I wish she’d worn the strap, it makes them just a bit more interesting but I love the look today (earrings excepted)

Oh I didn't realise she hadn't worn the strap @CultureAlienationBoredomandDespair. Seems a bit pointless then as the strap is what makes the shoe more interesting than the usual stiletto heel!

Maybe those earrings are gifts from her children? I remember wearing some earrings from Claire's Accessories to work for exactly that reason.

Our favourite Prince has been out and about! He remains adorable.

Charlene at a water safety event - looking good in a red polo top! She always looks happier and more relaxed when Albert isn't present at sporty events like this.

Charles is as cute as ever but Stephanie is verging on pantalunacy in those trews!

Is it just me or does the dark hair make Charlene look vaguely like her SiL Stephanie?

Sophie looks pretty in pink . I like her infinity pendant.

It's been an Edwardian lady look with all the soft colours, high necks and long sleeves this year.

I'm not sure why she's wearing blue shoes with that shade of green! Although I actually like the colour. Charles ❤️! So cute.

I love Bea’s dress today, actually the whole thing. Great shoes too.
Kate also looks striking, I agree the shoes need the strap. I’ve made no bones about my lack of love for red, and my penchant for a delicate lace so no surprises there!
Nice to see Bea and Edo share the carriage with Kate and William, I still think she should be a working royal and I’m hoping that it’s edging in that direction. 🙂

It looks like Charles is fairly determined to stick with the "slimmed down" monarchy and would Beatrice even want to be a working royal? She and Eugenie seem to have quite nice lives as is, with the perks of being royal without the relentless media scrutiny that Kate gets.

I agree, @KillingMeDeftly . It really isn't going to happen. Nor will their lobbying for Andrew to come back into the fold.
They're getting the perks, less media scrutiny, less responsibility.

Anne and Edward and the Yorkies seem to be at a lot of events. And some of the Kent family too. They haven't been cut off completely in a slimming down thankfully.

I don't think the slimming down refers to the fun events like Ascot!

I don't think there was an intention to cut off! Nor exclude from social events. It's about a key group of working royals, not the extended family.
The Duke of Kent will always have a special place, he's very elderly and frail and kept the late Queen company at Balmoral. The Gloucesters will also be included. All the others were guests at all events, just didn't have an official royal role.

Exactly @Maireas, it refers to the working royals and that still encapsulates the Edinburghs, Anne, the Gloucesters and the Duke of Kent. It doesn't mean Charles is going to tell the likes of Gabriella Windsor or Flora Ogilvy that they can no longer attend Ascot!
