Afternoon, a new thread and thanks to @ArcaneWireless for the great title! On we go!

The Green Beetle Tiara has caused me to stumble again (hurrah!) on a necklace so bizarre that I was beginning to believe that I'd dreamt it. Actually, my mistake was rummaging in the V&A jewellery collections and not the British Museum. What I don't think the page makes clear is that they are REAL hummingbirds' heads.

I really didn't like the POW's green dress today. I wish she'd wear something pretty and summery for such a summer event. I liked Charlotte's dress and hair a lot.

Squeakydinosaur, there is a whole channel here that does nothing but the UK Antiques roadshow all day long (I'm addicted). A woman brought in a whole cache of those hummingbird/beetle jewelery. It was pretty horrific.

The yellow Dolce e Gabbana dress she wore about 4 years ago remains my favourite Kate at Wimbledon look. And the one with the tennis ball print is definitely the most literal she's been!

I quite liked the green dress. I know what you mean about wanting something summery, but I guess because she was presenting the trophies, she wanted something more formal.

Also, I'm thinking she was worried about wind? I'd also have wanted something quite fitted and unlikely to flash the world inappropriately!

POW looked amazing for both finals but I preferred what Annabel Croft was wearing on Saturday and she just seemed to float onto the court at the end.

An interesting thread appeared on my Twitter feed today. It's by a menswear writer who praises Felipe highly for his suits. There are details about men's tailoring that I didn't know.

What an interesting thread. I figured Felipe would have to get bespoke suits given how tall he is but it's fascinating to hear about all the little details.

I just looked up the Roland Mouret dress. It's sold out in every size. I don't know why that makes me feel sad as it's a good £650 over budget and apart from DS1's graduation I don't really have a forthcoming event that I'm dressing up for. I don't the running club Xmas do in the golf club warrants such a dress.

I am tall and slim and look good in green though......

Oh I was also sad to see Filipe is married. Here I am waiting in the wings for my 6'5" Spanish hombre.

I liked the green dress - in fact I think I’ve liked all her Roland Mouret dresses, as far as I recall. It’s not the most summery, but then again neither is the weather right now…

Felipe probably gets his suits handmade in the Spanish equivalent of Saville Row and they probably each cost more than my annual income.
Still luffs him though! ❤

I wonder if Felipe has the charisma his father had?

There's definitely a resemblance to Juan Carlos in some of those photos, such as the wedding one (with the strangely floating crowns!) And the one where Juan Carlos is looking down at baby Felipe.
