It's caught my eye. Not at all my style, I'm told I scrub up OK but I'm generally very ordinarily dressed. Sometimes a short skirt.but pretty modest.

I have and evening wedding do to go to. Lots of people I know there, including one I aim to impress 😆

I'm 53, tall, slim, blonde, but not in the least bit glam. Not much bust. I'd probably wear it with flat sandals.

Am I going to look ridiculous?

Is the blue better?

It’s very glam. I wouldn’t personally wear it as it shows a lot of leg but it depends what it’s like on and also what kind of wedding it is.

Keepitonthelow · 28/06/2023 18:22

If it’s just the evening do and everybody is going to be dressed up it will be fine.

BusySittingDown · 28/06/2023 18:23

You might look like a bridesmaid. The last wedding I went to the dresses were quite similar to that.

Bloodyleaverspartybollocks · 28/06/2023 18:23

It's gorgeous. I'd love to be able to pull it off

At least buy her a drink first!

born2runaway · 28/06/2023 18:51

Definitely dont wear with flat sandals. But if you feel good, go for it

TheOGCCL · 28/06/2023 19:02

Evening only would be ok imo assuming it’s your average wedding. I think it’s more about your confidence as you need some to wear it, will it boost your confidence by wearing it, or make you feel out of sorts/ self conscious? I think people look their best when they seem fully comfortable in what they are wearing.

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 28/06/2023 19:02

It will look odd with flats - and I say that as someone who wears flats 99% of the time. It's not the sort of dress you can dress down. You either need to embrace the full-on glam look or choose another option.

GoodChat · 28/06/2023 19:03

Oh that will look gorgeous if you have a slim figure but not with flats

LlynTegid · 29/06/2023 07:15

I agree with others not a dress to wear with flats.

Whataretheodds · 29/06/2023 07:19

You won't know till you try it on.

It's a bit... obvious?

I think flat sandals could work if they are pretty /delicate - metallic would be my pic.

Yes, that what I had in mind, probably silver with a bit of sparkle

I thought Lipsy was a teen brand, I'm the same age as you and it's not on my radar. If it looks good and makes you feel confident go for it.

RichardsGear · 29/06/2023 07:26

I think the blue is better. The burgundy makes me think of Christmas with the colour and sequins etc.

I've never thought of it as teen, more middle aged trying a bit hard 😆 but no it's certainly not a go to on mine. They have it on Next now, that's where I was looking 😆

I think it looks great and if you've got the figure for it absolutely get it and enjoy being glam.

Borracha · 29/06/2023 07:33

Honestly, it’s a bit dated and naff. I also think it would look odd with flats. It’s a bit ‘cruise trip chic’.

Just my opinion, obviously!

inappropriateraspberry · 29/06/2023 07:33

Something g about it seems quite old fashioned to me, I think it's the top half - the design seems like something the mother of the bride may wear (but not the bottom half!)
Or it's a bit prom dressy/bridesmaidy.

determinedtomakethiswork · 29/06/2023 07:48

If you are trying to attract someone you know you need to appear as yourself, not as someone you will never be again.

icelollycraving · 29/06/2023 07:52

Order it and see what it is like on. Personally not my cup of tea, but I’m a great believer in wearing what makes you happy and confident.

Libraryloiterer · 29/06/2023 07:59

It's very camp, very Jane Mcdonald (and she's a total queen obviously!).. get it on, hair and lippy, quaff back the champs, hold court and flirt outrageously with the object of your desire!! Enjoy.

Madamecastafiore · 29/06/2023 08:04

I think it looks like a dress for someone in their mid fifties. The colour, the fabric, the cut are all quite old fashioned and really weird for a summer wedding and just wouldn't go with flats at all.

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 29/06/2023 08:08

It will look like you're in your nightie if you wear it with flats.

Twoshoesnewshoes · 29/06/2023 08:21

Agree, if you feel good in it, go for it.
personally, it looks rather dated and a bit naff, bit ‘loud’.
