Live abroad, struggle with winter bits and looking for a couple nice knits that I can wear at the weekend.
For context winters are short and warm in the day low 20's but mornings/evenings are cool and lots of places are outdoors. So I don't want to spend lots / buy lots.
I have a couple of nice leather skirts that I could wear it with. Generally wardrobe is pretty basic / classic.

No from me. The length is really unflattering IMO, and the colour is a bit bleurgghh. I hadn’t even noticed the price until I read it in the replies here. You can get something much nicer for the money.

It's certainly not my taste. I'd say it's horrendous.

SummerSun04 · 02/07/2023 22:34

I like peach-colored things (more cushions and flowers than clothing), but stick-on gem clothing isn't my taste as an adult.

Saying that, I have a few sentimental bits of odd clothing that others would hate, and think if you really love something you should get it.

OP, thought I would just pop back to this post, after my little excursion out today.

I have to be honest and say that I don't go into shopping malls very often (now that my dd has left home, its hardly ever...) as I usually just thrift or make use of what I have. So I am a little of out the loop as to what is in right now.

I am in SA so also mid winter here. I went to look for something in particular today, and this style of top is also here in the shops. So many jumpers / sweaters with this charm and bling type design on.

I always thought we were a season behind Europe, but I think now we may be a season ahead.....

So for those in UK/EU, its is very possible you may be seeing more of this style in stores fairly soon when your new winter stock comes in.

Unless we just have the same type of fashion as Australia, which is very possible as we do have a quite a few Australian brands here.

The whole website has had a style bypass.

Buy cashmere with the money, it is timeless ( and warm).

on the other side of the world, these are all half price right now and would work well too - some nice cream ones (if they post to you?)

I'll be honest, I bought it and I love it!
Will post a picture tomorrow, I'm planning to wear it to a dinner.
I have loads of basic knits from Uniqlo and wanted to move away from that style. I'm pleased my style is so awful in a funny kind of way 🤣

The most important thing is that you love it! 😁

Do post a photo. It would be great to see it in action!

I get what you mean about being pleased. I have dresses which posters were falling over themselves to tell me were terrible but in real life collect compliments from all sorts of people and ages, who have no particular obligation to pay me compliments.

I've also just bought a pair of sneakers which I know would be condemned by posters who care which brand of trainers are currently cool, which added to their attraction.

Lol @Hop27. Good move.

TBH, I see a lot of very expensive dresses posted on S and B, many of which I absolutely hate. Usually, it's the Bathsheva ones. Way too frilly and girly for me. But then other people would think I dress like I am in a cult.

Dress for yourself, really.

I dislike many of the suggestions on wedding guest dress threads and black tie dress threads; Nancy Mac, Bombshell, Roman , SilkFred and anything made of polyester in particular.
