Is This OK for a September wedding? I love the style but think it might be too dark?

I like the Lipsy one, the polyester puts me off but I'm permanently warm 🙄...

Yeah bit worried about that.

I think the first one is classy....you could accessorise it and look simple and stunning.

Desperatenow1 · 24/07/2023 19:36

I also really like the new animal print one that Reiss have....not read the thread so don't know if it has already been suggested.

Jasper Conran do loads of shirt dresses, some cotton, some silk, the silk are lovely! I particularly like this colour though...for September it would be nice, plain but could dress it up.

My goodness that is stunning and absolutely timeless. I wish I had occasion to wear it!

The Kevan Jon dress is strunning, especially with the little hat! I love the Reiss animal print too!

Isn't it just gorgeous......I am even thinking of buying it for work :)

I also like the Chloe georgette black and white shirt dress...

I'd love to get a hat similar for the wedding I am going to, but it is just not that kind of wedding so going to forego it :)

The Jasper Conran dress is lovely in pink too.

Now thats a "Me" dress. If lipsy don't come through for me on the fabric then I'll try this one (bit pricey but it's gorgeous) Then the 100 stars.

Not for a wedding too dark. Maybe if you love the groom and are mourning him going off the market

It could be worn for office work. It's a very smart dress.

I had completely forgotten about the existence of Jasper Conran. It's a sort of affordable version of Susanna and a much nicer version of Bombshell.

Phoenix4479 · 28/07/2023 05:29

Have you looked at Monsoon? I always like their dresses for weddings, and Coast also.
What size are you? I'm actually about to list a couple of new dresses for sale if you would like details sending? X

MrsMarzetti · 05/08/2023 15:48

I certainly wouldn't wear to a wedding but to be honest i wouldn't wear it all, looks too much like a overall women used to wear in supermarkets.

Zone2NorthLondon · 05/08/2023 21:57

Christ don’t ask mn,it’s so staid and trad, nice floral and bolero cardi is usual recommendation
it’s a smart dress, if it appeals wear it. You don’t need permission or approval

Desperatenow1 · 06/08/2023 06:50

What did you decide on noglow?

63tootS · 06/08/2023 12:33

This would absolutely be fine for a wedding. Can see it with a nice white net hat/fascinator and classy white heels.

Highdaysandholidays1 · 06/08/2023 15:49

Pink/white heels? A fascinator? Nope. I hate wedding wear, it's like being the Princess of Wales without the money...

I thought the first dress was classy and would wear to a wedding. I have never worn florals, colours or a fascinator to one myself and I think I always look stylish and well-put together.

I would go as you, OP. So get the dress in which you feel most like you and most confident, because most on this thread are nice and suitable for weddings.

Highdaysandholidays1 · 06/08/2023 15:51

Also, getting a dress that can be used for both wedding and work is a great idea, it's fine to wear navy for a wedding, when did navy not become a wedding colour (and Sept can be sunny but chilly or pouring with rain, I needed a jacket the other day in August)? Lighter shoes fine. The Jasper Conran dress would fit that brief.

Exactly, I hate the idea of The Wedding Outfit. Wear what makes you feel you and what makes you feel good. Some fabulous choices here, including your very first one.

Wear black to a wedding only if you are protesting the marriage. Black is for funerals and mourning (people even do that less) Or little black dress date nights. Not appropriate for weddings.
