How many bikinis/swimsuits

per week of holiday time do you pack?

They are so small but it feels indulgent to take more than three for a weeks holiday.

More of a poll than a request for advice, but if you can give me good reasons for packing more I’ll accept that! 😎

I take 4 for 3 weeks. Use one in the morning, change into dry one to go for lunch and then use it all afternoon. In the evening wash them both out and pack my other two dry ones in my beach bag for the next day.

TheHennaHairedHarridan · 20/06/2023 22:58

2, so I have a dry one to put on if I swim more than once a day.

But then I only own 3 in total, and one of those is so see through that I can only wear it under a wetsuit.

Maddy70 · 20/06/2023 22:59

1 they dry really quickly

RampantIvy · 20/06/2023 23:28

also so I’m not seen wearing the same one over and over

I'm not sure anyone would notice TBH.

It's never occurred to me to take more than 2. I have just thrown out my 10 year old bikinis. I rarely wear them so they have lasted for ever.

EconomyClassRockstar · 20/06/2023 23:32

I take 7 for a week and then invariably spend the whole week rinsing out my favorite 2 or 3 and rewearing them! I never take hand luggage only though (if that makes a difference) and always check a full size suitcase because I like just having a handbag in the airport.

TheOGCCL · 20/06/2023 23:33

I don't do beach/pool holidays but if I did I'd see swimwear as my outfit for the day and take 4/5. As you say very lightweight to pack.

Matildahoney · 20/06/2023 23:47

I've optimistically bought 4 with me on a UK beach holiday this week! Abroad I'd definitely take 1 per day!

Everley · 20/06/2023 23:53

I’d take 7, although I may be in the minority here!

And that should have been brought, it was late,I was tired and didn't even notice! Bloody phone!

LoobyDop · 21/06/2023 09:56

Ideally you need 3- one off, one drying and one spare just in case. I always end up taking 4 or 5 though, because they take up so little space and weight there’s no point being strict about it.

DontBeBitterGlitter2023 · 21/06/2023 11:04

Bikinis are my thing.... I take at least one for every day plus a spare 'just in case'

I have about 40 in all 😂

Lcb123 · 21/06/2023 11:06

i've just been away and took 1 swimsuit and 2 bikinis

Mydustymonstera · 21/06/2023 11:14

Eye opening.
I take one. Always have. For beach holidays.
maybe I can justify a 2nd after all!!

Polis · 21/06/2023 12:04

I probably do too. I don’t take them all on holiday watch me though.

I am quite selective depending on the type of holiday, where I am likely to be wearing them and who I am likely to be wearing them with.

I’d be unlikely to be wearing a thong bikini wandering about or at a family get together.

StamppotAndGravy · 21/06/2023 12:45

Wtf! I swim competitively and go on actual specialist swim holidays and still only take 3-4 for a week. I only take that many because I get chafed and burnt round the edges so it's better to have a few different shapes. Where do you store all of these clothes when you get home?

OpalescentFly · 21/06/2023 12:53

I'm presuming those with 5 or more don't have to buy bikinis from places like bravissimo - they're £££

Both of mine are from Vilbrequin so I could 5 of them or I can have another holiday 🤣

I have about 20 from bravissimo - I’m a 34G. We have dedicated chest of drawers in the spare room for all our holiday clothes. We go away about 6 times a year though so we need the space for them all!

Maddy70 · 21/06/2023 13:48

I live in a hot country and swim almost every day I only own two. You can wash and dry one really quickly while you wear the other one

Polis · 21/06/2023 13:58

I don’t know how big your bikinis are but all mine fit in a drawer with plenty of room to spare. I could fit five in my coat pocket.

mondaytosunday · 21/06/2023 21:15

2

Bubblegum20 · 21/06/2023 21:19

I take one for each day, I don't wear underwear more than once before washing so I personally do the same with swimwear everyone's different though

RachelHair · 21/06/2023 21:21

4 but would take more if 4 wasn't the number I own. Why not?

Clevs · 21/06/2023 21:22

Two bikinis so I've always got a fry one. Plus a swimming costume in case we go to a water park. Bikinis don't survive on water slides 😂

I wash swimwear in the sink after every wear. It isn't exactly onerous.
