Would anyone like to join in on a 100 day princessing journey?

100 days from today is 1st December so a perfect time to start our princessing journeys. I’m overweight, constantly tired and feel generally rubbish about myself. I want to make this a priority so hopefully posting here will make all of us a little accountable and we can all support each other…

This week has been HARD! The nursery run really took it out of me and I’ve been so sloppy!

But today I tidied the house and had a bit of quiet time so put on a face mask, scrubbed my feet with a pumice stone, applied cuticle oil and put on some hair products to tame my frizz.

Xeren · 03/09/2023 16:29

@Silverdogblue an inch is amazing! Wow! 💐

LivingDeadGirlUK · 03/09/2023 18:39

I was on one of the previous threads and something I really wanted to work on was my nails. I've been using a growth treatment on them for around 6 months now, and been taking a wellwoman vitamin supplement for nearly a year. My nails are still incredibly thin, although they do grow quickly. Any tips for strengthening them up rather than just making them grow?

Recently had blood tests done for other symptoms and not deficient in anything diet wise!

I have spent a zillion hours on trains today to get to a conference that starts tomorrow. It was already a long journey (~7hrs) but then some trains were cancelled which made it longer. So my step count is terrible, apart from the occasional sprint towing a suitcase whilst changing trains! I have however read half a book and watched a lot of Netflix.

Am now sat in the hotel restaurant with a bowl of pasta and a glass of wine and don't care that this will not help my princessing quest.

Thank you! I did start measuring with the wrong end of the tape measure and got quite excited before I realised. Blush

Taking care of yourself is absolutely part of princessing!

Bath and a scrub with Korean Italy Cloth , an amazing amount if skin came off my arms and back , less from my legs.

I'm Princessing for a holiday in six weeks so the countdown is on Grin

Alwaysdecorating · 03/09/2023 20:01

I am back at work tomorrow after 10 days off. So far, princessing wise I have only managed to stop smoking. 3 weeks and one day.

But I spent those 10 days decorating the living room and main hallway and decorating for autumn. I have decided that if something brings me joy I am doing it. So I decorated, got autumn decorations and made the living room into a cozy, happy place with pumpkins and fairy lights and autumn leaf decor.

I have also extended this to my work life. I have a senior position and got myself a colourful laptop case, cute stationary and cable cases. New Tupperware and food prepped my lunches and dinners for the next 3 days (til I am wfh). I got a cute weekly pill box for my medication so I am not getting stressed trying to get it all ready in the morning.

My clothes and jewellery are all laid out, dressing table all organised. I am aiming to make tomorrow morning as stress free as possible.

I need to loose a lot of weight. But for now I am concentrating on eating healthy food rather than calories or trying to drop as much as I can. Hopefully my energy levels will increase. I have felt so old since my mum died 18 months ago. I ache, low energy, bad joints. Hopefully tomorrow is the first day of that changing and me working my way back to who I was before

@Alwaysdecorating stopping smoking is a MASSIVE achievement. Well done.

Mummyoflittledragon · 04/09/2023 05:27

Well done @Alwaysdecorating giving up smoking is amazing! I know it’s hard to do. Keep on treating your body with love and care.

OuiLaLa · 04/09/2023 09:00

I’m only so so on my list - have been really good at scrubbing/pumicing my feet every day and they look better. Also been good with skincare. Been so so on multivits but failed on water and other stuff.

my husband did the ‘weekly’ online shop and we picked it up on Saturday. Already out of 8 things. He really believes you only need to replace empty stuff so anything running out or a bit low doesn’t get a look in 🙄. like he can’t process that you actually need to have enough for the week and 3/4 of a milk won’t cut it. I’m not going to take over though.

DD starts school tomorrow and she is really up and down so that takes up most of my time. Plus trying to get DS to sleep in his cot which is so much better than this time last week but still a work in progress.

OuiLaLa · 04/09/2023 09:01

@Alwaysdecorating giving up smoking is the biggest impact you could have for your health so a huge well done! If you didn’t change anything else then it would still be a huge achievement!!

Not heard of these clothes before but they look good, got one coming today to try!

Lovelydovey · 04/09/2023 15:06

Joining in this late as was on holiday and came back with covid! My goals are to:

  • drink 3l water daily
  • eat 30 fruit and veg each week
  • cut out UPFs and sugar
  • walk 10k steps per day
  • take my make up off before bed
  • use body moisturiser daily
Alwaysdecorating · 04/09/2023 18:58

Ah thanks everyone. I was feeling a big disappointed that all I ah d managed was stopping smoking. Really though it’s a big deal. I have smoked on an off for 20 years and I have smoked so much more since mum died so it is a big achievement. I need to remember that.

Today I completed my list. Ate all the food I prepped and didn’t snack on crap. Started the day with lemon and ginger in hot water, rather than coffee and spent 15 mins stretching. Moisturised, put make up on, jewellery on. I increased my steps by just over 500. Drank more water.

Just need to get through the evening without binging on chocolate. Absolutely exhausted though. I only slept for about 3 hours last night. I worry lack of sleep will be my downfall.

But day one done and I will try to have an early night. Hope everyone else is well.

Silverdogblue · 04/09/2023 20:14

@Alwaysdecorating when I was a HCP, we were always told that stopping is the very best thing you can ever do for your health. You’ve done an amazing job!

thebabessavedme · 04/09/2023 21:05

@Alwaysdecorating Go you! I was a very heavy smoker, gave up 25 years ago, honestly the best thing for my health ever. Considering my age and my 60 a day habit I can tell you that my skin is fresh looking, a good colour and no 'cats bum' wrinkles around my mouth Grin I am also now classed as 'never having smoked' by the doctor.

Doing ok here, life stress levels through the roof, diet a bit shit, but I am drinking loads of water, so small wins.

BuddhaAtSea · 05/09/2023 20:36

Right…I tried eating just 2 (big) meals a day for the past 4 days (ie absolutely no snacks). I’m still adjusting, I’m fighting sugar craves. But, I have a soup at lunch, with croutons, a massive salad and lots of fruit.
Dinners are salads, then pasta with roasted vegetables. Beans for protein etc.
To fight the sugar craves, I chop an apple and have that with peanut butter.
It’s a bit weird, but I really must reset my mind and refrain from snacking.

Did my manicure and pedicure last week. And I’ve been choosing an outfit the night before.
I’ll continue with my fight against snacking:)

MotherWol · 06/09/2023 14:47

It's still early days, but I'm feeling fairly positive about progress so far! Been diligent about taking my vitamins, I've been reading up on habit stacking to make a behaviour change stick. So now in the morning when I get my coffee I take my vitamins and then it's done for the day.

Today I've got a long-overdue haircut to deal with my frizzy, out of control hair. Meal prep for the week was done on monday, so I've got healthy packed lunches for the week and balanced dinners done. I'd like to spend less time mindlessly scrolling in the evenings so finding ways to break up with my phone is next on my self-improvement list. Has anyone successfully replaced doomscrolling with something better, and how did you do it?

Habit Stacking Is the Easiest Way to Make New Habits Last—Here's How It Works

Habit stacking involves "stacking" a new behavior you're trying to adopt onto a current behavior in order to help you remember to do it and/or perform it with less mental effort. Here's how to get started.

Silverdogblue · 06/09/2023 15:36

@MotherWol i downgraded my phone! Accessing anything was so painfully slow and glitchy, I just gave up. Now MN is the only social media I do.

Can I join you on the fairly positive habit stacking step?

I’ve managed to declutter to the tune of £3k! And paid a loan off with the product. Still a mountain to go but it’s helping me feel less bogged down.

CoQ10 · 06/09/2023 15:47

Also joining. I need to start slowly increasing exercise and steps. I've had long covid and terrible fatigue for 18 months which has resulted in two stones of flab joining me!

What fitness trackers do you all use / recommend?

PersephonePomegranate23 · 06/09/2023 18:16

Hello Princesses, I got back from holiday yesterday. Back to work, school and eating healthily today after a week of eating out and drinking every night. Feeling so rested though (despite the mental day back at work) so it was well worth it!

Currently celebrating making it through the day with a small G&T, but otherwise, back on top of the regime and feeling good.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 08/09/2023 07:51

Not really done too much princessing this week, it’s been so hot! I have done my feet every evening though, painted my nails and moisturised, plus I have a lovely peppermint foot spray which is really cooling. I have a family do tomorrow and went shopping for a dress, found exactly nothing, so I ordered 4 from nobody’s child to try which I am hoping will arrive today as I paid for next day delivery. One of those will have to be my dress, I felt so miserable in the changing rooms looking at my body and not finding a single nice thing to wear. Next week I’m going to really focus on my diet and getting more veg in, I have done well with not snacking this week but I still need to reduce the quantity of food I eat if I actually want to lose any weight.

Silverdogblue · 08/09/2023 08:22

@thenewaveragebear1983 it can be so demoralising, the mirrors in changing rooms. Don’t let it get you down though, your body has done amazing things and it’s time to be kind to it. Baby steps and all that.

I’ve lost another inch from my waist! Delighted after 11 days of this thread. Although my scales say I’ve put on 5lb, I think I may need new scales because that’s definitely not true. Managed to get my steps in every day this month as well so far!

Well done, an inch is fab! It could be your scales or water retention etc. Weight does fluctuate without meaning fat gain, measurements are far more reliable. It can be so demoralising to step on the scales and see numbers going in the wrong direction!

I've come back from holiday and for once haven't used it as an excuse to carry on eating too much or treating myself to overcome the post-holiday blues! I've actually managed to get back on it and eat well!

I have treated myself to some new loafers for my autumn wardrobe and a necklace, though 😀 I neglected jewellery for years but I find I feel so much more put together when wearing some.
