What's the one thing you've done for years and years which you'd never go without?

OP posts:

Can I ask what foundation if any, you wear over the primer please?

HairMb · 13/07/2023 23:12

Yes us childless women just float about with nothing to worry about. Hmm

Walk walk walk.

Good skin, nourished brain with all that blood pumping up there, good posture, toned, well audio read.

This. Walk everywhere you can.

Appalonia · 13/07/2023 23:15

Korean sheet masks
Origins Vitazing.
Don't go grey!
Stay out of the sun.
Dewy foundation.

Highdaysandholidays1 · 13/07/2023 23:16

I use some old supplies I have of Bourgois Healthy Mix Foundation the gel one, it's lighter than their current formulation which is a medium coverage (too much for me).

I'm on the lookout for a new foundation eventually, but will be using the primer for ever, it's not cheap. I found it on a youtube tutorial, tried it and unlike most things, it worked.

Appalonia · 13/07/2023 23:17

Also, getting your colours done really brightens up your complexion, if you're pale, ditch the black, it's v draining.

DuchessOfSausage · 13/07/2023 23:20

I didn't find getting my colours done particularly helped, but steering away from colours that don't suit you does.
Bright colours if on a video call.

Mirandawrongs · 13/07/2023 23:21

Sleep, water (drink in morning before caffeine), SPF at least 30, a thin layer of Vaseline over face, neck and chest before bed.
oh and sex - must be good though

OddsOn · 13/07/2023 23:24

Genetics, I’m mixed race plus stay out of the sun, stay slim, mainly home cooked food, No rapid weight loss and gain. I think that’s a lot of stress on the body.

dearJayne · 13/07/2023 23:27

Serum and Botox

The OP didn’t say childless women have nothing to worry about. She stated they don’t have a child waking them a few times a night.

Rishisrightfoot · 13/07/2023 23:28

A relative is married to someone who’s DF used to be head of the British Medical Association. At their wedding, my aunt asked him what was the one thing people could do to help them live longer (appreciate this is not specific to this topic). He said “eat less”. Presumably this would also help with how you look too.

Jongleterre · 13/07/2023 23:30

A few things.

I've never been overweight and now I'm old I make sure I stay slender. Clothes look so much better than if you're carrying weight.

Vaseline. Used it on my face for decades. On top of serums and moisturisers.

Wearing sunglasses all year round.

Vitamin B12 supplements.

Removing stress as best you can from your life even if it means being selfish.

Ketzele · 13/07/2023 23:30

Being fat is great for your skin!

Jongleterre · 13/07/2023 23:30

No alcohol either.

Ketzele · 13/07/2023 23:33

I clean and moisturise with oils, don't smoke or drink, keep out of the sun. I have also adapted my make up as I get older - nothing too heavy, matte or glittery.

Lavenderandbrown · 13/07/2023 23:38

start young with a zinc oxide based sunscreen. Wear it on face neck and chest daily. Sunscreen is essential. Also good are sunglasses daily moisturizer head to toe and a good nights sleep.

Fundays12 · 13/07/2023 23:39

Use SPF50 most of the year and a minimum of SPF30 in the winter. I don't sunbathe and wear a sun hat. Drink lots of water, walk a couple of miles a day (fit it into your daily routine) and sleep
