Louis Vuitton Neverfull

Flutterbye22 · 01/09/2023 20:44

I am considering treating myself to one of these Louis Vuitton bags.

  1. https://uk.louisvuitton.com/eng-gb/products/neverfull-mm-damier-ebene-008116/N41358

or

  1. https://uk.louisvuitton.com/eng-gb/products/neverfull-mm-monogram-007653/M40995

which do you prefer?

also I’m wondering whether to buy directly from store brand new or look at the second hand market… just concerned about authenticity.

I’ve the second one. I can’t believe the price though, I think mine was about 850. They’re proper classic, are literally never full and are really robust. The leather ages beautifully and they’re great bags: I use mine mainly for work

cosmosforall · 01/09/2023 21:39

I have the second one too and I love love it. So roomy, fab for work and I change the look by bringing in the sides.

cosmosforall · 01/09/2023 21:40

Forgot to say I bought new but if you go second hand get one from a reputable dealer. Mumsnet threads often say who they are but I can't remember.

Redglitter · 01/09/2023 21:44

I prefer the 2nd LV style. Gorgeous bag

SiblingFights · 01/09/2023 21:49

They are both gorgeous but I prefer number 2. However, I know at least 4 people with fakes which would put me off.

Yeah that puts me off too

DE isn’t as hard wearing I don’t think, I’d definitely get the monogram.

PatFussy · 01/09/2023 23:50

The second one! I love mine so much and the little pouch you get with it is so handy!!! It's a real workhorse of a bag.

Like a Pp I paid about 850 for mine. Can't believe the price jump!

Don't worry about fakes. You can easily spot the real ones!

augustusglupe · 01/09/2023 23:55

I have No 1. I can't believe how much they've gone up.
I bought mine in LV in Manchester about 6 years ago. I think it was about £700

LondonQueen · 02/09/2023 03:20

I have the second one, whilst I love it and use it for work, I think it's a bit of a dated look and every tom dick and harry seems to have a knock off. There are better bags for the money now,

Thekormachameleon · 02/09/2023 04:25

I've got the first one and literally never used it 🙄🙄

Very expensive mistake

Totalwasteofpaper · 02/09/2023 04:32

I have ebene and azur mine were about 900 each.
Used them regularly for years. They look Immaculate.

which ever one you getits a goodchoice. I get people don't like it because... fakes. But this bag is a workhorse.
Dont get the (beautiful) ysl tote if you want to carry anything heavy
Have you considered an epi leather NF?

Oh I love the leather NF … both in dune and black. I think I prefer it but what puts me off is that price 😵‍💫 seems insane and I don’t think I can justify it.

I hear you. I personally think it’s a classic, and somewhat timeless in the brown.

Which other bags would you recommend instead?

First one. If you are fussed about it being the real deal then buy direct. If not then go second hand. There are loads of cheap knock offs so be careful

As long as you're aware of that and you love it then go for it.

TimeForHygge · 02/09/2023 07:58

I've got the 2nd one and I have had it for about 16 years. I use it all the time and it still looks great. I bought it overseas where everyone had them. Here, some people think they are a bit meh, but I love mine. I personally wouldn't go with the MM, as I think they are too small. I love my GM.

I have a few really great bags from Mulberry, LV, and another designer one, but always reach for this one first.

TimeForHygge · 02/09/2023 08:01

I agree with TotalWasteofPaper, it is a total workhorse.

I tell you what else is a total workhorse, not that I am trying to get you to spend more money, but the LV Mini Pochette. I never have to buy or worry about an evening bag again. It goes with everything and is totally gorgeous. I hate having to match up an outfit for going out or a wedding. This sorts it for me.

primoseyellow · 02/09/2023 08:05

I love them , I would buy brand new, second hand they really aren't much cheaper. Unless you get a battered one off eBay.

For the sake of saving a couple of hundred it doesn't seem worth it, just buy brand new and get the box and dust cover etc . There have been lots of fakes on a certain very well known reseller website, so that has really given me pause for thought, as before I always trusted re selling websites 100 %.

TimeForHygge · 02/09/2023 08:17

I’m not usually into designer stuff. I’m a jeans and t shirt person who is always in sports gear.

However, this bag is just pure pleasure. Treat yourself to a new one. It’s the only designer thing I’ve had which I didn’t later think was a waste of money. Use it, and let your life be the one that darkens the leather, and forms the slight creases in it, rather than someone else’s. You’ll keep it forever if you take care of it.

hdbs17 · 02/09/2023 08:21

Neverfulls are extortionately priced now - they used to be so much cheaper!

Also as another PP said, there are so many fakes about that when I see one out and about I just assume it's a fake.

LadyEloise1 · 02/09/2023 09:16

I love mine, it's the second one.
It's old now and I never got a pouch. Is there hat a new edition ?
It can be a pickpocketter's
dream as there is no zip.

lapochette · 02/09/2023 09:58

I have the second bag, bought new from LV online for around £850 like pp a good few years ago. it's the most used bag I own and still looks like new. And as pp says it's literally never full!
