Live abroad, struggle with winter bits and looking for a couple nice knits that I can wear at the weekend.
For context winters are short and warm in the day low 20's but mornings/evenings are cool and lots of places are outdoors. So I don't want to spend lots / buy lots.
I have a couple of nice leather skirts that I could wear it with. Generally wardrobe is pretty basic / classic.

In those temperatures, I’d go for cotton, silk or cashmere. You have the budget to get something lovely and natural. White Company do really lovely, extremely lightweight, cashmere jumpers and although I rarely buy from there as I think they’re overpriced, these are worth it.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 02/07/2023 09:18

I think it could work as a cardigan and a long, flowy grey skirt in the Ballerina look if you like that sort of thing, and peach is bound to be making a comeback somewhere, as it's been resolutely out of fashion for a long time (is anybody doing peach living rooms or bathrooms yet? It's the usual trend after dark and intense interiors to go pastel) - but with a leather skirt, it makes me think more of an Office Manager who isn't keen on the air conditioning first thing.

Theoldgreygoose · 02/07/2023 09:26

It's not to my taste, but then I would rather wear merino or cotton. If you like it then buy it, life's too short to worry about the opinions of others.

Sunshineamong · 02/07/2023 09:36

I always look at the fabric content when buying knitwear. This is a very expensive acrylic jumper, with a small % of wool. This won’t last and will look cheap after a few washes.

I’d definitely look elsewhere for a better quality fabric such as cashmere, which is great at helping regulating body temperature much better than synthetics. Good quality fabric will stand the rest of time if looked after/washed in appropriate detergent.

I actually quite like the style myself… but wear what you like not what everyone else thinks looks good.

Looks like it was last worn by Kath on a trip to Fountain Lakes shopping centre.

😁

EmeraldFox · 02/07/2023 09:42

The trouble with acrylic too is that it needs washing more often than wool. If you get a bit hot or stressed and sweat then it's not breathable or anti odour like wool is. Wool or cashmere lasts a long time as it only needs an occasional wash when worn over a cotton top.

This is more what I would think but not say, but yes 😈

I love the patterned knit but the sewn-on charms look tacky and would be a nightmare to wash/get snagged on stuff.

But it depends where you are living. Some countries have much blingier fashion than others. If it fits in with your style and the fashion around you, why not? No point in choosing chunky farmhouse knitwear loved in UK if you mix with a glamorous set in Italy or Dubai.

sonjadog · 02/07/2023 10:08

Fashions are different in different countries so it might be just the right thing for where you live. From the comments, you can probably tell it wouldn't be in fashion in the UK! See if women around where you live are wearing similar items and judge from that, unless you particularly want to look like you are from the UK...

I wouldn't buy it myself because I don't do sparkly clothing. The length would also put me off because I find that that length really highlights my tummy bulging out underneath. If you don't have a flat tummy, that might be something to consider?

I don't think anyone is suggesting this, more a lightweight merino or cashmere knit.

Mugaloaf · 02/07/2023 10:21

It's a no from me, but buy it if you like it.

Is it priced in Australian $?

EmeraldFox · 02/07/2023 10:26

It's a .com.au address so would be 150AUD, 79GBP

Viviennemary · 02/07/2023 10:34

Its very expensive and looks like its been shrunk in the wash. I quite like the colour and design though probably wouldnt wear it myself.

Confused19831983 · 02/07/2023 10:34

Contrary to other posters I love this. It's elegant and perfect for the evening if a little chilly and you are outdoors. I also really like the cardigan / jumper aspect. Cut looks flattering and glamorous. It's not the kind of thing you'd wear to the pub in the north of England. But can totally imagine wearing this abroad. If you love it, buy it ❤️

Maves · 02/07/2023 10:38

I thought it said SHEIN too how strange that the name is similar and the logo the same? Lovely jumper without the sparkly shit tho

ShakeYourFeathers · 02/07/2023 10:41

It's a no from me... it doesn't pass the red wine test for me. Also not keen on the sparkly bits. However in the run up to Christmas when you want a nod to a Christmas jumper I would consider wearing it

Christmas in July maybe. It will be too hot at Christmas.

Anyfeckinusername · 02/07/2023 10:46

I don't like it at all. It's a bad colour and a bad shape! It is slightly boxy up one eh shoulders.

It is reminding me of those cardigans knitted for newborn babies by old ladies.

escript · 02/07/2023 10:46

It looks like they've decorated it themselves with diamantés and gem tac.

Really don't like it.

Lentilweaver · 02/07/2023 10:49

Absolutely no.

diddl · 02/07/2023 10:50

I quite like it as a cardigan for Christmas.

Pricey though.

I'm also nearly 60 & not known for having style!

ShanghaiDiva · 02/07/2023 10:53

looks cheap because of the sparkly bits.
uniqlo worth a look imo.

AlexTfan · 02/07/2023 10:57

Nope.

GreenMini · 02/07/2023 10:58

I don't like it - but I don't like in the same country as you.... perhaps it's more on trend in eg. the Arab world
