I've only just discovered this brand and love it! I've bought 6 tops, all loose cotton in lovely colours. Two are patterned and the others are plain. Cost me a total of £72 and that's my summer wardrobe sorted 🙂

They also wash well, haven't shrunk and don't need ironing if hung up straight away.

Mercurial Ive just had a quick browse on the Swears By page and can't see it featured there ... I wonder where it's featured...

Jemimapuddleduk · 07/07/2023 12:15

I had one skirt from made in Italy and it didn’t even last for my fortnight holiday. Really poor, flimsy fabric.

AnxiousBanxious · 07/07/2023 13:17

Our garden centre is also full of this crap. Which they can't sell off

Zarah123 · 07/07/2023 13:29

Tesco has lots of soft, confortable, 100% cotton clothing. I've bought my summer wardrobe from there.

amylou8 · 07/07/2023 15:31

I've just discovered their tops. I'm an 18/20 and the cotton 3/4 sleeve style are a loose but not too baggy fit on me. Have picked up a few for practically nothing on Vinted and they're now my summer uniform with a pair of cropped trousers.

PrimaniTu · 07/07/2023 17:29

I thought this was Style and Beauty. There's nothing stylish about those shapeless tee shirts.

Who on earth would gush over such things? Unless you were being paid to of course.

I'm very suspicious of this thread. Those tops are just awful- on all levels. I called them "the very bottom end of supermarket clothes" but that's insulting to Tu, George at Asda and Florence and Fred.

Florence and Fred cotton top

This for example is much nicer and a more realistic price.

Exactly! They have some lovely stuff.

How many times have you washed them if you only just discovered them? I would need a dozen or more washes to say they are good quality.

How does the sizing work? Because it says fits 14-20. Does that mean it’s really baggy on a size 14?
They look really nice though - I really want to order the mink colour one and the petrol blue.

IMO these "one size" clothes really only look good on a size 16. I'm a 12 and the necks are way too big, and they drown me.

WimbledonBallGirl · 07/07/2023 20:15

I buy the linen and dye it, I’ve got some beautiful outfits

Traceyislivid · 07/07/2023 20:19

Kit and kaboodle

JoeLovesGina · 07/07/2023 20:38

Well thanks for dissing my summer wardrobe.

I've no connection to the company, just thought I'd pass on some good information.

Sorry I bothered.

Natasha - the reason it sounds like a marketing post may be because it links to an item 'featured on Mumsnet' which 'earns commission'. Curious eh? 🤔

Mumsnet adds an affiliate addendum to any Amazon url that is put on the site. It’s nothing to do with OP. It’s just one of the ways MN makes money. Try it yourself with a random link and you will see.

OP I think they look nice. Isn’t it great to find something you love!

NatashaDancing · 07/07/2023 20:55

The OP said this about Shein in another thread

They have terrible working conditions, make horrible cheap polyester clothes and their customer service is appalling.

Avoid at all costs.

"Made in Italy" seem to be the equal of Shein so far as working conditions but at least are honest about being Chinese based.

Everyone’s tastes are different. I love cool but long sleeved cowl neck tops, I’m sure they’re not everyone’s cup of tea.

porridgeisbae · 08/07/2023 00:52

I had one from a charity shop and it was lovely in the hot weather.

But the ones on the website are even more shapeless.

MotherofGorgons · 08/07/2023 01:26

I dont like one size fits all. They usually only fit people at the top end of the scale. But I don't like that F and F top either.

Why do grown women have to dress like cake tiers?

stevalnamechanger · 08/07/2023 01:46

NatashaDancing · 07/07/2023 11:19

The first post on this thread is odd. It reads like an over enthusiastic marketing bot although the poster has a posting history.

The tops linked to are dull in shape and colour and are at the very bottom end of supermarket clothing.

Hardly , they aren't polyester!

JoeLovesGina · 08/07/2023 08:21

Well in my defence I had no idea about the sweat shops being run in Italy.

Because they're very simple and lightweight I assumed they'd be very cheap to produce, even in Europe.

I've decided not to buy any more but will buy fabric and copy the pattern and make them myself in future.

Sorry for the grumpy post last night, wasn't feeling well.

MrsMarzetti · 08/07/2023 08:39

I bought 2 of their dresses and 3 tops a few years ago, all have washed well many many times. The dresses were a god send during the heatwave. As for those complaining about credentials of the company, don't lecture if you have a mobile phone or diamonds.

Flopsythebunny · 08/07/2023 08:46

Caramelatt · 06/07/2023 22:08

Make sense. How can they sell a top fot £10 with all the cost and a small profit to keep the business running?

Because they are made in sweat shops

RampantIvy · 08/07/2023 09:13

How many clothing brands are not made in sweatshops these days?
I'm not advocating that we support this practice, but I'm willing to bet that a lot of household name brand clothes were also produced in sweatshops.
