I’m very happy with my A line cotton linen skirt in Breen. It’s high waisted, comfortable and flattering for my ‘pear shape.’ Perfect length. Beautiful colour - will also work well for winter and transitional months . I’m 5 ft 7/8

Architektin · 04/07/2023 14:11

@Countmeout Yes, exactly. I actually will order a few things from the new season, I really liked the herringbone jacket for example, but I also hope they realised everyone has a choice and I just personally prefer non crumples/crinkles, for various reasons!

Pretty colours though, interested to see how the theme develops.

Architektin · 04/07/2023 14:16

@Noodle421 I wish I'd bought that! The Breen is a lovely colour. I'm considering the Shell colour.. is the fabric quite light or a bit sturdier?

I think it might be a bit knackered - I saw a bit and it kept stopping and starting and then it stopped altogether

It did this to me too. I thought it was my connection. It was very annoying.

MiracleToast · 04/07/2023 14:32

Lol imagine if they created crinkled clothing just to counteract the creased conundrum 😂

neveradullmoment99 · 04/07/2023 14:40

mmm...not sure about much of the new stuff. Liked the shape of the dress, dislike the stripes, didn't like the jacket trouser combo. She looked masculine. Not sure about the flare jeans. Don't like the clown collar. Didn't like the cream trousers and vest Nikki was wearing.

Architektin · 04/07/2023 14:40

@MiracleToast 😂😂Brilliant.
Maybe that's their new season tactic.
So funny.

I managed to ask a question before it disappeared.

About ironing crinkles and crumples out if they didn't appeal or fit lifestyle.
They said that they'll be showing how to do that on their Instagram page, however, if just washed, and not maintained by twisting and drying, then over time the crumples would naturally disappear.

My most-worn Toast dress is from 2020 (this one with the gingham double gauze lining) and it most certainly is still as crumply as the day it arrived despite my never bothering to twist (I just bung it on a machine delicates wash and line dry). Perhaps because all my 'crinkle' Toast stuff involves double gauze in some way I can't think of any kind of treatment that would remove the inherent wrinkliness from them?

Toast midnight navy crinkled cotton midi dress

Fabulous utilitarian dress from Toast. It's an XS but is intentionally voluminous. Would fit a UK8 - UK10. Midi in length. Cotton Excellent condition Retail price: £185

faustina · 04/07/2023 14:46

@MiracleToast - hah! But the Toast creases will be considered creases - not slept on a bench ones 😀

@Brillenbar47 - thanks. I am never sure about trusting Toast measurements - how come, for instance, the model is 5'10 and they appear to be the exact same length that you (8" shorter!) have said they are on you?

Architektin · 04/07/2023 14:56

@clowniform I have that dress and a similar one, double cotton gauze, a lovely fabric. I think it's the texture of both that I love, so easy to wash as you say and I can getaway with them both at work, which is formal but creative. . but not the crumpled cottons, that's a bridge too far.. and my work is my joy 😀so I don't want to feel uncomfortable there.

Hi,

I know we are ‘over’ the sale, 🤣 but Toast have done a bit of a restock of returns just now.

I have ordered two of the linen dresses I missed out on at the beginning of the sale, plus trying again with those cotton diamond trousers, (in a smaller size!)

neveradullmoment99 · 04/07/2023 15:26

Just had a look and the panelled linen trousers are reduced to £75! The ones I purchased due tomorrow are £120. Makes no sense. They are the coffee colour. Both on the website but a huge price difference. Same pictures. Weird. I have used the chat function to ask why. They said they would email me. I reckon the cheap ones are perhaps old stock.

neveradullmoment99 · 04/07/2023 15:27

So now i have two pairs of the same trousers coming. Ridiculous.

neveradullmoment99 · 04/07/2023 15:28

Im actually drained from ordering and returning stuff.

Which dresses?
Did you manage to get the landscape one or was that not on the restock?

Dee1224 · 04/07/2023 15:35

Hi, @neveradullmoment99 - the dhal linen and the ‘old stock’ linen. Landscape not back 🙃.

I am regretting sending back the blue sail stripe for which they offered a discount. Would order again, but I think I would probably get ‘mine’ back again!

neveradullmoment99 · 04/07/2023 16:18

Did you get the Dhal linen dress? Oh that is a lovely dress.

faustina · 04/07/2023 16:26

@neveradullmoment99 - I think the cheap ones are REALLY old. I ordered the oat coloured pair for the same price in my first order and the actual label on them was 'pull on linen trousers' not the nicer panelled ones which I'd been expecting (and which it said they were on the website). Old as in I'd ordered the very same pair in a JL sale during the pandemic and sent them back as too thin and too huge. It was quite annoying!

Thanks for that. I remember ordering mediums in the JL sale to in navy. They were absolutely huge. So maybe that's why. They really should make it clear that it is old stock and stop using the same pictures.

neveradullmoment99 · 04/07/2023 16:32

Well I have both coming. I am sure you are most likely right. So they will be going back.

Dee1224 · 04/07/2023 16:33

Yes, that’s the one@neveradullmoment99 It will probably be too small but who knows?

Meanwhile, I will have to chase Toast up tomorrow for refunds - they owe me for two huge orders and I really shouldn’t have ordered more until that money was back!

neveradullmoment99 · 04/07/2023 16:33

I returned all my stuff on the 1st July. Got my refunds through today.

neveradullmoment99 · 04/07/2023 16:34

I was able to track that they had been returned by the label that I printed out. No use if you have done paperless.

neveradullmoment99 · 04/07/2023 16:35

I didn't even realise that the printable label had a trackable link. Worth printing a postage label just for that reassurance.

neveradullmoment99 · 04/07/2023 16:36

Mind you, you should be able to track your return with your receipt.
