"Made in Italy" clothes

I've only just discovered this brand and love it! I've bought 6 tops, all loose cotton in lovely colours. Two are patterned and the others are plain. Cost me a total of £72 and that's my summer wardrobe sorted 🙂

They also wash well, haven't shrunk and don't need ironing if hung up straight away.

There is always a stall selling this kind of clothes at the local market all over Italy. The clothes always look very comfortable and they are generally made of linen or cotton gauze.😀

Elsie's Attic website is all made in italy OP

Garden centres often have a LG Made in Italy clothing section.

There are stalls selling similar things at my local markets here in the UK, too! Though I live in an area with a sizeable Italian population.

I found this brand via Mumsnet a while ago and have got some fab linen and cotton summer clothes over the last couple of years.
They dye well too, as a rule. I have just changed a blue and white tie dye dress into a deep purple with lighter violet swirls.

How does the sizing work? Because it says fits 14-20. Does that mean it’s really baggy on a size 14?
They look really nice though - I really want to order the mink colour one and the petrol blue.

I've got a cord dress in this size. I am a size 16, and it's massive!

Make sense. How can they sell a top fot £10 with all the cost and a small profit to keep the business running?

musixa · 06/07/2023 22:09

I like these - great for summer. I have 4 linen dresses.

MysteryBelle · 07/07/2023 02:04

I love the top and the colors it comes in, especially the lighter ones. Looks airy and floaty and the cotton/line fabric is my favorite.

And is why northern Italy had a big problem with Covid at the start of the pandemic. There were a lot of people travelling between there and China.

'Made in Italy' makes people think it's going to be stylish, good quality and made by workers paid properly and treated well but in reality it's just the same as Shein etc.

RainRains · 07/07/2023 06:17

As I work in a hospital, these tops are a little too much scrubs like to me, especially the blue ones! 🙈

Northernsoullover · 07/07/2023 06:19

I buy a lot if it because I can only wear cotton.

Thanks for the info. Another brand I won’t buy then. Wondered how they could be so cheap if EU made.

musixa · 07/07/2023 08:43

Mine are second hand - first was from a charity shop then I sought out more on eBay because I liked it. I never worry about the ethics/sustainability of the original garment if I am buying second hand.

NeedWineNow · 07/07/2023 09:10

I've got several pieces from this brand - a couple of our local independents stock it as well as our market. I really like it. Inexpensive and washes well.

I have some of the dresses for wearing around the house/garden. Most are big enough to change under on the beach, some are not. I find the size of the same style varies, some are a decent fit whereas some are huge. I like them because they are cool.

If you want loose, look for the sack dresses/balloon dresses. They are very big from the chest down. I have a couple that are almost shift style. All have pockets.

The first post on this thread is odd. It reads like an over enthusiastic marketing bot although the poster has a posting history.

The tops linked to are dull in shape and colour and are at the very bottom end of supermarket clothing.

Marezydotes · 07/07/2023 11:47

Natasha - the reason it sounds like a marketing post may be because it links to an item 'featured on Mumsnet' which 'earns commission'. Curious eh? 🤔

That's interesting. I reported it as spam, but no wonder it's still around.
