snapped up the tiered poplin Robyn dress, I’ve been biding my time with that one and already tried for size so happy. Also the minty tank. I’ve got the bottle green top on the way so I’m going to ask them to honour the price on that one. In all the excitment I managed to duplicate an order! So I’ve asked them to cancel one hopefully in time! I’m trying out that Ikat jacket as it’s quite heavily reduced.

Snowyowl78 · 15/09/2023 04:46

@MrsRadichio
I have that linen dress it’s big! I am a 14 and I got the small, if you’re big in the bust you may want to go bigger

@BettinaInDenmark yiu won’t regret that coal tank, it’s the best tank ever, I have it in a large and have worn it all summer. I also ordered the pebble version last night

AmethystMoonShine · 15/09/2023 06:23

Thanks for the heads up on the copper short @Snowyowl78. Looks like they’ll be going back, which isn’t a bad thing for my bank balance. Just checked and only smaller sizes left. More Toast sizing madness!

dudsville · 15/09/2023 07:24

I'm just wondering whether i need this...
