Hi all,

I have an array of jeans and beautiful tops but it feels too warm so looking for alternatives to my jeans. What are you all wearing?

Next 3/4 leggings. Nice and thin, unfortunately that means you can see my cellulite, but I don’t care as long as I’m cool.

Could you not wear wider cotton trousers?!

SallyWD · 10/06/2023 09:48

Linen trousers and long skirts. Can't wear anything knee length because of varicose veins.

milkydress · 10/06/2023 09:49

@TinyBarista 😂😂😂 me too!!

toottootpipip · 10/06/2023 09:57

Cycling shorts under floaty dresses or oversized T shirts, or my staple denim shorts (short but not showing buttcheeks which seems to be current vibe)

I'm late 40s

beakyboo10 · 10/06/2023 10:01

Cloth tiered mini dresses from George at Asda, ideal as they are cotton and as I am 5ft5 they are knee length on me. Only went in for school uniform and came out with 3 dresses.

WhatTheHeckyPeck · 10/06/2023 10:06

3/4 length jeans. Might wear knee-length denim shorts if it gets a bit warmer.

User12340000 · 10/06/2023 10:16

I really recommend these cropped pull on trousers from H&M.

They are so light and cool, stretchy waist and stylish which ticks a lot of boxes for me!

I’ve accidentally got fat and none of my clothes fit but refusing to buy more, so washing and rewearing the same 2 midi jersey dresses on repeat, hoping to bore myself into fitting into my other clothes before the summer is over. But my running shorts are too small as is my swimming cossie which is affecting exercise output

WhereAreWeNow · 10/06/2023 10:44

Shorts when not in the office. Skirts in the office.

Rina66 · 10/06/2023 10:52

😂 @AlanJohnsonsBeemer

If the boredom overcomes you, try good quality magic trousers.... they're kind to you on the way up and still good to you on the way down.

nine9nein · 10/06/2023 10:55

The mulmul comes out when it's over 30 degrees. Mine is worn and so soft - It's like wearing a feather.

Zipps · 10/06/2023 10:55

Shorts
Skirts
Dress
Not today though, out on motorbikes so leathers.

Polis · 10/06/2023 11:00

I’ve never had chub rub issues even when I was a size 14, I think I’m just not built that way!

Nor me. Which possibly why I love warmer weather.

One size fits all fashion like magic pants never works on me.

They rarely work on anyone. Not even the models look good

Taytocrisps · 10/06/2023 11:14

I bought a pair of cropped cotton trousers in a department store last year. They were expensive but they're very cool and comfortable.

I also bought a pair of navy cotton or linen trousers in Next last year. They're full length but loose and flowy and a softer fabric than the other pair. They're sooooo comfortable. I might have a look and see if they're stocking them again (or something similar) and get a pair in black.

I'm basically living in these two pairs at the minute.

I splashed out on a cotton sundress from Seasalt recently. You can dress it up with a shrug or just wear it casually as a sundress on a hot day.

Sadik · 10/06/2023 11:22

@CatfoodOzymandias my hot weather 'going out' outfit is a wide legged halter necked summer jumpsuit from Forgotten Tribes in their peacock pattern which I love. I've ordered a couple of winter dresses from there which didn't work for me (too big - I'm only 5'1") but I think their quality is surprisingly good given how reasonable everything is. I imagine the harem trousers would be the same fabric as my jumpsuit, & that doesn't crease.

Cantonet · 10/06/2023 11:22

Old Cotton maxis from Monsoon in blue & white or broderie. Cropped linen wide stripy pants from M&S or loose black floaty double layered linen pants ( years old) from Vivid Linen. M&S beach trousers in Muslin.

Sadik · 10/06/2023 11:28

In fact, if I needed any new summer clothes, I'd be getting these trousers from them in the green.

I burn easily so long & loose is my friend. For hot weather daytime casual I've got another wide legged (& more covering than the halter neck one) jumpsuit which I wear, & a pair of lightweight linen combats from Urban outfitters. For work (outdoors, not office!) I wear roll-up hiking trousers & light cotton shirts with a collar & at least some sleeve.

I think the weather's very variable across the country at the moment - we've had glorious sun for what feels like weeks, supposedly low to mid 20s, but it's felt hotter.

Dresses/skirts with chubrub shorts underneath 🙂

Theredfoxfliesatmidnight · 10/06/2023 11:46

I envy people who can wear linen trousers, I look like I've spent a night in the cells if I wear linen.

NatashaDancing · 10/06/2023 11:57

popularpopcorn · 10/06/2023 08:54

I wear longer skirts and dresses.

I’ve never had chub rub issues even when I was a size 14, I think I’m just not built that way!

Same here. I wear dresses all the time, summer and winter. Wearing this today. It's longer on me. (which unfortunately I paid full price for)

I prefer skirts over dresses. They suit my body shape better. Wearing a very old cotton M&S skirt today with a plain white t-shirt, but this one is favourite purchase this year:

Linen or cotton dresses mostly. Wide legged lined trousers.
