How many bikinis/swimsuits

per week of holiday time do you pack?

They are so small but it feels indulgent to take more than three for a weeks holiday.

More of a poll than a request for advice, but if you can give me good reasons for packing more I’ll accept that! 😎

2

FlounderingFruitcake · 20/06/2023 21:18

2 so if it’s a bit damp and you want to swim again there’s a dry one. I don’t see the need for any more than that.

CC4712 · 20/06/2023 21:20

I only own 1 swimsuit currently 😅 TBH- 3 for 1 week sounds excessive!

I'd take 2- so they can be dried between use and you aren't putting a damp one back on the next day

CC4712 · 20/06/2023 21:21

@FlounderingFruitcake sorry, cross post with almost the exact same advice.

DustyLee123 · 20/06/2023 21:21

I always change bikinis before lunch so that I’m not sitting in a wet cossie, and I don’t want to wear the same two every day. So 3.

Shinyandnew1 · 20/06/2023 21:26

Depends what sort of holiday it is. If it’s a sightseeing holiday and I might go swimming, just one or two. If it’s a lounging round the pool for a fortnight holiday, I’d take 5/6!

Assignedtoworryyourmother · 20/06/2023 21:27
  1. I see no point spending money on something I wear for less than 7/365 days.
Lesina · 20/06/2023 21:28

One?

Pinkvici22 · 20/06/2023 21:28

Probably around 5/6!!!

EnglishRose1320 · 20/06/2023 21:31

2 seems the most you could ever need. It's not like you are going to be wearing them when you are eating/sleeping/exploring/travelling.

But then I've never done a sit beside the pool type holiday, maybe that's different, but even then surely you put one on, spend some time at the pool. Change in to clothes for lunch, leave it dry- then swap into your second one after lunch, change into clothes for the evening. Repeat for the week?

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 20/06/2023 21:38

I always take at least 5. Combo of bikinis, tankini (vest top strapless or Strappy and bottoms) and a proper swimsuit for serious swimming plus fashion swimsuits.

I prefer not to have to worry about washing and rinsing them out.

In the past I’ve got away with less.

Yep fortnight def 5/6.

PinkLazyApple · 20/06/2023 21:40

For a fortnight definitely minimum 5, I like to vary them so I don't get tan lines.

Polis · 20/06/2023 21:47

For a beach holiday, five or six for a fortnight.

OkGoogleFoff · 20/06/2023 21:47

Thanks all, it’s a weeks pool/beach holiday. Last year I took two bikinis and one swimsuit. Of the bikinis one was a board short set so more suitable for water activities (the dreaded pedalo) and I guess I felt a little short on options. This year I’ve been going to the gym and whilst I won’t look amazing to many, to me I’m looking great and I’m not crying at the sight of myself in a bikini.

Same. I rinse mine out after every use, and they dry quickly. I don't see the point in taking loads.

BigMacExtraPickles · 20/06/2023 21:59

3

marriednotdead · 20/06/2023 22:09

2 or 3 but all the same shape- can't bear multiple tan lines!

TheFairyCaravan · 20/06/2023 22:13

3 All the same style so I don’t end up with multiple tan lines. I, also, try to buy co-ordinating colours/patterns so I can mix and match them.

FfeminyddCymraeg · 20/06/2023 22:13

Serial over packer here. I tend to have half a dozen or so for 2 weeks. Mostly to change during the day but also so I’m not seen wearing the same one over and over 😊

Xmasbaby11 · 20/06/2023 22:16

I only have 2 so take both!

I think if you have a few nice ones and you’re looking forward to wearing them, why not take 5 so you can enjoy the choice every day? It’s not like they take up space!

This 😊

Jakadaal · 20/06/2023 22:20

Personally I would take 4 - I tend to mix and match top and bottoms and always find that there is set I wear more than the others

Newusernamee · 20/06/2023 22:29

This is illuminating! I take 7 for a week, 10 minimum for a fortnight (but often 14!) no wonder my suitcase is always over the weight limit!

Lykia · 20/06/2023 22:42

I take 4/5 for a week with as many cover ups too.
