Love love love Delphine and the splash of colour and snazzy shoes 😄 Princess Elisabeth is a style icon in the making, and I'm here for it! Younger sister Eleanore also looking fabulous... the future is bright in the Belgian royal fashion stakes ☺️

Also spotted a pic of Charlene wearing some serious bling recently while out with Albert at a yacht shindig. Can't find a better pic... can anyone ID the necklace and earrings?

Love those colours...but the stilettos on cobbles, yikes! Love Charlene's bling.

Like you and others, I think the the colours are lovely and vibrant. The pattern though?

eeeee.

KillingMeDeftly · 22/07/2023 10:04

I really like Eleanore's dress too. She resembles Mathilde but Elisabeth has a strong look of Queen Paola about her.

Now I know why Albert's jacket the other day was so ill-fitting. Clearly he borrowed it from the MC in the photo! I must admit to being intrigued by what the relationship is really like between him and Charlene. Is it a case of "do what you like but maintain appearances in public"?

Maireas · 22/07/2023 10:05

Who knows, @KillingMeDeftly . Sometimes people reach a compromise which suits both. There are two little children involved, so I'm glad she's better and back at home.

Thank you! I need me a Scots dictionary.

Agree @Maireas, Charlene does look happier these days than she did before the twins and Albert seems jovial and an involved dad. There was quite an endearing photo of him with the twins at Christmas a few years ago where he was wearing a Christmas jumper and Crocs(!) and he just looked like anyone's slightly cheesy dad!

Maireas · 22/07/2023 10:13

Yes, and I saw another film of him recently with the children and he does seem like a caring and hands on dad. I remember the jumper and Crocs - didn't it inspire a thread title?

Love it! Bring on the cheesy.

I admire people like Delphine, who even when they’re in the public aren’t bothered by wanting to blend in with safe clothing and wear what they like. (I include Sarah Ferguson in that, who never met a military styled outfit she didn’t like!) I may never chose to emulate their looks, but I’m glad to see them doing their own thing.

What a lovely photo of Mathilde and her two daughters! I’m glad the younger daughter wore gold, not black, but they look very striking together. 😀

Maireas · 22/07/2023 11:21

I agree with you about Delphine, @Serenster - it's always nice to see people having fun with fashion and trying different looks.

I've just seen someone on IG call
Delphine the Fergie of Belgium and they're not wrong!

Maireas · 22/07/2023 11:24

True! 😊

Princess Laurentian of the Netherlands is another I’d add to the list 😀

KillingMeDeftly · 22/07/2023 11:31

Yes, Laurentien can be quite the whacky dresser and that's saying something considering who her SiL is! And let's not forget her other SiL Mabel and her love of bows...

Maireas · 22/07/2023 11:33

Ah. Got to love Mabel of The Bows.

I really enjoyed seeing Princess Elisabeth going for it with her big hat. Really nice to see people experimenting with fashion/different looks and enjoying it.

justasking111 · 22/07/2023 12:56

What a pretty dress

LadyEloise1 · 22/07/2023 15:37

It looks nicer on Elenore than in the advertisement.
The advertisement and photo highlight a wee bugbear of mine - how the colour in the photo advertisement is sooo different to the actual colour of the garment.
M&S is particularly bad at this - the in store posters are "way off" colourwise to the actual garment. Sack the photographer- they should be able to get it right, we've sent people up to space fgs.

KillingMeDeftly · 22/07/2023 15:42

There's lots of reasons the colour may look different and not all down to the photographer! Lighting for example, or screen resolution.

justasking111 · 22/07/2023 17:17

I'm loving this
