Is This OK for a September wedding? I love the style but think it might be too dark?

Btw noglow, I'm wearing this to a wedding on Saturday - www.endource.com/product/allsaints-isa-jasumin-dress/YepTPkbg-wABpVgS

That is great.

PoshPineapple · 20/07/2023 08:34

It's not my cup of tea at all, but I'm trying to be impartial - I just don't think it screams wedding, more corporate or (dare I say it) funereal!

Theblacksheepandme · 20/07/2023 09:10

The 100 Stars dress is beautiful.

PollyThePixie · 20/07/2023 10:43

A thousand star garments are very lightweight and floaty. They don’t sit very well apart from the short Kimonos.

Horsedoglover59 · 20/07/2023 11:19

What about this - nice and floaty, with a v neck and sleeves, still dark but with a bit of colour. It's from Roman and I do think it's pretty.

Just seen what you said about midaxi. How about this pretty dress by Monsoon but on the M&S website - and in the sale.

Yes go for it! I think it's classy & elegant especially if you add a fascinator & accessorise in a brighter colour xx

meins · 22/07/2023 12:26

I like it - but for work. Agree that you need something more partyish! September cld b warm aswell!

No see that's a lovely dress but it just has one too many things going on for me. I love the colour though.

I like all three dresses. The first two would look great with plain matador type hats if you could bear to wear one.
I have a horror of "wedding outfit" dresses. I was nearly in tears after the lovely sales people in many shops tried to help me find a suitable mother of the bride outfit. I ended up buying a dress I liked that was not remotely weddingy and with black boots and a black leather biker jacket. But it was a smart biker jacket iyswim. Offspring were not in the least bothered, because it was what suited me. You know what suits you, you have a style. Just because it's a wedding you don't have to dress like somebody else.

I'm guessing This is also a no..

UPDATE I ordered this one (for work) and the fabric was terrible so returned it

Have you ordered anything btw?

A woman at my daughters confirmation wore something very similar to the Reiss dress and looked incredibly chic. Gorgeous make-up, very subtle expensive silver jewellery, a clutch bag and the most amazing very high striped multicoloured stilletos. I think you'd have to go all out on the shoes with this dress, no dull nude or anything but a really strong colour like orange or yellow. And then I think it could be fabulous in a very classy way. This woman really stood out amidst some very try-hard looks.

Hmm maybe not. It doesn't look as formal.

Heres another very similar striped one but in white so not suitable but the stripes seem to be a thing?

well that really made me
laugh so I don’t think you are boring!!

GammonAndEggs · 22/07/2023 21:42

I love it! But then again I loved the first one 😂

Mummyoflittledragon · 22/07/2023 21:51

The 2nd dress you ordered is likely to be very thin and I think too casual. I like both the 100 stars and the Karen Millen dress. It’s cream and looks nothing like a wedding dress, especially with the black. I think it’s fine for a wedding personally, especially once accessorised.

Jennybeans401 · 22/07/2023 22:49

Would look good at a funeral

SammyScrounge · 23/07/2023 01:39

GammonAndEggs · 16/07/2023 21:45

I think it’s GORGEOUS and would wear it to a wedding, with sparkly silver shoes.

It's very elegant and classy.

CKMc2b · 23/07/2023 13:24

Ooh I wouldn't, it definitely looks like corporate work wear. What about a floral pattern, or something flowy, or sparkly instead?

The brown stripey one? It was awful. Put me right off reiss. The fabric was terrible.
