Would anyone like to join in on a 100 day princessing journey?

100 days from today is 1st December so a perfect time to start our princessing journeys. I’m overweight, constantly tired and feel generally rubbish about myself. I want to make this a priority so hopefully posting here will make all of us a little accountable and we can all support each other…

Thanks @Xeren
I’m still here. Spray tan tomorrow for the wedding this weekend. So I’m exfoliated and shaved my legs properly for the first time in forever. I’ve skipped breakfast today and yesterday to just push through a little more weight loss and I’m feeling ok. Having eaten at about 7 pm last night, I was really ready for lunch at 12.30!

I would just like to say well done to everyone on the thread and send my support even if you’ve not done as well as you’d like.

@Alwaysdecorating I hope your dd has a fab year! Can’t believe you have the willpower not to look at the scales lol.

@DixiePeach try this maybe. Am thinking about trying for my dog. https://www.chemist-4-u.com/viscotears-liquid-gel-for-dry-eyes-10g?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIzsO825qlgQMVRNbtCh3YQAGEEAQYAiABEgIrM_D_BwE He has optimmune for dogs, which isn’t cheap!

@Sturnidae
Those are some hefty goals. How’s it going?

Hi! I'm enjoying reading everyone's progress so far!

I have failed a bit on the yoga front recently and have been a bit inconsistent on water intake, but on the plus side I've lost another couple of pounds, bringing me to about a stone in weight loss in total (I didn't dare weigh myself for a week or two but I knew where I was roughly).

I got some new costume jewellery today to add some sparkle to my wardrobe.

Quite fancy a bath this evening once DD is in bed and painting my nails in either nail glow or a newish iridescent white colour. I always feel an instant glow lift with either of those 😁

psuedocream3 · 13/09/2023 15:48

I fell off the wagon recently with so much going on.

I did have my hair cut and coloured, the cut was much needed, but the colour isn't what I've asked for at all. I'll need to get around to redoing it myself properly and is on my to do list.

Today I've removed two prominent skin tags that have bothered me for a while, I'm feeling a bit more motivated now.

I have found a local clinic that does microblading, tans, lashes and nails and checked the price list so I can save up for those in time for my birthday.

I already do skincare, but haircare could be improved. I must lose some weight as I gained loads over the summer thanks to all inclusive. I need new batteries for the scale though so I will order those tonight.

Tomorrow I shall do the dreaded weigh in and get myself a plan together for healthy eating, exercising and upping my water intake. Think I will need to set some weight loss rewards for hitting goals though, need the motivation!

DixiePeach · 13/09/2023 20:45

@Mummyoflittledragon thanks for the recommendation I’ll give them a try when I’ve used the expensive drops the optician got me to buy.

Silverdogblue · 13/09/2023 20:53

@psuedocream3 i gave myself a good 10 days of looking after myself before I weighed in. I didn’t want to be demoralised, I already felt loads better from not drinking etc so rather than face it all at once, I went in gently! Don’t forget to be kind to yourself.

MotherWol · 14/09/2023 14:47

I'm finding this thread so motivating! Wins for this week:

  • doing really well with the vitamins, although I don't know if they're making a difference (multivitamin, omega 3, plant sterols for my cholesterol)
  • meal prepped lunches for two weeks in a row! saving me money at lunchtime and better for me as less UPF
  • twice daily cleanse & moisturise, and now it's getting into Autumn adding a facial oil at bedtime
  • hair's looking better after a cut, but still needs a deep conditioner or oil, and I'm thinking about henna again

@Alwaysdecorating well done on the smoking! DD has wavy/curly hair, and our routine is:

  • wash twice weekly with Aldi oil shampoo
  • while wet, detangle with Denman brush, and smooth through curl cream, then scrunch in curl gel and gently blow-dry
  • in the mornings, spray with water and detangle with Tangle Teezer, scrunch curls back
I'm thinking about getting a diffuser for my hairdryer as that's supposed to be great for curls. There's loads of wavy hair tips on Instagram if you're on that, it's a good place to look for advice!

I keep meaning to go and check out the gym near my office and failing to actually follow through on it, but that has to be next on the list. Just a bit worried that everyone there is going to be super-young and fit...

Mummyoflittledragon · 14/09/2023 15:07

So I’m all fake tanned. First time in my life. No one will recognise me at the wedding with my fake acrylic nails (never again) lol. Am just doing it with my 15 yo dd, who has the most amazing figure… I’ve lost 10kg now which is just over 1.5 stones. The dress I bought is now a bit big. Could have done with the 18 so have bought another dress and am going to change for the evening. Have also got 2 pairs of Spanx.

Hair tomorrow first thing. Then I’ll glam myself up with makeup, which I hardly ever wear and off we go for the evening do tomorrow and the main event Saturday…

newyorkinthefall · 15/09/2023 19:30

I am a mess. A big fat mess. I started this thread as a way to get myself to a better place but I’m in even more of a mess. I’ve done none of the things I said I was going to do and I feel so shit about myself. I so badly want to take better care of myself but I just seem to self sabotage at every turn. I don’t even know why I’m like this.

newyorkinthefall · 15/09/2023 19:31

Sorry didn’t mean to be so negative. I’m going to go for a walk now and pull myself together!

@newyorkinthefall breathe! Tomorrow is a new day. I just checked back on your list - if you go for that walk now and walk around six thousand steps then you will have achieved one of the things on your original list. When you get back drink several glasses of water and that would be two ticks!

You are worth being kind to yourself! 💐

newyorkinthefall · 15/09/2023 23:01

Thank you @Allthatwegotisthispalebluedot you are very kind. Tomorrow really is a new day, I’m not going to dwell on what I haven’t achieved but instead count the wins. I gave myself a good shake and have some wins to report this evening!

  • went for a walk and got todays sleep count up to 6,879
  • drank bottle of water (500ml)
  • didn’t snack even though I could hear some crisps calling my name 🙈
  • had a relaxing bath
  • did evening skincare routine as well as hand and foot cream
  • now I’m going to read some of my book instead of doom scrolling
OP posts:
thebabessavedme · 15/09/2023 23:20

Oh my love! @newyorkinthefall WE ALL DO IT! fuck it up i mean! Its so easy to do and so tough to stick our goals. Just keep on trying! that's all we can do, give thanks for the times we get it right and forgive ourselves for the bits that go tits up!

I think it was WC that coined the phrase 'keep on buggering on'!

That’s quite a decent list of achievements for one evening. You’ve done brilliantly to get back on track. Just need to koko.

Alwaysdecorating · 16/09/2023 06:51

@newyorkinthefall we all do it. We all fall off the wagon. I think it’s amazing that you came back to the thread. You checked in, talked about your disappointment and then picked yourself up and made sure you got some wins in.

I think I would have probably disappeared in all honesty.

That’s really amazing! It would have been so easy to just give up all together. I have done that more times than I can count.

and remember, you started this thread. We are all here because of you. Most of us are up and down. But this thread is helping. That’s because of you.

Poblano · 16/09/2023 08:43

@newyorkinthefall please don't beat yourself up about what you haven't done. Most of us are in the same boat, I know I haven't done half the things I wanted to because I'm exhausted from travelling with work. But I'm looking to the future - things are quieter next week so I can get back on it.

Trainers are on this morning and I'm off out for a brisk walk before it rains!

iamthattree · 16/09/2023 09:03

I haven't popped back on here but firstly OP have a hug. I feel like that weekly tbh then back in the horse I get...

I have been okish. Back in the gym post holiday and that's going well. I am still not seeing many changes but I can lift heavier things so somewhere good stuff is happening!

Food is better but not great. I am tracking on mpf to lose 0.5lb per week but in reality I am not loosing anything but that's ok. I am eating a bit better, cooking more etc. been sleeping a lot better - averaging 7 hours rather than the 5/6 I was having over the holidays.

Am just about to go shopping for some work stuff. It will be hard, it always is. But I am making an effort to dress a bit better/do my hair and make up instead of slobbing round the shopping centre in trackies.

This afternoon I am doing some yoga, having a bath and tinting my eyebrows. Then reading a book and watching strictly and eating a nice, healthy dinner. Plus a cocktail! If I only have one alcoholic drink a week I am making it a good one!

Poblano · 16/09/2023 14:05

OK, end of the week de-brief.

Things that have gone well:
Drank lots of water
Didn't drink any alcohol (even when out networking at a work event)
Took vitamins every day
Moisturised every day
Walked lots
Went to the farmers market and bought lots of fresh, organic, local vegetables
Bought this dress for a wedding and it fits and looks good.

Things that didn't go so well:
Didn't get chance to go for a swim
Drank too much coffee
Ate lots of the wrong foods - pastries and buffet at work event, sandwiches grabbed at train station to eat while travelling, dinner out with colleagues, then when back in the office I've just grabbed a toastie from the work coffee shop because I'm too tired to make packed lunch, then a bar of chocolate and a coffee mid afternoon.

Next week I will:
Keep up the water, vitamins, skincare and walking
Drink less coffee
Swim at least once (preferably twice)
Start online Pilates classes - I have access to 4 a week and am aiming to do at least 3
Use some of the farmers market vegetables to make nice salads to take to work and eat for lunch
Snack on fruit.

@newyorkinthefall don’t be so hard on yourself - you started this and it’s thanks to you that we’re all here, trying to make little changes to how we look and feel! We all have our ups and downs, and sometimes it can feel impossible, but we’re all here for you and cheering you on 🥰

Hello , I know this is a 100 Days to Dec 1st thread but today is 100 Days to Christmas Xmas Grin

This morning I did an exfolliant treatment on my face , it takes a few minutes which I often don't have spare during the week.
I've been having to wash my hair every day over the heatwave spell as I wake up with a sweaty menopausal head ( nice ) so I need to bump up the conditioning treatments .

Counting down to a holiday in October , then Hallowe'en, Guy Fawkes Night and December .

Alwaysdecorating · 16/09/2023 19:11

Evening All

100 days until Christmas! Wow! I need to keep remembering those days will pass quickly. If I stick to my healthy eating I could have lost a couple of stone. Or (if I don’t) but some on.

My very Glamours Aunt is having her 70th birthday and her first wedding anniversary party in early January. I would love to have lost a good amount by then.

Got all my ingredients ready to go so I can meal prep in the morning. Still not smoking, can’t believe it’s been 5 weeks. I have not been great at everything. Really need to increase my steps, I haven’t been doing that. Or taking my supplements everyday. But I am happy with my progress so far. I am going to try and improve those this week. Onwards and upwards!

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

Wow, that's amazing work on stopping smoking! That's the single best thing you can do for your health, you're doing great!

Poblano · 17/09/2023 18:09

Today I have:

Used an overnight resurfacing mask
Been for a walk
Eaten lots of fruit and veg (cherries on my porridge for breakfast, tomato and lentil soup for lunch, carrots, cabbage and parsnips on my roast dinner)
Roast some vegetables for packed lunch salads - tomorrow's is going to be beetroot, lentils, salad leaves and goats cheese
Drunk lots of water
Taken vitamins
Ironed my outfits for work for the week
Polished my shoes
Booked an appointment for an eyebrow shape

Am about to paint my nails.

How is everyone else doing?

Allthatwegotisthispalebluedot · 17/09/2023 19:04

I went to a spin class (the second of the weekend!) and did a face mask today. Toenails and fingernails were painted one week ago and still look ok so hopefully they’ll last ‘til Friday and I’ll re-do them then for next weekend. I’ve got a gel nail kit and this is the longest I’ve got out of doing them myself (8 days so far!) so I’m quite pleased with that. It’ll save me £70 a month if I start doing them myself!

I tidied my flat today, and I cooked dinner for tonight and tomorrow (veg packed pasta bake!). Im sitting with a scented candle lit and I feel quite peaceful now. Hopefully this will last all week as I’ve been feeling very very stressed out.

Mummyoflittledragon · 17/09/2023 19:27

So I’m back from the wedding. It was lovely. The whole thing and I’m so chuffed it went incredibly well for the b&g. They both looked amazing and the love between them. 😍

I’ve been very very ill for the past decade, often bedridden and a series of surgeries. My health is finally starting to improve and have reinvented myself from stage 2 obese, disabled woman to 1.5 stone / 10.5kg lighter, semi able bodied woman - now stage 1 obese. It was awesome.

The bridal hairdresser was so ahead of time that the bride offered me the opportunity to have my hair done and she gave me the most incredible updo. It was like something out of a Jane Austen novel. I cried. Silly me.

We stayed 2 nights at the country home / wedding venue. I wore my 3 new dresses and had a few compliments, especially on the orange party dress the evening before the wedding. The spray tan was great as it obscured the deep purple thread / varicose veins to some extent on my legs. Then I had fresh outfits for both the day and evening. Dd (15) dh and I coordinated colours for the day. One of the bridesmaids (late 20s) complimented my evening outfit (early 50s) that they didn’t get the memo to change! So that was a real boost.

I ended up wearing the back up New Look flats for dancing rather than the kitten heels as there was a lot of uneven flooring but that didn’t make me feel less glam. And a thanks for Spanx. I bought a couple of the very short shorts for the occasion rather than knickers as I thought these would show fewer lines - my dresses all have front slits and intend to get more of the things. I may try the Amazon ones. I need pulling in low down as my stomach has seriously sagged from the surgeries and cutting all the way around my belly button.

For the day dress I wished I’d kept the size 18. I sent it back and kept the 20. I also bought the 16 as they were in the sale (about £70 from £250) to give me an incentive to continue to lose weight after the wedding. Anyway, I ended up wearing the 16 (thank goodness for Lycra) and I shall be selling the 20 as new with tags!

I expected my 15 yo dd to be a potential man magnet as she is rather beautiful, thankfully not. However, embarrassingly I caught the attention of a married guy, who told me he liked me because I was fun. It’s been so long since that happened that I was a bit stumped. My dh is useless at anything like that… and was busy partying and getting pissed… Much as it was nice not to be invisible for a moment, I couldn’t see his wife (who seemed rather lovely and more glam than me) to help me out.

Anyway, I danced most of the night... I could never have imagined myself doing that in my wildest dreams a few months ago due to such low energy. I also lost one of my acrylic nails - oops. Think I’ll live with it and remove / get them removed asap.

Dd, at 15, was mortifying embarrassed at my dancing (lololol), preferring to dance with my more sedate cousin (MOB). Idk if it will last as chronic fatigue has a way of catching up with you. But I told dh, who tried to tell me to pace myself, I wanted to have as much fun as possible and deal with the consequences later.

I’m back home and the scales have informed me I’ve put 2 kg on. Not surprised as the food was rich. I also ate a lot more than usual and it was impossible to do 16/8, especially on 5 hours of sleep both nights. I also drank a fair amount of alcohol. The soft drinks and tonic were also full sugar when I am drinking lots of water and pretty much t-total as it normally flattens me. Am buzzing from finally feeling alive and need to koko now. Idk what winter will bring for my health. But Christmas is 99 days away… so that’s something to look forward to.
