The shoes are proper Barbie.
she looks very girlish in the picture.

I love the shade of pink (and the heels work with it 😬) but think it’s too prissy a shape for the shade. It works much better in a brighter colour or toughened up a bit, but that’s not really Kate’s style is it?
I do like Mary’s skirt and jacket but not the top, it definitely needs a sleeker look with it.

Don't forget that whatever season you are, not all colours look good on you head to toe. Each colour is rated 25/50/75/100% so even if Kate is a summer, that shade of pink might be a 25% colour on her rather than the head to toe she has here. If she's a mid to darker summer than pastels aren't the best (I find if I wear head to toe pastels don't feel right at all, I need a brighter or darker summer shade to anchor me).

I can’t make up my mind about the pink on Kate, I’m not sure I like it against her skin. On the other hand it sets her hair off beautifully.

I hate the white shoes, don't like that shade of pink and think the style is sort of ok. Despite that Kate still manages to look great (which shows how much I know about anything).

Pink is becoming a bit of a 'go to' choice when it's an engagement meeting children, maybe it is intended to play to the 'meeting a real Princess' vibe? The pictures I saw with them having a group hug with Kate were lovely.

I didn't like it in the photo above, but after seeing more photos of the day I think she looks great. I agree it was a very princessy choice for meeting children.

That would make sense and actually be a lovely thing to do.

It did put me in mind a bit of that Me&Em dress she wore to meet the little girl in Scotland so I wondered if the princess in pink thing might be behind the choice too. Very sweet if so.

I think it would get a column of smoke rising above the machine as it burst into flames 😂

The Wales' have been busy lately. Obviously trying to cram in as much as possible before summer holidays start for the kiddies.

I saw the white shoes and felt a collective sharp intake of breath from this thread. I loved the dress and thought it was sweet to wear something princessy rather than a blazer etc.

Just to let you know I’ve been wearing my white shoes out and about as well!

Here we have Mathilde in a Zimmerman dress. I absolutely love this colour green (fern?) but I wish the skirt wasn't tiered. Still, I think the top half looks good.

The queen looks fabulous today in cornflower blue.

I like Mathilde's dress a lot and I don't usually like tiered dresses. It's a lovely colour.

I'm not usually a fan of the colour but with the design I think Mathilde looks fabulous

Love the Fern dress. I think I’d have loved it more if it had a flouncy swirly bottom - maybe like Kate’s pink dress the other day?

I love cornflower on the Queen. It is very becoming.

I want a fern kaftan now. Jersey. Viscose or cottony. Bit of stretch. I would love that.
