I am considering treating myself to one of these Louis Vuitton bags.

also I’m wondering whether to buy directly from store brand new or look at the second hand market… just concerned about authenticity.

Ive got the first one with the red lining. I cannot believe how much the price has gone up! I paid £900 less than 4 years ago. That's crazy!

I would recommend buying directly from LV. they personalise it for free in the store! Can tell it's not a fake then too

I can’t believe it either. It has almost doubled! I guess that’s inflation for you. It almost feels too much, but I think I’d use it a lot, so it would be a staple… that’s how I’m justifying it in my head anyway 😅

@Flutterbye22 have you ordered one yet? I’ve fallen down a rabbit hole and even been in store to “try one on”.
I want a GM now, I can afford it but it feels very indulgent so I’ve created a savings pot for passive income, Vinted sales etc. Happy to receive feedback on why I can/should pay for it out of my main savings pot

It’s an investment for sure! Good idea re saving up, vinted etc. I’m doing the same thing. I think after next pay day, I’m going to plan a trip into store to take a look and then purchase. From all the responses on here, I can see the pros and cons, but what stands out for me is that it seems an absolute workhorse of a bag and I think it’d get a lot of wearability. I sometimes think in terms of cost per wear and think it would last me a good few years until I’m in the position to buy something different at the time!

I also think it goes with a lot - almost everything really and really elevates your look with it being practical too…

I sold mine on Vinted last year. I went on a hen do last summer and got to the airport and seven girls out of 21 had a Never Full. Most had genuine ones but a few were fakes I’m guessing. They were all nice girls but a few were quite TOWIE with their style, it put me off and sold mine when I came home. It was a bit worn and had a mark in the lining, but still got £320 for it.

I have the first one but the GM.
Have had it for about 8 years and used it everyday for work (pre covid). Love it.
It is a workhorse, I use it for travel, work, days out. carries loads. Still looks lovely.
I am in the minority in that I prefer style 1. The leather in style 2 will darken as it ages that does look nice but can also look a bit grubby.

I understand the DE wears better because the handles etc are not vachetta leather that marks and gets darker over time.

Oh no - I think that would put me off too to be honest.

I am definitely no TOWIE type though. And I have seen some classier ladies pull it off.

I really love the leather Neverfull in black but I just can’t justify the price! I feel it’s more subtle with the logo and not as common.. understated….

I bought the limited edition multicoloured one back in 2015 and i still use it regularly now and it hasn’t worn anywhere at all, it’s definitely the most hardwearing bag I own, plus now it’s apparently worth around 2k so they do go up in value too!

Plus I’ve never actually seen anyone with my bag as it’s so different to the rest so if you can justify the cost see what limited editions one they do 👍

I do the same when I want to buy something quite indulgent. It makes me feel better to save up for it (also gives you time to change your mind or to savour the future purchase every time you add to the pot) even if I could just buy it straight away.

Don't be put off ,we all wear things in different ways. As mentioned before by others,buy it from a LV store. They will open an account under your name and they register every purchase with the item code. In case the bag will need to be repaired in future you can take it to any LV store worldwide .

I have the GM in ebene and mainly use it for travel. It's been shoved under many a plane seat for 10 years now and still looks as good as new. So I would say it's hard wearing

I've just seen this thread: I bought mine in from Selfridges 2007 when it first came out. Cost me £325. I’m astounded how much they cost these days. The large one I bought was only £25 more than the medium. Only monogram was available then

I only paid £900 or there abouts for mine, I'm really surprised at the price increase.

I have the Damier Ebene but in the GM. I love it. I read the trim on the Monogram darkens over time and not always consistently which put me off.

I think they’re gorgeous but have never been able to get over paying that kind of price for a canvas bag. (See also Goyard.) It just seems like they’re taking the mickey to me.

my workhorse bag is an (old) bottega veneta tote. Big and black and slouchy. It is divine. And impossible to fake. I bought it second hand years ago in Hong Kong, but I think you can still get them for a good price (everyone is obsessed with the “new” bottega Jodies, cassettes, pouches etc and the old stuff seems relatively well priced). Suede lining, inside pockets etc.

Same I got mine for roughly that price a few years ago. Can't believe how many brands have sneakily upped their prices.

I agree with @stealthbanana they are overpriced for a canvas bag ( still love mine though ) as are Goyards. Yes they are taking the michael
