This jumper Y or N?

Live abroad, struggle with winter bits and looking for a couple nice knits that I can wear at the weekend.
For context winters are short and warm in the day low 20's but mornings/evenings are cool and lots of places are outdoors. So I don't want to spend lots / buy lots.
I have a couple of nice leather skirts that I could wear it with. Generally wardrobe is pretty basic / classic.

Thoughts?

Sorry it’s N from me. Those sparkly bits… nope.

(Also, not wanting to be more of a dick than strictly necessary, but isn’t Shein maybe not the most ethical brand?)

SuspiciousDuck · 02/07/2023 06:21

(Ok, I am officially a dick. It’s Sheike not Shein - apologies.)

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 02/07/2023 06:23

It looks good, crystal button sounds nice for night. Is the fabric content OK for you? Not enough natural fibre for me personally, but that just might be because I get hot, and find acrylic too much. May not wash great for similar reasons.

SD1978 · 02/07/2023 06:24

I'm sorry - I really don't like it. Peach and old looking. I can't see much that would improve it for me!

MrsSkylerWhite · 02/07/2023 06:27

Not for me. Doesn’t matter what I think though, if you like it, buy it.

Fooshufflewickjbannanapants · 02/07/2023 06:31

Looks too short to keep your kidneys warm, tbh peach is a bit uncool 80's to me ( literally was me)

EmeraldFox · 02/07/2023 06:33

No, it looks much cheaper than it is and it's mostly acrylic.

EmeraldFox · 02/07/2023 06:36

Uniqlo have some nice knits for much less, or 100% cashmere for little more than that.

veryfluffyfluff · 02/07/2023 06:37

I like it worn the cardi way round

MissChanandlerB0NG · 02/07/2023 06:38

It's not a bad jumper. But for the price, I would look elsewhere!

YukoandHiro · 02/07/2023 06:39

No it's not for me - it's both the shape and the random diamanté that are off putting

OrchidsBlooming · 02/07/2023 06:40

No from me
I use to live in a similar climate. I found cardigans much more versatile especially with a cami or top underneath to deal with varying temperatures. Uniqlo do basic but good quality, both jumpers and cardigans that would look good with leather skirts. American Vintage are also worth a look espresso in sales.

isthismylifenow · 02/07/2023 06:47

I am in the same climate as you OP, but I don't think this is a good buy.

It's mainly acrylic. I think it's selling point is the bling and that it can be worn two ways.

Have you thought about how you would wear it, with what outfits and how many times you think you would wear it. Try to work out cost per wear.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 02/07/2023 07:15

Nope.

WhatWillIWear · 02/07/2023 07:22

Not sure it’s helpful to seek advice from posters mostly living in a northern climate, for whom a decent jumper would be 100% wool.

Also fashion here leans strongly in favour of the casual at the moment - so the cardigan you’ve linked seems a little alien to current tastes. But it might suit the way of dressing of your location.

AnnunciataZ · 02/07/2023 07:29

Looks like it was last worn by Kath on a trip to Fountain Lakes shopping centre.

SpringIntoChaos · 02/07/2023 07:31

It twee for me, sorry OP.

SpringIntoChaos · 02/07/2023 07:31
  • Bit twee

I lived in a similar climate. I would no way pay that for an acrylic jumper, that and the sparkly look means I'd expect it to be much cheaper. I would buy cotton for much less, but I would only pay that kind of money for wool or cashmere.

TheSeaDoesntKnowMyName · 02/07/2023 07:38

Not for 150, looks very cheap

BCBird · 02/07/2023 07:39

No from.me. agree it's short. Perhaps a nice V neck with a necklace?

EmeraldFox · 02/07/2023 07:39

Also in the UK when it is 20 in the day and cooler in the evening I would take a light wool jumper to go out.

BCBird · 02/07/2023 07:39

Bright pink or something?

bridgetreilly · 02/07/2023 08:33

That is massively overpriced.

NetZeroZealot · 02/07/2023 08:59

It's hideous.

Buy yourself some nice cashmere instead. Light and warm.
