Six weeks to total revamp?

i am the frumpy mum in the school playground.

Fat. Pasty. Frumpy clothes. Older than average (had children late). Crunchy hair. Shy. You know the one.

Now the school holidays are starting I’m wondering if I could go back in the autumn completely transformed. And finally fit in.

Any ideas for my Sandy from Grease transformation?

Fainting at the gym must have been awful. I hope you weren’t injured at all. Do take it easy until you’re fully recovered.

The microblading lasts about two years. I don’t know if I’ll redo it at that time or not, I’ll have to see how much it improves my appearance long term. It doesn’t hurt much getting it done. Less painful than waxing, more like an irritating prickly sensation.

Sorry that was in reply to @Arewehumanorarewecupboards

@LBB2020 and @CharlieHadAPigeon thanks. No, luckily I went really hot first so put the weights down. I shouldn’t have gone but I’m really stubborn and don’t like to give in.

Thanks for the info on micro blading! I’ll look into people that do it nearby. Another silly question though, what happens to your own eyebrows? Do you just keep them tidy and the micro blading is behind them? Can we blame my unwell brain if that sounds really ridiculous!

OscarsAmmonite2 · 02/08/2023 21:43

I'd like to join. Post menopausal and have teen so no school run but I'm still shopping for school uniform 😂

@Arewehumanorarewecupboards your normal eyebrows are still there. The microblading just makes them look more defined, like when you use an eyebrow pencil on them.

Me. Looked hot last year. Looking not this year.

Gowlett · 05/08/2023 13:34

Perimenopause. Six months in.
Older mum. Lost the baby weight.
Let cake back in the door…
Need hair / teeth / clothes / skin.

CharlieHadAPigeon · 05/08/2023 13:37

I deep conditioned my hair this morning, did a tooth whitening treatment, had collagen powder twice, and ordered a new item of clothing that I think will go well with several things I already own.

@notacooldad I just tried to order from that site but It said did not deliver to UK? Help !!

Steppingintome · 05/08/2023 15:05

We’ll be able to spot a mumsnetter in September now because theylll all look fabulous at the school gates! Lol..

As I mentioned before I’ve lost a lot of weight so I’ve sorted more big clothes out to be sold/go to charity shops. I’ve replaced some of my falling down jeans and pants with new ones that fit.

I’ve had my brows waxed and tinted (can’t afford micro blading) and treat myself to some keratese shampoo which last time I used was amazing but budget was tight and had to stop. I’ve also been using some nuxe dry oil on my hair and face. New tubing mascara and been using this works perfect legs skin miracle on my legs to show off my tan from holiday and make it last a bit longer hopefully. I’ve also been using my prescribed teeth whitener (which I always forget about). I’ve been giving myself shellac pedicures too so my feet look better.

I've not ordered for a couple of months.
I was going to order on a week or two. That's worrying !

Mummyoflittledragon · 05/08/2023 15:41

Ooh just picked up this thread. Have been eating healthier for the past 8 weeks. Am obese. Have lost a stone. I’d also like to join.

I have also been taking collagen for most of the 8 weeks but am questioning if this has caused eczema on my eyelids.

Im disabled and have chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia btw. We are en route for holiday. I’ll spend a lot of time at the house but I have increased energy levels over the past few months thanks to some remedies I’m taking. I must keep the eating up!

The place has a gym, haven’t seen it yet but I think I’m well enough to go on the exercise machines(s) slowly for a few minutes. This is actually really exciting for me!

I had mum eyebrows dyed the other day and I’m going to get dd to help me fake tan so will look as nice as possible for this holiday.

We are going to a wedding in September so I want to be as well as possible for that. If I am well enough, the plan is spray tan and teeth whitening. Not sure how much makeup I will be able to wear as I find it really fatiguing and irritating. Hair appointment is booked for the day before as we are travelling after that.

LBB2020 · 05/08/2023 15:49

Happy Weekend all!
I had my eyebrows waxed and tinted in the week and am very happy with them (I get them done every 6 weeks but sometimes they look better than other times!).
Also weighed myself this morning and to my surprise I lost 3lbs during July! Very pleased and has given me a motivation boost. I’ve been to the gym 3 times this week and booked a yoga class for tomorrow, no snacking after dinner and have made more effort with makeup this week (treated myself to a new foundation and concealer I’d wanted for ages). Still need to buy some vitamins and drink lots more water!

@CharlieHadAPigeon you’ve convinced me re brows! I’ll ask around.

I treated myself to some Ouai shampoo and conditioner which my hair loves.

I’m attending an event tomorrow and I’m really not ready or in the mood. I want to tan my legs as wearing a short ish dress but can’t be bothered to do anything!
Any tips for getting myself beautiful by tomorrow? 😂

MontyCCU · 05/08/2023 20:18

Count me in please 😍

For tomorrow: slap on some fake tan tonight, slap on some lipstick in the morning, you’re good to go! (Bear in mind, though, that the whole reason for the thread is I DON’T get it right when going out, so I’m not best placed to give advice…)

I tanned and did a face mask. I’ll leave my nails until after my shower in the morning.

Hi can I join?
You're definitely not the oldest mum at the school gates, because that'll be me age 50 with a 5 year old!
I'm recommending diet if you need to, low carb, low sugar and no alcohol. Lots of probiotic yoghurt and nuts. I'm not a runner but walking is a great exercise, 20 mins a day brisk walking tones up your legs. Get some light weights and do bicep curls and bingo wing firming exercises whilst you wait for the kettle to boil.
I use cerave oil to foam cleansing wash and cerave moisturizer and it's transformed my skin.
Get your eyebrows tinted and shaped and LVL lashes if you can afford.
A tanning cream for the bod for a golden glow.
Go through your wardrobe and find your key pieces and then invest in a nice coat for autumn winter. Use Pinterest to make style boards and put outfits together.
What's your hair like? A few face framing highlights or a nice semi colour for shine. I use a hair oil on mine for shine.
Wear lipstick and perfume and leave a nice waft of scent behind you.
You can do a lot in 6 weeks, little changes add up.
I'm a work in progress fighting to look 10 years younger😆
