Thread to discuss and compare 2023 Beauty Advent contents. Started because Liberty has already published their contents.

The Vogue one is interesting. I'm not a jewelry fan - but I think there is some good stuff in there.

Ren Body Oil instead of AHA toner - Hallelujah!

There are a few too many hair products in Selfridges for me - hair perfume anyone ?

Still holding out hope for LiB or Selfridges although Harvey Nicks is interesting.

I got the Bare Minerals bargain AC last year too and gave it to my sister for Christmas. She’s really liked it.

I am definitely not buying one of the expensive ACs now. I succumbed to the skin care kit Caroline Hirons brought out yesterday. So it is definitely M&S for me and I’m going to try to avoid looking at what is in it.

Be careful what you wish for though, demand was a lot lower last year (hence the reductions) so chances are retailers won't have produced as many this year so you might see less discounts. It's a gamble. It's also possibly why they're not quite as good this year. If they don't shift them and have to discount they might just scrap them in future years.

I agree, there were so many reduced last year I suspect they won't make as many this year though of course I'd love a bargain (I also got the BM one at £24 thanks to this thread!)

I'm really unsure which to get, I was waiting on Selfridges but I'm not excited
I might go Elemis though I like a mixture really

I hope LIB do a Collab with Style again this year. Last year's calendar was excellent. Previous ones of just LIB or LIB/You didn't compare. Their Elle one a few years ago was very nice. LIB was one of the very first ACs. They would do a Collab with The Mail on Sunday You magazine every year. I would get very excited and always buy it. Little did I know that how expensive/indulgent ACs would become.

I love the Vogue advent. The only thing I don’t like is the price ( and maybe that Foreo thing as I know I won’t use it). Definitely considering…

Got an email about the Revolution AC. Looks okaaaay but think I’m erring towards Next, M and S or Boots Premium.

Wow the vogue calendar is a thing of beauty but I don’t think I could justify the cost! 😬

IIRC Superdrug reduce the price of the Revolution ACs for Black Friday. I've never succumbed but I like some of their eyeshadows, so I'm going to keep a look out this year. I need more makeup than skincare really.

@BaconAndAvocado i think M&S is released at end of October. Boots premium is, I think, 12 September so actually not far away! Like you I’m leaning towards one of these two although would also like to see JL contents before committing!!

I want the Vogue one, it’s the only one so far that I’ve really liked. But I don’t think I can justify £350 even with the welcome 10% off. Ugh. I hope LIB /Style / JL come through…

The Vogue one looks beautiful but way too expensive.

The Revolution calendar looks good, all very usable contents. Will definitely buy it for me and DD to share - thanks for the reminder about the deals around Black Friday @QueefofSheena I will hold off until then!

M&S site says their calendar is on sale in-store and online from 26th October.

Not sure if this has already been posted but the Look Fantastic AC is available on preorder now for £99 and if you follow Diary of a 40 Something on FB she has shared a code that takes it to about £78ish.

Personally I really love the contents of this so I've bitten already...

Would make for a pretty dismal Christmas Day I guess but a marvellous December!

I've had a few allergic reactions to trying new skincare recently so I think it's going to have to be a solely make-up calendar for me this year. Can anyone recommend any to watch out for, other than MAC?

If anyone missed out on the preorder for the harrods fragrance calendar last both of the calendars went on sale in the store this morning. Apparently the fragrance calendar won't be available online now although the beauty one will be. I bought my fragrance calendar in the store about an hour ago and they didn't have very many left - the sales assistant said they expected to sell out by the end of the day. She said that they have good stocks of the main beauty advent calendar.

CB has a few disappointing repeats like AB, Olaplex no3 and the SPF but I think it’s my favourite so far. I like the variety.

I’m not convinced as of yet though.
