Hello Toasties I am a long time lurker and have very much enjoyed every one's sales chat and inspiration and it has helped me look at things I might not have otherwise. I have ordered sooo much and sent back soooo much this sale partially for sizing partially for fabrics and partially just working out what I like.

In case anyone is interested what I have kept are:

  • Mariner trousers and jacket in navy hemp (in favour of the POW check - chosen because more versatile and the jacket is shorter - I am 5'2" so that works better)
  • parchment drawstring cotton linen trousers - I ordered basically every pair of pale trousers and these were my favourite which was a big suprise
  • blue stripe sale dress - just such a fab colour
  • brown and cream cotton check dress - I would never have looked at this without this thread it is elegant for super hot days so thank you!
  • black navy v neck t

I am now trying the navy linen shorts in third size (!) And waiting for my last random order of things to try. Things I have sent back are so so many - probably up to 11 parcels returned... Is the normal behaviour? :)

I’m surprised as usually there is ‘final reductions’ @Alpacasoft

Yes—cant pop the usual block of soap on the order for a kindred gift! Maybe this is an additional gift and a surprise kindred will show up at some point too…

Perhaps will go down again?
The email was Toast Kindred but looking at the T&C it says all qualifying orders from 6th July, specifically not sale so might linger on a bit.
I really would prefer socks or another toast scarf.

OftenOrange · 04/07/2023 11:13

Totally underwhelming gift , I haven’t finished with the sale yet , just ordered 2 pairs cotton cashmere socks and the pistachio Emma t shirt.
Coming to UK tomorrow and there are 5 Toast parcels to open , pretty sure the jumpsuits will be too big as I didn’t research reviews properly .
Hoping my local store will accept returns…..
The rest includes Maya in light gold , Padded cord jacket in Pebble , the floaty blue Japanese dress , and sundry. tops and trousers.

OftenOrange · 04/07/2023 11:24

Has anyone had success with the Oat Check jumpsuit , the one that’s supposed to be a struggle to get in and out of?
I ordered an XS and am usually an 8 and S ; I was wondering if it could be altered to make a longer opening , I love the look of it on the model.

Architektin · 04/07/2023 11:29

Hi @Brillenbar47 Yes, perfectly normal Toastie behaviour!

I sent back loads/reordered too.
Not surprising really with the varying discrepancies in sizes 😅
I loved the Mariner items too, and kept all of those, classics that will last a good while.

Architektin · 04/07/2023 11:41

@Countmeout Yes, I'll be watching in my lunch break, looking forward to it.

I have a chest too and often ponder the minimiser bra options to fit in to more lovely Toastie stuff, and the 'smocks' which sound in theory so crafty, artisan and clever, but in my reality not so much.
🤔😂😅

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 04/07/2023 11:43

2 of my parcels arrived.
The Check shirt is a lovely material and I like the colours but I just can’t get the collar to work for me, I’ve ironed it in several ways but the collar always pops up somewhere and looks ridiculous. Will be returning.

The Shorts in copper look best in a large, which is exactly the same size as my medium space check from last year. However I think they look a bit 'tired' already so I’m not sure whether I want to keep them.

Socks are great but they’re just extras of ones I’ve already got.

@ToastCosILoveIt I’ve got the drawstring collar dress which arrived today, I did order at the beginning of the sale but sent it back, then reordered at the reduced price. I really like it, it’s longer on me than on the models as I’m 5' 4” and I prefer that length.
I think it’s quite understated, and nowhere near worth it’s original price, but something I will wear a lot. I guess it really depends on what you want, I’ve got a lot of dresses in this colour, but they’re my go to in autumn and spring, and in winter with a thermal tee, tights and boots.

Countmeout · 04/07/2023 08:54

That dress looks great @Saurus72 .

Looking at my new season saves so far

Fayre top https://www.toa.st/collections/womens-new-collection/products/fayre-stripe-organic-poplin-smock-celtic-blue although the word smock is putting fear in my heart with my chest size.
Fayre dress https://www.toa.st/collections/womens-new-collection/products/fayre-stripe-organic-poplin-shirt-dress-celtic-blue
these socks
https://www.toa.st/collections/womens-new-collection/products/grid-stitch-textured-socks-lime-olive
This cardigan I’ve decided I have a hole in my wardrobe for a cardigan https://www.toa.st/collections/womens-new-collection/products/wool-cashmere-raglan-cardigan-olive-melange

not rushing to get anything. The only thing I’m likely to buy full price is the smock (dear lord please don’t let it actually be a smock)

meanwhile my I lost control of my finger at about 5am and have ordered the gingham seersucker dress which popped up in what might be my size. I still think it’s too like the alder but I think I like the shape. It was all the cats fault.

Any kindred people planning on watching the video today?

Is it on today? When I look it says the 12th July but I do remember thinking it was earlier!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 04/07/2023 12:32

1 o’clock today for Kindred members @neveradullmoment99

faustina · 04/07/2023 12:35

It's today @neveradullmoment99 - they just sent me a reminder

@Brillenbar47 - I quite liked those parchment trousers but as I'm 5'4 I thought they'd be too long and swampy on me. Would you mind telling me your height and how they are for you?

I got a reply from toast about my irate email yesterday with pics of the slept in trousers, and complaint about the 'new' sizing. They just said they were sorry about the trousers and would tell the packing people, and that if I ask them they can tell me the measurements of each item. I'm off tory on the v neck tee again now

I've ordered the shell cotton linen side tab trousers and the breen tapered workwear ones to try. Does anyone have either?

faustina · 04/07/2023 12:36

off to try on the v neck

Nanasueathome · 04/07/2023 12:41

I’m still being really good and haven’t ordered anything in this sale

neveradullmoment99 · 04/07/2023 12:43

They sound really concerned @faustina Not really good enough!
What time is the Toast live at? Would like to watch. I don't see it on the live events.

faustina · 04/07/2023 12:50

It's kindred - you must be kindred @neveradullmoment99 ? You can pre-register and go in a draw to win a voucher

faustina · 04/07/2023 12:52

the v neck is going back too. I am being super fussy about clothes at the moment to try to reduce the amount of things I buy and don't wear, and It's just not quite right somehow

dudsville · 04/07/2023 12:57

Hi @Brillenbar47 , I've sent sooooo many things back!

I received a delivery of 3 different jackets yesterday. All going back as they don't suit me, but they arrived nearly packed and in good condition. Tomorrow I'll get my last delivery ... oossibly? Someone on the last thread spoke highly of the fair isle with the blue yolk, so I'm trying that because what i really don't need is now knitwear. And since i already know that sweater vests don't suit me i though i might as well confirm that by trying the striped one.

I am kindred but didn't see the email. Not surprising as I get loads.

MiracleToast · 04/07/2023 13:26

I got the email but just got a starting soon page

faustina · 04/07/2023 13:26

you can only access it by following the link on the email, but if you can find it, I think you can watch the recorded version.

faustina · 04/07/2023 13:27

I think it might be a bit knackered - I saw a bit and it kept stopping and starting and then it stopped altogether

Architektin · 04/07/2023 13:39

Yes, tried to watch but kept cutting out. Will wait for it to be featured on the website live events recordings.

MiracleToast · 04/07/2023 13:44

Okay thanks not just me then

Architektin · 04/07/2023 13:45

I managed to ask a question before it disappeared.

About ironing crinkles and crumples out if they didn't appeal or fit lifestyle.
They said that they'll be showing how to do that on their Instagram page, however, if just washed, and not maintained by twisting and drying, then over time the crumples would naturally disappear.

Countmeout · 04/07/2023 13:55

I missed the start but the recording stopping and starting for me too. Will try and get right through it later. I got the start and the end.
Also your question re the crinkles. I felt like saying when she said they like it, well you may like it but we don’t 😕
Lot talk of crumpling. Does that mean we can’t moan about the state things arrive in? Crumpling was mentioned about the Fayre stuff.

That scenery print dress has reminded me of something since I saw it, finally dawned on me I had a Boden top in similar colours and splodges in my Boden phase. I actually liked it when it was loose on the model.

Brillenbar47 · 04/07/2023 13:56

@faustina the parchment trousers - I am 5 ft 2 and they are full length on me fine with completely flat sandals or birkies or even a small heal. The fabric is heavy and not see through. I would generally have 28inch inside leg for long trousers, or 25-6 for ankle crop

Why is it that toast give an outside leg measurement? How is that helpful? :)
